  1. This was an issue in the some sections of the Club Deck years ago when I sat up there.

Well erm...I didnt want to say 😃
  3. You mean "when" Scotland get beaten by Portugal...... I think he has loads of credit with the SFA but he may decide himself he's had enough after this game.
  4. Wasnt exactly scoring for Southampton in the Championship last season but Shankland bagged about 25 for Hearts and should well have been ahead of him in the pecking order. Plus id even have had Armstrong and Christie as a 2 up top in the Euros - at least the are direct and pacey as opposed to the undroppable McGinn who has no pace to play off a striker especially Adams. Mind you I dont really care much for international football but it can still be frustrating.
  5. He has stumbled on 4 at the back because of injuries but if Tierney was available that would have been a back 5 last night 100%. Why on earth did he persist with Adams upfront who is terrible. As for next manager - even though I wanted Moyes away from West Ham I think he is tailor made for international football.
  6. Yeah, but the media not even raising it. 13 games or something without a win and the last win was a lacklustre against Gibraltar. He should have left after the Hungary game.

Good shout. Almost forgotten considering the talent that was in the team.
  8. Yeah it was a case of trying to hard to impress. Plus he is too honest and a bit scared of the media. There is a huge difference with other countries and what England are doing. France in the 90s ripped everything up as they hadnt won anything bar the Euro 84 (i think). I remember being at school and discussing with my mates saying they must have some team if Ginola and Cantona couldnt get a game - then in Euro 96 they were poor but after that they were awesome - and since the WC 98 and Euro 2000 wins they have still been a powerhouse reaching WC finals in 2006, 2018 (won), 2022 plus Euro 2016. Spain thought they were the biggest under achievers in world football in the 2000s and then grew into themselves scooping everything from 2008-2012. They had a dry patch but are on it again and were miles ahead of everyone else this year. There system is already in place with their manager coming through from U21s to the first team. Where as England stumbled across Southgate who is a Director of Football at best and wasnt even a contender for the job before the Allardyce scenario. He took them to Semi's and Finals with draws he couldnt have handpicked kinder and was always falling short with his tactics - now they think Carsley is in the line for promotion just because its what Spain did (well planned) despite never managed at top flight club level and only dealing with U21 players rather than full time players from top clubs - the step up is massive.

If you are going down the Daniel route then Daniel Cousin - perhaps more of an enigma - could be unplayable on his day but didnt do it enough. Tam Buffel was another of mine - always thought he was a classy player.

Yes if he didnt put an end to Marco Negri being a goal machine. But yes a quality player.
  11. Engerland beaten by Greece at home. The manager doing a Levein 4-6-0 formation and its backfired massively.

Absolutely. And a number of players who signed to get us through the Divisions. A couple of others I thought were Reyna, Hemdani and McCann. I also think Ian Ferguson is a bit of an unsung hero despite being highly respected and rated. Can anyone think of any keepers? Goram, Klos and McGregor were all legends and huge.

Huistra is one on my list. (except he did have a song Ooo ahhh Huis-Tera) Davie Robertson was highly rated though. Not sure about Stephen Wright - we paid 1 million and he was injury prone and hardly played.

Big Slim - would you say his first spell, second spell or both? I ask because I only recall his second period at the club. He was partial to aiming the odd shot at the upper tiers.
  15. Another severely boring International break that has no appeal whatsoever. So to get a Rangers chat going with positivity I was wondering about unsung hero's and who everyone thought would fit into this category. (pretty sure we had one years ago but I couldnt find it and they may be new / more opinions now). Im only going to name one. My stand out would be Gordon Durie. He was ever reliable, a seriously hard worker, banged in a number of good goals, formed good partnerships and was a regular at both club and international. He also came at the right time as the Hateley / McCoist partnership was just about to decline after Ally broke his leg against Portugal that year. So for me Durie went a bit under the radar.
  16. Slightly surprising role, I cant see him lasting too long in it. Seems like a position has just been created and more of a commercial thing. Does he really want to be advising in the MLS and Austrian league? Perhaps just a payday until the German job comes up as this new job has a clause where he can leave for that job. But how boring is this international break! Its ridiculous. The nations league has to be scrapped or changed. FIFA should not allow clubs to enter the WC through this back door - it should only be qualification through the WC qualifiers only. If UEFA want to mess around with the Euro qualifiers and allow Nations league countries that way then so be it as its a UEFA competition. That way the Nations league should be played every couple of years instead. The WC qualifiers start in March so these 3 international breaks are a complete waste of time.
  17. I thought we started quicker and looked on the front foot much more than last week but it fizzled out and like Cammy said in the last post I dont know what the style is. We are missing a very big presence.
  18. First half was terrible, second half had chances but it had 0-0 written all over it from the first whistle. Man Utd have had Spurs, Porto and Villa in 7 days and not won a game, Ten Hag cant turn it around. But he is being clever in the media - it sounds like cryptic messages to the board by repeating what they said to him in the summer after talking to Tuchel - I.E "we are in it together" - yet the media dont see this and think he is just coming out with daft quotes. Tottenham throwing away a nice lead at Brighton.
  19. Its a much easier Competition to win this season, there was still one or two biggish teams in it when West Ham won it plus Villa could only get to the semi's. Not having Europa League teams drop into it helps - and that is totally the correct rule change (and no CL teams dropping down to EL)
  20. A couple of good additions there. Its the correct result that matters rather than the scores 😎 Wolves are a shambles, conceded 21 goals so far averaging 3 a game. My tip for them to go down is looking likely depending if they make a change of manager this international break.
  21. The Bosman had an unreal impact, the "Diarra" could be the new one. It could result in clubs offering lower wages but players will have to remember if they are requesting moves then they wont get a full pay up on the outstanding contract. As for the smaller clubs Im pretty sure they can still insert some sort of clause with bigger clubs relating to QTY of games played plus request higher initial transfer fees.
  22. The club offered to make a fixture switch to Perth for a 3pm K/off but others declined for some bizarre reason - this would easily have been the more sensible option.
  23. He isnt swapping Lombardy for Cheshire or Greater Manchester. Plus Inter are in very good shape. Man Utd dont actually have a world class player in their squad, Casemiro was at Real but not now.
  24. I thought they would be a disaster but fair play to the Coach. Im not convinced they have been fully tested except Man City on the opening day plus they got lucky at Bournemouth.
  25. Id like to see Igamane and Dessers upfront with Bajrami behind them. We simply didnt have enough through the middle against Hibs and its easier for the opposition defenders to pick up just Dessers with Lawrence behind. St Johnstone shouldnt cause problems so its a waste having a back 4 then 2 deep midfielders.
