  1. Great bit of writing - granted - nobody can deny that. But as for a match preview - sorry its not a preview for me.
  2. Carbon copy of Tuesday night. Down to 10 men and changes the occasion. Away team scores in 54th and 89th minute (Barca scored in same times). But Arsenal were the better side first 30 mins and had they stayed to 11 men would have probably got a result. Mesut Ozil - I think he would crawl back to Madrid right now, looks lost and unhappy. Wenger should have subbed him, now Santo Cazorla will be wondering what has he got to do. Not buying Berbatov in January was silly, he'd have made the difference in a few games recently IMO. Draxler should have been scooped aswell but Podolski should be getting more game time. Cant see anything other than Bayern in the last 8.
  3. Unbelievable. If Celtic were still in the cup there is no way this petition would have been seen. Whilst I agree that semi finals and finals should be at a neutral ground it has to be decided at the start of the tournament not when Rangers are 90 minutes and Albion Rovers away from reaching a semi.
  4. If that's the worst Barcelona team in many many years then it doesn't say much for the Premier league. It wasn't a great game but Barca were certainly more comfortable in possession when it was 11 v 11. Mixed opinions on Talksport earlier saying some thought Man City were good early on but others plus myself think Barca were well in control. The 65% possession says it all. Toure never got in the game yet he is one of the best players in England. It just shows the gap between Englands top teams and European top sides. Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas just control games and none of them are physically strong. I don't think it was a penalty, first contact was made just outside the box but it was a defo foul and red card. The 2nd goal has almost killed the tie. At 1-0 you'd think Man City might still have half a chance with Aguero back but surely Barca wont throw this away.
  5. Another bad Saturday, nothing up. Today, a wee tenner on St Johnstone 12/1 to win at Celtic - someone has to beat them.
  6. Id say the league cup is theirs, they wont want a repeat of losing to the underdog (Wigan last year) again. They would be favourites for the FA cup and if they win their game in hand in the league they are top again. The CL is a different dilemma. Barca will be a right test. If they go through there then they have to be contenders. In Kompany, Toure and Aguero they have 3 world class players in the spine of the team. Add Silva, Nasri and Negredo then they are capable of winning it. 2 weeks ago Id have had a bet on them winning all 4 but now I see them doing a double. Premier League and League Cup. I think they will fall short in the CL and FA cup.
  7. Bob Wilson having a go but id have said much more like he has never built anything, and never won anything without a cheque book. No wonder Man Utd didn't want him.
  8. Glad to see Jose Mourinho getting brought back to earth. His comments are beginning to get boring and as Arsenal probably wont win the league I hope City do it. City have grown on me this season, I didn't like them under Mancini but Pellegrini has come in and bought professionalism to the club and a much better brand of football. It would be nice to see him get 1 over Mourinho.
  9. Unfortunately wouldn't make an April date, Im not over until May 15. It would have been good to meet a number of you on here. Ive not met anyone on here for 10 years since I saw Frankie at the Porto game in 2004. In saying that I met Eightball a few years ago when he was on holiday here.
  10. Agreed, quite possibly the worst player ive ever seen
  11. Should be a good game, Arsenal will come out blazing trying to rid last weeks game out them but I see Liverpool riding the storm and winning this game. Arsenal are running on empty now and I can see them slipping away. I think they will end up 4th in the league now. With Bayern coming up in Wed its going to be a long week for gooners. Hope they prove me wrong but the failure to sign in January is the problem unless Sanago is an instant hit upfront.
  12. I quite like Merson as a pundit, he calls it as he see's it but I do watch the soccer Saturday review on the website and his mispronunciations are becoming tiresome. Ive just bought his book 'how not to be a professiona footballer', 1 chapter is - don't move in with Gazza, so looking forward to reading it.

    Hullo Hullo

Can someone please explain to me why we don't sing this greatest anthem anymore The "authorities" (define them) have said we cant so we follow like sheep. It is legally proofable (is that a word) that this isn't a bigoted or sectarism song....so say lets start a campagn to bring back our anthem. If it means missing a word then so be it....but they cant ban 1 and not for another Hullo Hullo
  15. Hoofing player....bring him back
  16. I'll give you Fergusons biggest while Im no.2 there, but Im claiming to be Boyd's biggest critic. But it is refreshing to see him mature and do well for Kilmarnock this season. Its probably what he needed. Going overseas and down south obviously opened his eyes up. I still stand by that he wasn't good enough in the bigger games for Rangers.
  17. I would still fancy us as joint favourites as the moment for 2 reasons. 1) The kind Quarter final draw means we should reach the semi's. 2) The semi is at Ibrox. Looking at the FA cup this weekend you wouldn't say the top 3 in England right now are FA cup favourites - Id put Liverpool and Everton up there with Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal due to the draw plus the CL coming up so its not always the highest league positioned teams who are favourites.
  18. Ally should be throwing the younger ones in now to get them first team experience so they have had plenty first team action before moving up the leagues when the fixtures get harder, shocking decision! Is Ally is going for an unbeaten league season more than planning long term!!
  19. Plenty reasons to give some players a rest and get them 100% to have a good go at the cup.
  20. Went to same school as me but obviously not at the same time as he is 11 years my elder, but certainly one of my old favourites.
  21. Selangor and Shah (Not Sham) Alam are equivalent of Falkirk at best.
  22. How old is Boyd now anyway? This season for Killie is the first time I have seen him look in decent shape for a professional footballer. He seems to finally have grasped that you need a certain fitness level. He looks to have turned the extra pounds into muscle and looks right a right handful. Ive seen a few of his goals and he has taken them well. But we have to remember he is playing in a poor Killie team in a poor league. From the biggest Boyd critic on the planet I think he'd slightly improve the team at the moment so long as he played upfront with Shiels and Templeton who could do all the work for him. He'd give a bigger presence at the moment. But Id say its too late in the day to re-sign him.
  23. And the chances of that happening are?? This just gives teams especially in the SPFL a safety if they are going to spend. The tail is wagging the dog in the SPFL.
  24. Cant believe I woke up at 3am for that shower. It had 0-0 on it after 5 minutes which is very disappointing. Both sides were poor. Arsenal going forward never got people in the box and every short low pass was never complete. They really miss Walcott. Starting with 5 central midfielders is their problem. Arteta, Wilshire, Rosicky, Ozil and Cazorla all prefer to play through the middle, I thought the game was screaming out for Podolski. Man Utd were extremely poor. Every time Arsenal got the ball they were up against a banks of 4 and 5. Man Utd did defend well but that wasn't a Man Utd team on that pitch. Imagine Alex Ferguson lining up like that? Arsenals record against the top teams is going to cost them the title. I cant see them winning at Chelsea or beating Man City at home. Wenger needs to rest Giroud and Ozil. The failure to not bring in Draxler and Berbatov in January is now showing what a mistake it was, so what if he had to pay a wee bit more for Draxler. Berbatov would have fit into Girouds place in that game and probably have been the difference.
  25. I'll be in UK in May so this could work for me!
