    It was just a suggestion but in no means make it a simple 'corner' as such, make a bit more around it. I certainly am in favour of statues more than stand naming though.

    Costa Rica, Algeria, The USA in the recent world cup showed us what team work with no world class players does. Costa Rica came out of the World cup unbeaten over 5 x 90 minutes after playing Uruguay, Italy, England, Greece and Holland - what odds would you have got on that. I didnt think we would see worse than Big Alex McLeish's last season when finishing 3rd in the 2 team league but the football under McCoist has been worse. McLeish playing players out of position was bad but Ally playing 4-5-1 then on occasions being outplayed by part time teams is a new level. We all love Ally as a player and person but its been obvious for too long now that managerial and coaching the team isn't his forte. Whether he would improve with a quality number 2 is another thing but adding to the coaching team isn't something he has even looked at. An example is West Ham, they are used to playing good football and the board have asked Allardyce to go more attacking therefore brought in Teddy Sheringham as a coach over the summer to at least try an improve.

    That was my thoughts. He looked in good shape last season. But to be fair those Puma kits are made for athletes and cyclists or Italian players unless you opt for a larger size or two.

    I agree that a club like ours is going to have multiple legends worthy of a stand being named and there isn't enough stands. We now have Struth and Jardine. As others have said Cooper could have had the same and Greig, McCoist and Walter Smith are certainly going to be legends forever. For me a statue should have been built outside the ground. EDIT: I would rather the corners or areas outside the stadium be named as 'The John Greig Corner' or 'The Sandy Jardine Corner' etc. There you could have the Statue of the man. Over time we will run out of corners but then statues can still be put somewhere outside the stadium for those who eventually get them built.

    Would be like 2 new signings for Villa and certainly add to what they have got.

    There is no way we need 5 defenders on the pitch and such a defensive team to play Falkirk, Raith, QotS, Cowdenbeath etc.

    The difference is Durrant has been there for 4 years and the message doesn't seem to get across.

    And the SFA will get bigger gates with the Rep Ireland and England games at Parkhead! The England game shouldn't be part of the package and it should be at Murrayfield

    I only remember Roberts from the OF game where he went in goals after Woods got sent off but couldn't say how he was as a player. Walters was quality and obviously had great mental strength to just ignore the ignorance of Celtic and Hearts fans when he joined. He could get past a man no problem and whip crosses in plus score. He was on the conveyor belt of class wingers overs the years: Cooper, Walters, Huistra, Laudrup, McCann....although Laudrup was more than a winger.

    You can get into see Bayern Munich with some world champions in their team for 15 Euro's so how they can roll out a ticket for 29 quid to see Cowdenbeath is beyond me.

    Its likely we will for Rangers scores and scorers like last season which Bluebear superbly looked after.

    4 days after the Rep Ireland fixture at the same venue! That's embarrassingly biased. Likely to get 2 full houses - 120,000.

    Assuming Hampden wont be ready after the commonwealth games. But theres a shocker Celtic Park gets it. Why not have it at Murrayfield and get 67000 through the gates.

    Agreed, one off's certainly happen in football and a first friendly of the season for the Premier League champions without a number of first team squad isn't something to get worked up about.     Interesting times for a number of nations. Italy and Brazil need to bring through some world class players again to compete. Spains reaction and response will be interesting. From dominating everything for 6 years to a 'no-show', we'll see in the Euro's whether it was a blip or the team has run its course. Belgium and Switzerland are coming on but the Euro's are going to come with expectations especially playing in nearby France which should suit them. Portugal are falling away and once Ronaldo gets to the other side of 30 and slows down Portugal will be very average. England need to get a manager in who isn't afraid to drop players. Bringing youngsters to a tournament is the easy part, playing them and playing them to their strengths is another thing.

    Player of the tournament is close between a few. Rodriguez is certainly in with a shout and Robben for most of it was up there. Muller would be the other contender for me. Teams like Costa Rica, Chile, Algeria, Colombia and the USA deserve a mention for all punching above their weight. The USA could become a top footballing nation with the resources they have. Belgium were probably the disappointing team. Arrived with much promise and a top squad on paper but didn't impress. Italy were also poor but like Brazil its a poor period for the Italians with no real world class players.

    And people still don't think they can be misled from information. Question everything!

    Just listening to a radio debate about it now. To be considered as the best ever then he does need to do it at the World Cup IMO, that is still the highest level. When he plays at Barca he is part of a top quality team with great players all around him. Maradona went to Napoli and won them 2 titles - and Napoli weren't the best in the country. Its similar to Messi going to a team like Spurs or Everton and winning the title.

    Germany deserved it, strongest team at the tournament. A good thing is Messi wont be compared to Maradona now. Diego won it in Mexico at 26, Messi at 26 bar a few glimpses didn't do much. There was a time in the 2nd half where Messi got the ball near the centre circle and turned away from 1 man then didn't keep going, the difference is Maradona would have got into the box.

    He should at least hit the target from that effort. Good game so far even if no goals. Messi looks good when he gets it, needs to get it more though. Germany stronger in possession and look like they can create more.

    I watched the Quarters and Semi's in UK last week and agree Adrian Chiles should be shafted back to a politics program on a channel nobody subscribes to but I do prefer ITV's commentary with Andy Townsend. Also the UK public are paying for Shearer and Co's BBC trip. Anyway onto the football. If Messi performs to a 9/10 or 10/10 he could win it but if he is below a 8/10 then Germany could cruise this 3-1.
