Neil Lennon’s relaxed about Celtic fans’ conduct
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Couldn't he say "I encourage all our fans to behave themselves and just enjoy the occasion" rather than -
Spurs backing up the argument that the Premier League isn't the highest standard. A team going for the CL easily beaten at home by the Portuguese side.

Putting a few youngsters in doesn't mean a new starting XI. Ally could play 1 or 2 then bring 2 or 3 off the bench replacing those starting while keeping the majority of the team experienced. It just gives them first team experience ahead of next season rather than throwing them in the deep end in the Championship.

I kind of wanted to add this to my thread yesterday 'rest of the season' but thought the night after winning the title may be a bit soon. I think next season will be far more competitive and teams will be tougher. I actually think some teams last season tried to play better football than Championship sides do but don't have the physical side of pace to the game due to being part time. We need to strengthen a bit but only if its key long term players, there is no point strengthening for one season then having to do it again next year should be we going up to the top flight. The first place Id strengthen is in the management / coaching side. I hope Ally brings in a fresh face with new ideas and good tactical knowledge. Should be an interesting league on paper with Hearts and maybe another SPL side plus 2 from Falkirk, Dundee or Hamilton.

That's a potential trip!

League title, Ramsdens cup win and runners up in the Scottish Cup would reflect a fairly successful season. The treble would be incredible considering where we are.

League wrapped up, job done. I think the players will play with a lot more freedom for the last 8 league games and we could see a few more heavy scores. but it should be a chance to play a few more youngsters and rest key players for the 2 cups. The Ramsdens will take care of itself but there is no reason why we shouldn't be going full pelt for the Scottish Cup. When we go for it games Id say we are at our best and don't have anything to fear from Dundee Utd at Ibrox. Of course we have to redeem ourselves against Albion first. I suppose the players will want to go through the full league campaign unbeaten and that will be high up of priorities. So targets between now and end of May while playing nicer football: Win Ramsdens Cup Win Scottish Cup Go league season unbeaten.

Before the draw for the quarters were made Man City were giving some people the feeling they were unbeatable but that's probably because they are playing the likes of Stoke and Newcastle. Come up against the European sides and it shows the standard in Europe is better than in England. The Premier league is the most entertaining but isn't the highest quality. It wouldn't surprise me to see Chelsea and Man Utd follow Arsenal and City out. Chelsea still have a job to do and are odds on favourites but I wouldn't put it past Drogba to put them out.

??? Can you elaborate a bit more?

That's a good point Hildy. We don't have 200000 every week like we did at Manchester. But we do sell out our home ground when in the top flight.

Keith Jackson: Derek McInnes can help guide Aberdeen to a cup double
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed the Bristol City job was one to forget. And since he left they have got even worse. I think he saw the potential they have as Bristol is a decent sized city and had plans with a new stadium and wanted to push on in the Championship. -
Aberdeen have 40000 going to the final on Sunday yet haven't sold out their own 21000 stadium for years and even then it had 4000 Rangers fans in the ground. Now Dundee Utd who haven't sold out a 12000 stadium for years want 20000. I am in agreement that all cup semi's and the final should be at neutral grounds but its the SFA they need to get onto, they are the ones who made the balls up of deciding the stadia months in advance with the assumption that Celtic would get to parade the trophy in front of their own fans and stadium. Even the league cup final this weekend would have almost sold out Ibrox making a good atmosphere (47000 tickets sold) now there is going to be a huge section empty.

Arsenal out. A few on talksport saying Wenger should move on but based on this result its unfair. They got a draw in Bayern and were the better team in the first leg until the missed pen and sending off. If the first leg had went their way they would have went through. He is just stubborn with not signing a striker and has horrendous luck with injuries. Walcott never completes a season, Ramsay was over played, Wilshire hasn't been fit for a full season, Ozil and Ox-Chamberlain both got injured tonight, Diaby is never fit.....had all these players been fit for the season they would still be in the title race for me.

That is a kick in the teeth for fans paying money week in week out.

Those saying Ally should stay don't realise when we get to the top flight we will be no more than an mid table team IMO when we should be higher than that. Going through the bottom 2 tiers should be a gimmie and we have done it ugly. I get last seasons start when we had no squad and no pre-season but we actually declined over the season rather than improved. This season is the same, a few cricket scores papering over the cracks and results since the turn of the year haven't been encouraging going into a full time league in July.

If Arsenal don't win it then id like to see Steve Bruce win it for Hull
-
Fully agree unless the person is flying at his current club and deserves a go. The other problem is we may opt for a fresh outsider or foreigner like PLG but the methods wont go down well with players. In the past I wanted Kevin Keegan to come in. His attacking football would be entertaining if anything.

While I agree with you it just seems the modern day footballer holds the cards and there isn't always a respect your boss attitude. Look at Van Persie, he was awesome last season for Ferguson and now he is throwing the toys out of the pram because he doesn't like training methods etc. But anyone on 120k a week should adapt to training methods. Hard to say what players at Rangers aren't happy with Ally and his coaching but id say Templeton is one for sure.

One things for sure I hope its not Barry Ferguson next. Hasn't won a game at Blackpool and are in free fall in the league.

Had to change my password again today saying it expired after 180 days.

He'll always be Super Ally and he deserves a statue outside Ibrox but his managerial period is one to forget. These one-off poor results have happened far too regularly to be shocks. If he is in charge next season he really needs to bring in a fresh face into the coaching team with new ideas and tactical knowledge.

Fair play to Wigan. Man City need to step it up to catch Chelsea. Arsenal should be heavy favourites now.
-
If they don't win the cup this season Wenger should go.
-
Another one who isn't getting the point and jumping to conclusions. Potential new managers IF and WHEN we need a new one.
