  1. I know we need the finances but a run in the cup would surely meaning coming up against Celtic or Aberdeen and I am not sure Id like to see us getting knocked out by 1 of those. EDIT - Just realised these 2 are playing each other in this round. So one of them is out!
  2. See what you are saying Craig and my 3-5-2 would be far from a perfect Man U team, I just think to get their best available XI at the moment would have that formation. The amount of work Moyes has got to do is incredible. He has a big squad with a severe lack of World Class. Cleverly, Young, Nani, Valencia, Fellaini, Zaha, Kagawa, Smalling, Jones, Rafael, Evans, Welbeck....and that's not to mention the situations with Vidic, Rio and Evra that you touched on. As good as Ryan Giggs has been and still is I now think he maybe should have called it a day last summer due to the changes. Or perhaps he jumped into the player / coach thing a year to quickly. He could have went out at the top. He still has a touch of class but the last thing he wants to do is finish his career with a poor club season, he deserves better than that.
  3. Agree RE Martinez, he is proving himself to be very impressive and Id love to see them get 4th place. Just a shame he has a relegation on his CV but Wigan were punching above there weight for too long. Id also through Pablo Sousa in there, he had a good season after Martinez. Rodgers carried the baton. There just seems to be a pattern with teams who win a trophy and play in the Thursday night cup, as soon as they get that their form turns awful. Wigan, Birmingham, Middlesboro, Fulham....Now Swansea. Its taken a toll on Newcastle in the past also. Tottenham seem to be coping this season but they spent 100m in the summer.
  4. He quite possibly is a good coach and looking at Dundee's position he seems to have done a good job but then you have to ask why has he moved on? He must be a Chairmans worst nightmare.
  5. I would disagree, I think that would work. Carrick is a holding player who also gets back - granted he isn't a tackler but he can defend. Fletcher would put himself about everywhere and when fit is a box to box player. Rooney is another who tracks back and defends. Man Utds problem at the moment is full backs so if they aren't good enough why play them. Rooneys problem with Ferguson was he wasn't playing enough upfront, so he should easily slot up top with Van Persie and allow Mata a free role behind them. They need to get a quality right back in as Jones is wasted there and Smalling isn't good enough. Rafael has never been Man U standard IMO. In midfield they should bust the bank for Fabregas or Snieder, put one of them in their would change the out look of the team going forward. It will be an interesting summer to see who Moyes gets in.
  6. Improves Swansea last season to a 10th place finish, wins them their first big trophy and a few months later he is sacked. No doubt the Thursday night cup affected Swansea this season just likes its affected others in the past. Bring back the Cup winners cup and reduce the amount of games played in the Uefa cup plus switch it back to Wednesdays...but football is now all about lining fat cats pockets. Laudrup will land a big job, they were linking him with Barca and Real last summer.
  7. I was steamboats last night and read that wrong! The Perth 38oC sun got to me!
  8. What are you disagreeing with? I already said Chelsea were the better team
  9. John Brown shouldn't be allowed near a football team again.
  10. Yeah he was some player. Kinkladze, Ginola and Juninho.....the early Premier league days!
  11. Firhill is available for a game in Glasgow. Glad Easter Road is being recognised, it should be played there. But I think they will opt for Ibrox knowing there will be less empty seats than if it was at Parkhead. Cant see Inverness bringing more than 6000 so that would leave 14000 for the sheep at Easter Road - more than enough.
  12. Dont like to say it but Chelsea were by far the better and for once they played counter attacking football. City couldn't get a grasp on it and Yaya Toure wasn't the same player without Fernandinho. It could have been 3 or 4. Eto should have scored just before the goal then they hit the woodwork 3 times. Cech had a couple of good saves, Cahill was immense at the back and Hazard is a world beater on his day.
  13. Busby Shankley Paisley Stein Clough Ferguson Certainly a good debate within the British Isles in the modern era. Mourinho has won things everywhere he goes but has always has an open cheque book and squads twice as big as most of those names above.
  14. Easter Road is the obvious choice, the game should get 20000 and it will have a good atmosphere. There is no way these teams will fill Ibrox with 50000 so there would be even more emptys at Parkhead. But I hope they choose Parkhead, as Zappa says the thought of Aberdeen getting into Ibrox even if they was playing us isn't a nice thought never mind for a final which I think they will probably win.
  15. I thought Hearts would have filled Easter Road for a semi to get more income but 12000 is poor. Inverness were never going to bring a big crowd so Hearts should have bought up the tickets. But well done Caley, go on and win the thing now.
  16. Craig and I both said that City cant be compared to Bayern at the moment.
  17. He should look at playing a 3-5-2. _______________De Gea______________ ______Jones____Vidic____Evans______ _________Fletcher___Carrick_________ Valencia_______Mata________Januzai __________Rooney____RVP__________ While he is playing Cleverly and Young they will continue to fight for 7th place.
  18. Moyes breaking all sorts of records. Stoke win over Man Utd for first time in Premier League and since 1984. Swansea win first ever time at Old Trafford. Newcastle win at Old Trafford first time since 1972. Everton win at Old Trafford first time since 1992. West Brom win at Old Trafford first time since 1978.
  19. All poor but the Hibs, Hearts and Partick figures are a joke.
  20. My mistake, I thought it was an update on the 'outs'.
  21. If Hutton went for 9 million then he is more than twice the player of Wallace?
  22. It was an insult bid end of. If he was worth 900k then it would have been fair.
  23. Perhaps a year or 2 late. Don't know what happened with Gordon. About 2 years ago he pulled one of the best saves ive ever seen in a premier league game then disappeared. Was a fantastic keeper on his day but I feel made the wrong move at the time going to Sunderland rather than Villa who were a top 6 side at the time. Surprised Simonsen was released, he seems a very sensible signing until the end of the season at least.
  24. If we were in the top flight Wallace' valuation would be around the 6 million mark. I don't see how that valuation could change but being realistic of the league we are in now then clubs like Forest could have bid 3 million for him. They get a 6 million pound player for half price and we double our money. Anything else should be binned. 900k is an insult and Billy Davies a supposed Rangers man should take a look at himself.
  25. People running the game forget that the Rangers support haven't just kept our own club alive but are setting up others for the near future also. Queens Park got 30000 twice last season with an average crown of about 300.
