Summer transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
The pattern of Scottish players failing in Englands lower leagues is continuing. Its shows how far back we are going. 15 years ago we'd have a national team full of English top flight players: Sullivan, Weir, Hendry, Calderwood, Collins, McAllister, Hutchinson all mixing with the best from the OF. Now players are propping up at Exeter and Bristol Rovers, makes you wonder if its worth while going down south now....obviously its a money thing. -
Got to agree with SBS here, Van Gaal has had some success but also had a few poor jobs. He isn't the guaranteed success that some Man Utd fans think he will be. Also the Rooney one will be interesting, I think Rooney has peaked and will only go downhill as he reaches 30.
-
Officially appoint Van Gaal, with Giggs as assistant, and the latter retiring from playing. Ryan Giggs has to go down as one of the best players of all time in the English league and probably goes ahead of Charlton and Best as Utds best ever player. Van Gaal should improve Man Utd from last season but I think he'd have done a better job bringing his own team in and think having Giggs as No.2 has been pushed onto him. But they have to make some real signings in the transfer market as that squad is very average.

Jeez, didn't see that result over the weekend. That is a surprise, I expected Dunfermline to go up after drawing 1-1 in the first leg. That's a bit of a financial kick-in for them missing out on big gates next season v Rangers, Hearts, Raith and Falkirk.
-
Hamilton beat Falkirk, pretty sure Falkirk wont be worried as they get 4 games v Rangers and Hearts which is better than the SPL. Would be great to see Hamilton beat Hibs in the play off though for a number of reasons. It makes the SPL worse and should mean either Hibs and / or Hearts are out of the top flight for at least 2 seasons (that's if we win the league). Also don't want to play Hamilton, weren't they a big voice in the anti-Rangers bandwagon?

I wouldn't wish that on anyone however it doesn't take away the fact that Sutton is a grade-A fud. Even since retiring when you see him on interviews he comes across as a top shelf arrogant tosspot.

Afraid they are one trophy up on Chelsea this year and the FA cup is significant or are Chelseas last few cup wins irrelevant?
-
Next season it will take Dundee Utd about 7 homes games to accumulate that and St Johnstone about 10 games.

Well in the Goons, now sign a striker and go win the league.

Well done, now for the Champions league

The 5-1 against Hearts was the final I was going to post but you beat me to it. That was a display and a half. The semi final beating Celtic was also a cracking match with Laudrup lobbing Marshall for the winner. Also throw in the 1993 final to win the treble against Aberdeen at parkhead.

Arsenal to end the wait today, I think they will turn up and win it in style. 3-0.

Messi pens record £16m + per year deal
Gribz replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in General Football Chat
To think Rooney was earning more is mad, Messi is twice the player and some. -
Scott Gemmill - Is This What We Need At Rangers
Gribz replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
In answer to the title of the thread, its what we needed Ally to do at the start of the 2012-13 season, change the way we play for the long term. Germany have as good a set up as it gets globally so for the U-17s to get passed them is a job well done. -
Scott Gemmill - Is This What We Need At Rangers
Gribz replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
A good read and great to see he is willing to learn and pass everything over. He is doing things the right way on and off the park. -
Matt McKay makes the provisional Aussie squad. And Jelavic is in the Croatian 30.

Lets just hope dire Hibz come down aswell. Would like to hear what happened with Locke. For him to be chopped on thefirst day and have no comment seems interesting.

Will be interesting to see how many ex Bears also make the WC. DaMarcus Beasley and Mo Edu are both in the USA squad.

Ferguson He could ruin Macleod. Someone like Ray Wilkins or Trevor Steven would be the making of Macleod. Cuellar and Bougherra would be my first picks because as it stands our defence is a disaster waiting to happen. Cuellar was one of Villa's best defenders at his spell there then he made the wrong decision to go to a poor Sunderland team. He would cruise the Scottish league for 2-3 seasons. Blood in Gasparotto and McAusland (sp) with those 2 and Wallace / Smith would fill me with much more confidence than McCulloch and Moshni, although the latter does have his moments.

Ally albeit with a heavy salary stuck around during times where we didn't know if we had a team or league to play in, Levein seems sneaky to me and comes in as the off field problems look behind them. It will make beating Hearts next season a bit sweeter.

Another league where nobody seems to want to win it. Real lost with Barca and Atletico drawing meaning they have all dropped points again for another weekend. Sets up next weekend nicely. Barca v Atletico at the Nou Camp with a winner takes all game although Atletico just need a draw. Would like to see Atletico do the double but rather see them win the CL.
