They have managed to keep hold of McCall which is a coup! I was surprised, I thought Sheff Utd would have been a lure for him but fair play he wants to stay and finish what he has started.
-
Temps has been bit unlucky with injuries and may be one of those cursed injury prone players that we seemed to have had in abundance over the years. But when he is fit he is probably our key man. Fingers crossed he gets 100% fit and a long run in the team.

If we lost to Sheff Wed then Newcastle could thump us. But being at Ibrox will help. The competitive game against Albion this weekend has to improve players also. Roll on the start of the league season though.

I wanted to wake up to hear about the good spectacle and it sounds like it was. The result not so good but once again the performance a concern. It is only a friendly so will let is pass, but come Saturday in the Ramsdens Cup we all have to expect better.

They were only 4 wins away from Celtic last season. If they can improve against others teams rather than drawing games then they could challenge. Celtic are a poor side, before Christmas they were losing games at home regularly.

Scottish / British Transfer talk Summer 2013
Gribz replied to der Berliner's topic in General Football Chat
Suarez to talk to Arsenal. But Liverpool want 50m. He is no way worth that. Im surprised Liverpool didn't accept 40m. Higuian has joined Napoli so that's the other Arsenal target gone. So they need to get Suarez or Rooney. I still think a keeper and centre half is where their problems lie. -
If Motherwell and Inverness kick on and improve they have a chance this season.
-
Look forward to waking up tomorrow and reading about a) a good performance b) good turnout c) good match and spectacle. Hope all Bears who are attending enjoy the evening.

A mountain of work to come up with 4 sentences!! The Scottish Premiership. The Scottish Championship. Scottish League One. Scottish League two. Why are these donkeys still allowed to turn up to work.

Good points made. I would just like to see more talent development in the current management / coaching set up so the current young players achieve the maximum ability possible.

Now one year on, just where are the dearly (and not so dearly)...departed
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed. And Naismith maybe did fall for propaganda but his own comments about the Chairman / new owners not knocking on his door to explain the situation was terrible. He didn't need the media to put that in his head. How dare the owner not go to see him as an individual eh!! -
I think the left side of the team (Wallace and Templeton) is better than what we previously had but the rest is way off. Ive yet to see a number of our newer players like Law, Clark and Peralta so after a few games it will be easier to judge. What I would say is we have a squad on par with a number of SPL sides. And Rab makes an interesting point about if we had better coaches, would we be even better. We are a fair bit behind Celtic but they aren't as good as made out. They are playing full of confidence knowing they don't have a challenge at the moment. For them its like 6th year school students against 3rd year, that's always going to make things easier. Yet had Inverness and Motherwell been more consistent last season in only 3-4 more games they would have been challenging.

As time has went on the action of some of those listed has gotten more cringe worthy especially from the so called boyhood followers. I have different opinions on different players. It was a catch 22 situation, we couldn't afford to keep them but we needed transfer fees. But CG did state that players would be allowed to move on with fees. Aluko's case was different, his deal expired and there is no way we could offer him a new one. But players like Whittaker, Naismith and Lafferty sat in the treatment room being handsomely for large part of their Gers time. Its mainly those 3 who wouldn't be welcomed back to Ibrox for me. Others careers have went backwards. Ness doesn't kick a ball for Stoke and Wylde has ended up at Pittodrie. -
Its a pity both parties couldn't have came to an agreement though. Alexander should have lowered his demands realising he was now 35, although can see his point at knowing a new no.1 was coming in. But I can never understand why packages cant be agreed with more add ons for appearances and in keepers cases - clean sheets. High basics is a fundamental problem with footballers these days. If they had more incentives you can bet they would be trying 50% more in training and on the park, but its too easy to pick up fat weekly salaries. Agree RE Gordon. Hope he can get his career back on track. Such a quality keeper on his day. Felt he took the wrong move to Sunderland at that time when he had the option of Villa. As good as Scots have done down south keepers haven't really clicked, perhaps that's why McGregor could only lure the interest of Hull when most Bears would agree he could walk into most clubs in the Premier League should he perform to his capabilities.

Pity a deal couldn't have been agreed with Alexander to stay on. Is Gordon still training with the club?

Q a potential hiding in this game if England field a strong team. The biggest gulf in class between the 2 squads in the history of the fixture. But as its 3 days before the Premier league starts it could be an England B team. Not one Rangers player in the squad - that could be a first! But 8 former players. Despite not having the quality of McAllister, Collins, Ferguson, Lambert etc its still a decent balanced squad and better than what we had under Berti Vogts reign. Considering the SFA/SPL management have done a wonderful job ruining the game its about as good as can expected. Lee Wallace should have been involved though.

First competitive game of the season is it? Match preview thread anyone?? And perhaps a season preview would be a good idea. Would keep the football chat going also!

Lennon defending that? 2nd last pic he is practically joining in, and Id like to see the next photo frame of the last photo - what exactly is that tink about to do?
-
2 years ago we were being beat by German 4th division sides in pre-season which ended up as terrible preparation for the CL and UEFA qualifiers. Last year we didn't even have a team to field in a pre-season friendly. This season is a different story. Its all about getting the players fit and into a comfortable system so they can take this season by storm and win the league at a canter and lift the Ramsdens Cup. The other 2 cups are a bonus at this stage again.

What are the lies? I am genuinely asking. I may have missed something on here while I was travelling at one point and I only use this sight for my club info.
-
Unless Ive totally something Im baffled by the opposite. Whyte's comments about him being in cahoots with CG were lies. CG may not have been the most cleverest at times but he certainly defended the club from all corners. Now unless there is things in the background that haven't been revealed Id welcome CG back straight away.

Rangers team buses burnt out in Arson job at Bruce's coach garage, Salsburgh
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
That was one of my first thoughts though, id have expected the team bus(es) to be kept at Murray Park. -
That man (on the left) should be employed by RFC. He could still do a job on the park and why on earth isn't he at least coaching. If Kevin Phillips can play in the Premier League at 40 then Mols can play Div 2 at 41.
-
Shiels yes but Templeton is our key creative player!
