Absolutely. And a number of players who signed to get us through the Divisions. A couple of others I thought were Reyna, Hemdani and McCann. I also think Ian Ferguson is a bit of an unsung hero despite being highly respected and rated. Can anyone think of any keepers? Goram, Klos and McGregor were all legends and huge.

Huistra is one on my list. (except he did have a song Ooo ahhh Huis-Tera) Davie Robertson was highly rated though. Not sure about Stephen Wright - we paid 1 million and he was injury prone and hardly played.

Another severely boring International break that has no appeal whatsoever. So to get a Rangers chat going with positivity I was wondering about unsung hero's and who everyone thought would fit into this category. (pretty sure we had one years ago but I couldnt find it and they may be new / more opinions now). Im only going to name one. My stand out would be Gordon Durie. He was ever reliable, a seriously hard worker, banged in a number of good goals, formed good partnerships and was a regular at both club and international. He also came at the right time as the Hateley / McCoist partnership was just about to decline after Ally broke his leg against Portugal that year. So for me Durie went a bit under the radar.

Slightly surprising role, I cant see him lasting too long in it. Seems like a position has just been created and more of a commercial thing. Does he really want to be advising in the MLS and Austrian league? Perhaps just a payday until the German job comes up as this new job has a clause where he can leave for that job. But how boring is this international break! Its ridiculous. The nations league has to be scrapped or changed. FIFA should not allow clubs to enter the WC through this back door - it should only be qualification through the WC qualifiers only. If UEFA want to mess around with the Euro qualifiers and allow Nations league countries that way then so be it as its a UEFA competition. That way the Nations league should be played every couple of years instead. The WC qualifiers start in March so these 3 international breaks are a complete waste of time.

The Bosman had an unreal impact, the "Diarra" could be the new one. It could result in clubs offering lower wages but players will have to remember if they are requesting moves then they wont get a full pay up on the outstanding contract. As for the smaller clubs Im pretty sure they can still insert some sort of clause with bigger clubs relating to QTY of games played plus request higher initial transfer fees.

Im going against the odds and tipping first wins of the season for Leicester and Wolves today. Palace just havent got started this season for some reason and Liverpool are winning ugly and playing well so will still be without a win, as will Southampton after their manager publicly called out the players and said he wont change his style. Ipswich are up against a West Ham side who must win. If Villa dont have a Euro hangover they could tank Man Utd. Compo - young supporter?? However I do agree with the rest of your post and for me the solution is to change the formation to a 3-5-2 especially in domestic games. With 3 centre halfs it removes Tavernier's defensive duties slightly and becoming less reliant. Jefte is clearly good enough at both LB and LW so going up and down would be perfect for him. You dont change the midfield combo of Diomande and Barron plus having a creative attacker in front of them. But you put someone else along side Dessers to give him more help and more space for the no.10 - For me the chances should increase and also fall to other players. This was plainly obvious against Hibs and we relied on a Lawrence worldly and a Penalty save to get 3 points.

Well done The Villa, cracking goal again from Duran Duran but Martinez had a couple of worldy saves. The other thread about Man Utd's next manager - what would they give to get Uni Emery?? I mentioned A-listers who are Klopp, Pep, Anchelotti and possibly Zidane (although needs to prove himself elsewhere) but Emery cant be far off from being promoted into that bracket.

A good thing for me, I like him and at 100% when on it he is the best available player in about 3 positions on the park.

This isnt bad, I have always thought there is a player in there but it just hasnt shown often enough. He isnt a patch on his father but he is still capable of performing for the next 3 months in the SPL. I like him better than Lawrence and Dowell and fast creativity in that No.10 role is what is really lacking at the moment. I dont see Hagi getting much starts though, Phil has shown he doesnt shuffle things much at all and can be very loyal.

But Ten Hags singings are very questionable - I dont rate the goalkeeper, Anthony has never shown near worth 80m and Mount has been one of the worst signings in premier league era and the strikers are very raw. I think Ten Hag wants the sack after the owners interviewing in the summer. He was firefighting behind the scenes in the last two seasons with multiple issues.

They spoke with him in the summer and were very open about it but there was no agreement. Tuchel likes more control than just being a coach and Ineos were bringing in the Ashworth / Wilcox set up.

If Werner could finish it would have been at least 5-0 in that game. I guess that has to be the end for Ten Hag though, he cant turn things around now especially against Porto away. Tuchel would be the only realistic option at the moment but the board obviously saw something they didnt like. Ashworth and Southgate are very close mates so he will be a possibility and I hope so because he is worse than Ten Hag - he didnt even play Palmer in the Euros. Zidane would be the only A-lister available but he doesnt fancy Manchester nor speak the language.
