  1. This should be interesting.
  2. And not just that, it never seems to come even against part timers in the lower leagues.
  3. The fear for me is if we don't make a change (summer would probably be the right time to do it) then we could face 2 seasons in the Championship. Teams like Dundee, Falkirk and Queen of the South are much better than Arbroath, Brechin and East Fife who we just sneaked wins against last month, and then there is the 3-3 with Stenhousemuir and 1-1 with Albion Rovers at home recently also.
  4. Its an emotional time. Everyone knew this period wasn't going to be a short one. It was a 3-4 year journey - at least. Football is a funny game and it goes in cycles. For 2 decades Liverpool dominated the English game with strong sides like Everton and Arsenal being up there. For the next 2 decades Man Utd dominated with Arsenal and Chelsea being their strongest challenges. Now Liverpool are coming back with strong Man City and Chelsea sides. - Cycles. Rangers and Celtic have been in the same situation. There was mixed glory in the 70s then strong Aberdeen and Dundee Utd sides broke the dominance during a very weak Rangers period while Celtic were still winning trophies. Rangers fans said the early to mid 80s was the lowest point they have seen - just 10 years after winning a European trophy. But fast forward 2 seasons and we became strong again in the late 80s and went on a period of non stop success while Celtic almost had their doors closed. Celtic were saved and during their rehabilitation had to suffer such cup final defeats ironically against Raith. They eventually got back on their bike and after 5 years there was an even match up for a good few years between both sides. Now our situation is mirroring Celtics early 90s spell however its been much worse with the politics and the hand we've been dealt. Celtic didn't get pushed down the leagues and weren't kicked while down by all corners of the game. The realisation is we are climbing the ladder again and we will return to the top, it isn't going to happen over night or 365 nights. Although is feels more like a game of snakes and ladders as there is many obstacles on and off the pitch to negotiate, therefore there is a few steps backward during the climb. Yesterday was a slip but in the long term its not one that will set the club back to where we want to be. In a few years time its one that we can probably smile about as if you look at the main picture we are on course in our number one priority of climbing the leagues. We do have the situation of a problematic team to be addressed and plenty has been said about that. The post is turning into an essay but the point of it to D'Art is to realise these things are expected and not to take them to heart. The journey for Rangers was never going to be rosy in the garden.
  5. Aguero plays behind Negredo
  6. Micky Quinn on talksport saying there has been talk of this but the bad point is that he hasn't hinted he would be leaving Newcastle.
  7. Got to agree with that, City sold out Maine Road in the 3rd tier and this wasn't even too long ago. Late 90s early 2000s. And Chelsea have been bankrolled by as much.
  8. Id say Cardiff have gone, silly to get rid of Malky McKay and appoint an unproven name. Fulham pull a win out of nowhere at Villa who really are the most inconsistent team in the league. Now all of a sudden they have Norwich at home next week and if they win that are 2 points away from them yet Norwich have Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in their last 4 games while Fulham have decent fixtures with Hull, Sunderland and Palace. I hope Fulham do stay up, got a soft spot for them. Palace are also looking like staying up, what a job Pulis has done there, I thought they were gone at Christmas. Cardiff, Sunderland and Norwich to go down.
  9. Very biased view. Im not a big Milner fan but Chelsea U12s is a slight exaggeration which doesn't show much seriousness in your argument. I would say they were wrong to let Gareth Barry away to Everton when he would be a better option. Everton have benefitted from that and England are only shooting themselves in the foot not taking him to Brazil. Secondly Toure is by far the best midfielder in the league and possibly the best player. Fernandinho next to him has been superb and reminds me of Gilberto Silva setting next to Vieira in the invincibles, bit of an unsung hero. Upfront Agureo is world class and Dzeko gets his fair share of goals. Negredo has had a terrific first season in this division but dropped off lately. How any Chelsea fan can accuse Man City of needing a striker when the Great Mourinho would bite Citys hand off at any of their strikers is beyond me. This is the same great Mourinho who only took the Chelsea job because the Man Utd job wasnt offered to him (wrongly IMO). The season is played over 38 games, you could say the same for Arsenal if they didn't fuck up against Stoke and Swansea, they would be going for the title also. And if they didn't lose Ramsay and Walcott they would have probably got another 10-15 goals which would have been more points.
  10. Cheerio Jambos......yet Monday is even more defining for them.
  11. City have got glimpses of the invincible Arsenal team when they play at their best. They have strength all over the park with pace and skill. Next weekends game will be absolutely superb. Im hoping City go there an win it. Pellegrini is likeable. Im against teams getting silly money thrown at them but its strange id rather see Man City and Chelsea win the league than Liverpool who have come up this season by footballing qualities alone.
  12. Should have kept Sturridge and Lukaku.
  13. Quite right from Bayern.
  14. I think they can still go through. They need a big high tempo performance and a 2-0 win could easily be achieved. In some ways when you have to just 'go for it' with home advantage the game plan can be a bit easier. The did it against Napoli the year they wont the CL but PSG are a different animal at the moment. But Id like to see PSG go through. Final 4 of Real, PSG, Bayern and 1 from Barca / At Madrid would be some line up.
  15. I thought they only accepted 8012 tickets, but they have sold 10500? Like Zappa says any result in our favour in this game would be sweet, the last thing I want is a no show and poor defeat. At least compete with them. I cant think of anything worse than losing this tie or the final to Aberdeen on a whimper.
  16. Not being allowed to buy is one thing but not being allowed to sell is a good thing, it means Fabregas, Messi and the likes cant be sold.
  17. Inverness were a good side under Butcher and in the first 10 games of the season the best side in the league. Now Id back them for a bottom 6 finish next year with the same players.
  18. Funnily enough Chelsea have probably got an easier task than Man Utd. They need to win 2-0 at home while Man Utd HAVE to score in Munich. Real are comfortably through but the other 3 ties still in the balance although Munich are heavy favourites.
  19. Probably the best Man Utd have played this season but it still wasn't great. Bayern looked like they could score at any time but man U did have a few chances. Welbeck in the first half trying to lob the keeper - put your foot through it!! The fact Man Utd have to score in Munich is their problem as Moyes will go their defensive but I have a sneaky feeling they could go through.
  20. Well maybe Hearts wont be in the Championship next season! That will screw the money mens plans.
  21. So we get passed the first few rounds next season, and all of a sudden the semi finals contain Rangers, Hearts, Dundee and Dunfermline....and we wont want to win it? Having a laugh, of course we'd want it. We should be setting out for at least 2 trophies next season. If we get a good few cup draws like this season then no reason why we shouldn't be aiming for more. The Championship and Ramsdens should be the minimum like this season.
  22. Music to the ears....Having these guys scouting isn't the same as the jobs for boys and we should be taking Mols up on this.
  23. Butcher hasn't hit the ground running at Hibs although I thought he would.
  24. It has been coming but could be official today if they lose against Hibs. What a game for them to lose. It will get the SPFL and SFA licking their lips at money maker with the only show in town v Hearts 4 times next season.
  25. It changes every week with Chelsea slipping up at Palace and couldn't have happened any sweeter with Terry scoring an own goal. Mourinho is still saying they cant win it, although they still can but need City to slip up somewhere - Anfield is possible and then Chelsea win at Anfield. Its City's to lose now but if Liverpool win today v Spurs they are right in it, and I just don't want to see them win it.
