Sorry...but I have sympathy here....I think its the worst managerial sacking in a long time. I quite like Malky,
-
Would still love Ray Wilkins to be involved, even along side Ally I think he'd make improvements.

I saw he scored again and the Beeb website had another picture of him, and once again he looks physically in the best shape of his life. If only he had looked after himself when younger at his peak I think he could have been a better player.

Yeah Ive never been convinced with the Davies argument, he has always done well I the Championship but that's it. I think a combination between Butcher and McCall would be a good team. I'll be interested to see how well Butcher does with Hibs (same as McInnes at Aberdeen), if he is good then I'd say he deserves a crack after Ally. I still think Calderwood is under rated and would stroll this level. Whether he would be right for SPL is another argument but he is always tactically aware and plays a more attack style of football. Bascially he'd put a better footballing base down than Ally has.

Hardly a shock and was expected but if the Steve Clarke sacking was not justified then this one takes the Michael. He has done wonders for Cardiff. Tan saying he over spent and should do much better with 50m, however that's not the case. When you are side who hasn't been yo-yo-ing the premier league the difference between the Championship and PL is 50m just to stay there and survive and that's what Cardiff are doing. Would say Mackay will walk into the West Brom job but may leave it for a bigger position eventually. Could see Mackay being a future Scottish boss. He is like McLeish but with tactical knowledge

Ok with that, I know there has been 1 or 2. There was a game last season where I drew the line and said he certainly isn't the manager for the future of this club. I stand to that opinion today despite our record this season.
-
Agree with this however the debate only appears when we don't win a game. Id prefer people start the debate after a poor winning performance also.

I saw quite a few games last season but not this year, but McKay was one of the positive stand outs last season and I thought the one with most potential. For all of a sudden to read he is available on loan is a bit of a shock. Maybe if he was 35 and nearing the end of his career he'd be on a bumper package and playing every week. Sounds like this one could go a bit similar to the Hemmings situation, a promising youngster who did well out on loan but never got much of a chance.

The 100% was always going to go, Im not too worried about it although I didn't expect it to go at Ibrox. A season unbeaten is more realistic, having the odd draw is no shame. The manner in which they come about is. I wouldn't start an Anti-Ally bandwagon simple for dropping 2 points, the debate about his manager ability is a separate one and shouldn't just be brought up on individual results when we don't win a game.

Big Eck could also be trying to justify why he finished 3rd in a 2 team league. His bosmans were better than players he actually spent money on!! But he has a point, nothing would be worse than going into the top flight and competing for being 4th or 5th. I don't expect to win the league straight away but there has to be signs that we are improving and should still take 2nd spot.

A proper youth policy should have been in place when Murray Park was first opened and that would have meant having a proper scouting system with ex players in their native countries finding good young talent. I know some will point to the 1 or 2 that has come through but we really should have had 20 times more better players coming through and should have been light years ahead any other SPL side. As such it pains to say Dundee Utd have even a far better youth set up.

Torres has been so poor there. Granted he isn't the same player he was at Liverpool but I still think he would score goals for fun at Man United or Arsenal. Imagine Liverpool had Torres and Suarez at the same time at their peak! As things stand Suarez would go for 85 million now, but depends what clauses he has in his new contract.

Well done West Ham and Sunderland putting a boot into that draw! Unreal for West Ham winning at White Hart Lane twice in space of a few weeks. Pity the Manchester clubs were kept apart in the semi's, I have serious doubts that that wasn't a fix!!! West Ham v Man City Sunderland v Man Utd

Can someone put it forward that we want all the seats at Ibrox the same shade of blue again

Authorities have given Hearts boss “impossible task”
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I see what you are saying and yes likes of Les Gray was clearly trying to jump ship but it was in writing that they had to give 3 years notice so SFL should have stood ground IMO. With a bit of luck Hamilton get promoted this season so we don't have to visit them twice next season and they miss out on the Hearts games also. They could then be relegated the season after and pass on the way down as we return to the top league. -
Authorities have given Hearts boss “impossible task”
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I was against the article until he balanced it by saying the same treatment was done against Rangers. At first I thought it was only going 1 way that Hearts had been hard done by but not Gers, but fair play to Alex Smith, he then hit the nail on the head - Although he used the words 'they slit our throat' while we have all said 'kicked while we are down'.....both relevant though. Looking at the possible scenario next season of Rangers, Hearts, Dundee, Falkirk and Dunfermline possibly being in the same league further proves the point then Longmuir should have been far stronger when Regan and Doncaster came knocking for the takeover. Longmuir and the SFL already had the trump card in Rangers and if they had stayed stronger and not given into a takeover (embarrassingly named a merger) then the SFL would have had far better set up next season and could have then made the game better. As such now, clowns like Doncaster will get their wish and practically have an SPL2 next season and a better league because of others downfalls...... -
That's a sunday. Didn't we have another match scheduled for that weekend? Seems to be a lot of empty weekends at the moment for our games.
-
Why don't we have a match this weekend? I suppose with last weeks game called off and no game until boxing day will give the players a rest and there is no excuse for winning on boxing day and on Dec 30 against Dunfermline to keep the winning run going.

Managers dropping like flies. But this one was on the cards, Spurs should be doing much better. But they were lucky in 2 home games against Hull (1 in the cup), beaten by Newcastle at home, thrashed by West Ham at home, royally humped by Man City and Liverpool. Hoddle, Laudrup, Capello and Benitez all linked and would all be good choices IMO. Zola also left Watford yesterday. The Sheff Wed job still available, managers dropping everywhere. I think Malky Mackay will go next after the Cardiff chairman got annoyed with him yesterday after Mackay said he wants 3 players in January.
-
Unlucky for Clarke, feel its the wrong decision. West brom have been unlucky with wrong ref decisions that cost them 7 points. Up until 4 weeks ago they were doing well, so he has been judged on 4 results. A cracking coach and I wouldn't mind seeing him at Ibrox one day in some role. Strachan should take him on board for some international experience. I wonder if McLeish will be a contender for the West Brom job and probably be the first man to manage all 3 Birmingham clubs! That would be something.
-
Arsenal were full of errors. Monreal was terrible. They gifted City the 3rd goal. Ref and linesman was poor also, giving Man City 2 wrong decisions which led to 2 goals. Not saying City weren't the better team but they were assisted by mistakes and the refs.

^ what a squad of players!!!!

Man City v Arsenal. Potential belter. Arsenal always go to win games and Man City at home are awesome. Arsenal were poor at Old Trafford but Utd came out to try stop Arsenal playing while City will come out an attack which means Arsenal will hit on the counter. I still fear Arsenal's defence will collapse at some point, they are playing well as a unit all calendar year but they still lack pace at centre half and Aguero could really get in about them. Going forward both teams have awesome talent. But it depends how fit Giroud is. Both have depth in midfield so Arsenal can bring n Wilshire and Ramsay who sat out the last game but a good point made earlier was City have got 4 top strikers while Arsenal have one. Although Podolski and Walcott can play through the middle and are fit again they wont today. Im going for a draw, possibly 2-2 but I'll have a flutter on 1-1.
