  1. Twisted Celtic fans couldn't find it in their mind to look at it in the way that IF the draw had been fixed in favour of Rangers its for finance reasons with a big crowd in the semi and possibly final, with sponsors and TV companies all over it due to the story it would make.
  2. I didn't even consider winning the Scottish Cup this season, a good run to the quarters was decent for me but now after that round of games plus the draw I think the cup is there for the taking and Ive gone from any game being a bonus to believing we can lift the cup now. There isn't a team in it who has a better squad IMO. The only worry is we aren't playing full time and top flight opposition week in week out so coming up against Inverness, Dundee Utd or Aberdeen may catch the players out on the day. But lets get past Albion first then see who else is left in it, like someone mentioned earlier I think Dumbarton is a potential upset. The other bonus is our fans wont be making any trips to Pittodrie or Tannadice.
  3. Im with Gav, I see Man Utd going their and winning even with their poor side and manager. Arsenal will play into there hands and Utd will hit them on the counter and score. Arsenal have been consistent this year against the rest of the league but they still don't seem capable of winning against the top sides (by that I mean last seasons top 3 - City, Chelsea, Utd).
  4. In your mind maybe. At least Craig explained his thoughts.
  5. David Pleat on TV now Co-commentating Spurs v Everton just said "Naismith is doing well, one of the few Scots who has come down to England and done well, he is a former Hibernian player".
  6. Couldn't ask for better than that! Home tie first and foremost and avoid the SPL clubs again especially Aberdeen and their fan obsession with us. Getting SPL sides in the semi's and final would be inevitable but to get to the quarters and have this draw is ideal.
  7. I don't think there has been a poor level of support at all. Everyone who was at the game said it was how we should play and we bossed the game, it was more like the Rangers we should be seeing every week. Those not at the game all said its a very good result. Moving on we obviously look forward to the next draw and debate who we get. And going by performances overall this season most think we could come up against a side who tactically beat us due to Ally's past tactics. That's not poor support, that's just saying what we all know. But Friday night proved what we are capable of and that's why I think the only thing to fear is our own game plan rather than the opposition in the next round.
  8. Yesterday morning I felt like we were maybe 2nd-4th favourites but looking at the teams left in it we should be joint favourites. If we get a home tie we should be capable of winning it. Dumbarton Albion Rovers Raith Stranraer or Inverness (If Stranraer can draw with Caley we can beat them) St Johnstone Aberdeen Dundee Utd or St Mirren There is absolutely nothing to consider fearing there and in years gone by that would be a dream line up for us. But I will take anything except Aberdeen away, more so the fact I don't want to play them for non-footballing reasons. But the good thing is its another season without a Celtic match to fund Doncaster and Co. And its another season to prepare for when we do meet them. Next season our opposition should be tougher on paper so will need us to raise the bar again on a weekly basis. When is the draw anyway?
  9. As for Ozil....he looks like he doesn't want to be there and has done for 2 months now. One eye on the world cup me thinks! Its the free transfer Flamini who they miss
  10. This is unreal. Arsenals defence is embarrassing and this has been coming all season. But it all came from an offside first goal which wasn't even a free kick.
  11. Heart says Arsenal, Head says draw. Having seen the line ups though Arsenal do look stronger. Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Wilshere, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud Mignolet, Flanagan, Cissokho, Toure, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge
  12. Looking forward to this game. If there is a fixture where 2 teams will go for it then this one is. Liverpool will fancy it after beating Everton 4-0 in their last home game but Arsenal have a good record at Anfield and Liverpool in General with only 1 defeat in the last 13 league games. If Arsenal perform like they can then they will win but if they are off par they would probably lose. Sitting on the fence at the moment.
  13. They wouldn't need an increase if they played it at a bigger ground, income would have doubled due to the attendance. I just don't see why the league cup final didn't follow suit, give Aberdeen 3 stands with Caley getting the west or east stand.
  14. Couldn't agree more and in place of seats it was the screens which cost the club money. 57000 would have been great. As for Lawwells reply - biggest yes, best far from it.
  15. Davie Provan, Alan McInally and Charlie Nicholas are all good pundits IMO. Its people like Andy Walker who just get the channel changed on them as soon as I hear him.
  16. Of all the games I went to when that goal went in it was the loudest roar Ive heard. Just a shame we let the lead slip, it made the journey home that night feel very long.
  17. Was my thinking also! They were quick enough to withhold anything from us. And then they hit themselves in the pocket by all voting us into the lowest tier.....but lend Hearts 800k, these people are beyond belief.
  18. What is Davie Weir doing since leaving Sheff Utd? If ever there was a job for ex players!!
  19. Fine comments from Ally. But we all knew where the final was going. There was more chance of the final being kicked off at Tannadice then crossing the road to Dens park at half time for the 2nd half than playing it at Ibrox.
  20. Swansea are the team in free fall in the league at the moment, there is always one (Blackpool and Phil Browns's Hull in the past) but I thought Laudrup would turn them around as he plays good football. I now fancy Cardiff to win the derby tomorrow. They may be a bit like Fulham, getting rid of a good manager and replaced him with an inexperienced manager and at the moment Fulham have got worse!
  21. Turnball Hutton talking mince. The only argument I agree with is a final should be played at a neutral venue. But there would be a far bigger crowd at the Ramsdens final if it was played at Ibrox or Parkhead than there will be at the league cup final. When Hampden is ruled out the final and semi finals venues should only be selected when we know who is in it. If Celtic get to the Scottish Cup final this season its a disgrace they will have a home tie. If it went to an OF final then a toss of the coin should decide it although Murrayfield would be a great venue for an OF derby.
  22. Cracking decision as I didn't want to see Aberdeen win at Ibrox, and it shows once again how totally incompetent those running the game are. Easter Road for a Rangers cup final with 36k season ticket holders and a 60000 ground for 2 teams who have about 10000 ST holders put together.
  23. Ive always been a fan of Miller and a) I didn't want to see him leave last time and b) if ever he was going to come back it was a few transfer windows ago. I just feel its too late now. If and its a big if he did come back it would have to be on a short term deal just as a bonus to help the guys upfront now. Daly could be done with a break.
  24. I like Owen Coyle but not being in the top 5 to win it is slightly off the mark. Celtic are clear favourites but after that we could give the rest a game at Ibrox but id actually be more worried about Allys tactics that the quality of the opposition. I forgot Celtic v Aberdeen is this round, which is great as 1 of them is out.
