When we had Tugay I knew he was a pretty good player and was capable of something a bit extra but he wasn't in most peoples starting XI at the time as we had Albertz, Van Bronckhurst, Ferguson, Reyna, De Boer and McCann all at their peak. But I usually click onto Skysports video website and watch that Paul Merson program where he has players and ex players on giving their all time I-XI of the players they have played with. Tugay is getting into teams quite regularly and players cant speak highly enough of him saying he was a genius. Dean Saunders was the latest this week and said he should have been playing for 1 of the big 4. Tugay has been mentioned in 3 teams in the last 2 months. Why did we sell him in the end? IIRC he wasn't one of the players who wanted to leave. I recall Reyna and Gio wanting to play at a higher level but not Tugay. Seems we had another World Class player on our books.

That's good to hear. Although it looks a wonderful stadium it still just doesn't have that classic feeling anywhere near like the last Wembley. There hasn't been too many good games played there and the atmosphere never sounds great on TV plus the angle of the cameras isn't high enough IMO during games. Still, its got plenty time to turn it around. I feel England need to host a World Cup to get it up there.

I wonder how the players who left 18 months ago feel now. We have half way through this journey back to the top and when we do get promotion it will be pretty big and the first home match will be huge yet none of them will be part of it because they jumped ship when youngster like MacLeod showed them how its done. -
There has to be a fine line. We cant expect people to be robots and sit in silence on a train yet there is no place on a train for bouncing around making noise etc. I guess without the exact facts we can only speculate. I used to take the train to Ibrox from Aberdeen for most games more so than the bus purely for the enjoyment day out and sitting having a few drinks on the train. At the very most we would be having a good chat and big carry out both ways and never bothered anyone other than in a good way. On the way back we'd always be rather tipsy but never caused an ounce of trouble. But people feel intimidated these days by the sight of football fans.

Other than Wallace there isn't too many players who would attract a decent fee therefore selling players now and trying to replace them would set us back a year.

I went to the Nou Camp in 2003 and thought it was a fantastic place to be, you can really feel the energy. But with times every club needs a revamp or a new ground. if they follow Bayern Munich then they wont look back. they left the huge Olympic stadium to go to their cracking new stadium. If Barca roof the Nou Camp it would put in a great atmosphere. But revamping a ground that size could be more difficult that just building a new one from scratch.

I don't think anyone is denying that and I completely agree but I cant work out how the conclusion was to ban them from Rangers games.

The build up to the game was one of the best things about it, from about Thursday onwards countdown to kick off couldn't come quick enough. In the last few years there was a few games which became a bit of an anti-climax but when you got a cracking game like the 4-2 win at Parkhead a few years ago when Cousin scored in the first minute and Mendez hit the screamer there was no better games!

What is the connection between Rangers matches and offensive songs on a train? If they were singing Rangers songs this could be deemed offensive to everyone else on the planet, does that mean Ibrox would be empty every week? If they were singing songs that have no relation to Rangers then surely the punishment should have been a banning from travelling on trains?

Not sure how anyone could miss playing against teams, people and for a league that is ran by people who made us a doormat. If the circumstances was different and we dropped to the bottom tier on our own accord and had had support of some chairmen and those (attempting) to run the game then yes missing the top flight action may have been felt.

So long as we spend the money wisely its maybe not a bad thing. Templeton s disappointing, will be interesting to see where he goes in the future! His petulance could cost him a career by the sounds of things.

Jeez....Shiels! Totally forgot about him. He was one player I thought was a peach of a signing at the time yet injury and poor form has made him the forgotten man.

Fixed that sentence for you mate But yeah a new ground in Stanley Park has too much common sense about it. 65000-70000 would tick the boxes. I really hope Everton kick on this season after they lose today and get into the CL league, Id like to see them do well and get a bit of investment behind them.

Little and McCulloch upfront for me. Worked very well last season, and I would stretch to say Templeton could have a run upfront playing off someone.

Not for me. Miller yes, Boyd no. I think we are ok upfront. Id prefer Ally turned his attentions to the defence long term.

Sounds like that's where Liverpool are falling behind - the stadium. Why they don't build a joint stadium in Stanley Park with Everton is baffling. They don't have a nasty rivalry and both need a new stadium. If it works in Milan it can work in Liverpool.

Boyd with 1 assist 1 goal yesterday in Kilmarnocks win at Ross County. But I was shocked to see the condition of Boyd he looked in the best shape in his career....looks like he lost all his weight and strong. Has he finally matured and realised what being a footballer is all about! His assist and goal was impressive.

Faure is a natural centre half? I am struggling to work out why he doesn't get a chance there next to Mohsni for next season. At RB id try Peralta, that's his apparent 2nd position after centre mid...perhaps the reason why he hasn't performed at RM.

Did you go to Anfield yesterday? I watched the first half. West Ham are in trouble, defence is poor and they don't have any strikers.

Looking forward to Arsenal v Everton tonight. I am hoping Arsenal win the league but hope Everton nip into the top 4. Martinez has done superb and a likeable manager. Think The Goons will be 7 clear at the top after this one though.

I don't usually tune into Sky news although its a channel I get but I turned it on earlier and saw the mess of Fir Park. Just animals, and this is what they do when their team win 5-0. Social problems getting worse. I can see how the NWO want to keep people controlled when I read about these animals. Have to say eve on Friday morning when I looked at the weekends fixture list seeing Celtic play away on a Friday night raised my eyebrow.

I agree, id be playing a bit ugly just to get points and that means lumping Fellaini upfront with Hernandez yesterday. RVP wasn't fit at all. They are missing quality but they are also really missing a leader and someone with fight, Fletcher will give them that if he gets himself well enough. How Cleverly is a premier league player is baffling, how he gets in the England squad is scary! What do people see in him? Same as Welbeck, shouldn't be near either team. Man Utds best XI at the moment is: _________________________De Gea_______________________ Rafael________Vidic_____________Evans__________Evra ______________________Carrick_________________________ ____Januzai___________Kagawa_______________Giggs ________________Rooney_____Van Persie____________ Fletcher would walk into that team if fit. Giggs would depart, Januzai switch to left and Fletch on the right. But it is still a team lacking and no where near the top 4. Young, Nani, Valencia, Anderson, Cleverly, Fellaini all struggling. Zaha hasnt had a chance and only proved himself in the Championship. Jones is a long term partner for Evans, Rio is finished and Giggs cant play every week.

That's key for me. Its nice to be playing games without the bile and hatred. Im sure the others in the SPL are the ones who miss playing us more than we miss playing them although they wouldn't admit it.

Under the circumstances not I don't miss them at all although I thought I would 18 months ago. I compare it a bit like Christmas's for me, I don't do Christmas every year living out here therefore every 2nd Xmas seems better....so I am thinking when the OF game does eventually come around it will be good after such a gap. But as it stands I don't miss playing ANY SPL side.
