Suarez - Talent to burn but behaves like an animal.
Gribz replied to TheWee BlueDevil's topic in General Football Chat
None of them have a place in society never mind a football pitch. Biting and spitting are the lowest of the low for me and cowardly acts. FIFA need to clamp down on all things like elbowing etc using TV evidence.- 54 replies

I will be over either Christmas or March however as I wont know until nearer the time I wouldn't be suggesting any specific date. As much as Id like to attend I will just wait to see what is decided.

Cant believe I forgot to hit save in the last 8 games after putting predictions in, Ive dropped to second bottom because of this.

I wonder what the odds was of England not winning a group game and both England and Italy going out of the group with Costa Rica winning it.

Very young to pass away, shame.

Deserves to be kicked out of the WC and have a 1 year ban in football, during that year he should be coaching kids. You cant bite someone once, 3 times when you are on 100k a week shows he needs rehab.- 54 replies

How did Greece manage to nip through! They play Costa Rica in the last 16, so one of them all of a sudden are in the last 8, just shows you.

Are the omens with Uruguay? Brazil: 1962 + 2002 = 3964 Brazil: 1970 + 1994 = 3964 Argentina: 1978 + 1986 = 3964 Germany: 1974 + 1990 = 3964 Uruguay: 1950 + 2014 = 3964

Sports Direct refusing to take back my top
Gribz replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in Rangers Chat
Start following a proper London club then. I got the West Ham away a few seasons ago, I mistakenly put a pin badge hole in it when opening but emailed saying it may have been there already, I had a new shirt in the post the next day which arrived about 5 days later. Now that's customer service.- 31 replies

Brown feels justified in excluding Gough from Scotland squad
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It was a bizarre one I remember at the times, Leighton played most of the qualifiers for Euro 96 but when we got there Goram was No.1, Goram played most of the qualifiers for WC 98 then Leighton was chosen as No.1. Brown was a baffling kid at times. -
Brown feels justified in excluding Gough from Scotland squad
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It benefitted Rangers but there was others who didn't get as many caps at the time also. Ian Ferguson should have had more, Duncan Ferguson stopped playing for the SFA, Andy Goram pulled out of France 98 and David Robertson should have been left back for 6 years. They just didn't want to have a team full of Rangers players. To be fair, centre half is the 1 position Scotland had covered for over 2 decades: Miller, McLeish, Hansen, Gough, Hendry, Calderwood, Weir. -
Summer transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours

Ive always been on the same page as you with regards to Boyd and Ferguson. But after seeing the way our strikers go downhill under McCoist it would be good to have another option. Boyd's work rate and goals for Killie in the last 12 months have impressed me and he seems matured and much more mobile than he previously was. Id take him but himi and Daly could never play in the same team. I really hope Ally adapts an attacking line up next season with Templeton playing a big part. If he is on his game Miller and Boyd would get 50 goals between them. And TBH with Hearts and Hibs in the league Id take any kind of championship win this season. We had our chance to do the pretty stuff in the lower 2 leagues and Ally missed the boat, this season is all about winning. -
Fecking forgot to update my predictions and typically I was going to put 1-0 Belgium plus Portugal to win. Although South Korea would have cost me.

I think you need to buy a ticket to science fiction football and find a competition where all 32 teams are out of this world. Perhaps you are a world beater on the playstation and expect every team on the planet to play like them. No team can click and play every game at the WC like Hollands 2nd 45 mins against Spain. Bosnia are a relatively new team and are already more advanced than England.
-
You are missing the point completely. Over 2 games Bosnia played good stuff for a debutant and I would say didn't deserve to go out. A shocking linesman decision this morning led to them not going ahead against Nigeria. Spain were expected to at least go to the last 8 yet Bosnia were not. On paper and in history of course Im not saying Bosnia are better than Spain. But Spain deserve to go out for a poor show, Bosnia don't. That's my opinion. I could rephrase it and say they are the most unlucky team to go out.
-
Football isn't played on paper. Performances wise miles ahead of Spain.
-
Bosnia and Hercegovina probably the best team in the competition to go out in the first round. They gave Argentina a good game and deserved something from Nigeria, a perfectly good goal chopped off and had plenty chances.
-
Good luck to him, hope he does well. He did a good job for us under the circumstances and was another who stayed when we needed him. Granted running out at Preston isn't as good as running out at Ibrox every other week but career wise League one is a better standard than the Championship and playing away to Sheff Utd is better than away to Queen of the south.
-
If we did get Nerlinger I hope we'd get him on the training ground as well. Wasn't a great success for us a player. That was a depressing summer IIRC, Im sure we sold Gio, Albertz and Reyna and only brought in Nerlinger and Latapy to replace them.

Cant believe I changed my prediction from 2-1 Ecuador to 1-1. Read the previous meetings between the teams and majority was draws. Im the Aston Villa of this league.
-
Portugal and Spain's 3rd and 4th best sides are always strong in the UEFA / Europa and English sides get nowhere. I switch off when teams like Stoke are on, Id rather watch Turner and Hooch. West Ham are a shame, I supported them since I was 10 and used to go and watch a terrific entertaining team but since Allardyce came in they have been ugly. Yet its down to money. Managers like Allardyce and Pulis will deploy awful tactics in order to stay in the top league. Allardyce in particular is a disgrace. Bolton, Blackburn and Newcastle were ugly to watch under him and now West Ham. The latter 2 teams there are known for exciting football. Teams like Swansea under Laudrup and Southampton last season are a breath of fresh air for trying to play the game.
-
That's a point I was going to put. Italy, France and Spain all have similar populations (give or take a few million) yet they can do it on the world stage, in Italys case 4 time. And then Uruguay can produce a team with a population of around 3 million. Its a team game and England have constantly played to accommodate players who only do it in the premier league. Don't get me wrong I love the premier league for entertainment but standard wise its nowhere near the best in the world like people like Paul Merson says on a weekly basis.

This is some game between Honduras and Ecuador. 2 sides just going for it. Well done Costa Rica, didn't see that one coming, fair play to them. Wenger needs to keep Joel Campbell next season, he put the wrong one out on loan and kept the worst strikers they've had (Sanogoals and Bendtner).
-
Italy didn't look great against England, its was Englands poor defence that cost them. Id back Uruguay to beat them if Suarez plays again.
