This is a key point. With hindsight viewing 2 games with Ally's / Kenny's teams gives him a better idea of players abilities rather than what he will see in training. As you say its a full week now and he should have a much better idea. Whilst it is still too short a time to turn things around he can make a statement that appalling performances merits no place in the team. Probably couldn't ask for a better fixture this weekend to get things right.

I wouldn't mind f***ing Cheryl over either. But on the Newcastle players if they are injured they should be on the first train back to Newcastle.
-
Five? bar Boyd they should be able to do that instantly. Should be at least 20 that would make them think harder. Perhaps they want faster pace in training so five is quick but in that case a coach should be taking notes of how many mistake each player makes then they should be accumulated into push ups at the end of the session.

Baffled into why he isn't given a run in our team never mind out on loan.
-
Some of our players aren't Division 2 standard by the looks of things so how do you expect to go up.

Allardyce has been playing cracking football this season with Downing, Sakho and Valencia upfront. Kouyate and Song have been awesome but the problem was as soon as Nolan and Carroll were fit they were thrown right back in the team. Agree RE the northern comment. But word is David Moyes is lined up for there which IMO is no better than Sam. Roy Keane did well there taking them from bottom to promotion. Having just read his book he feels there is unfinished business there. He wasn't getting the right funds to compete according to him. But since then ONeill, Bruce, Di Canio and Poyet have all made them look miserable. I wonder what Advocaat is thinking going there, like whats been said they have got one good player in Defoe. Even Stoke who are horrible to watch are a better product than Sunderland.

Man Utd first performance of the season yet Spurs were garbage. Liverpool were lucky last night, they were played off the park by Swansea in the first half then the goal seemed a huge bit of luck. Sunday will be good but wont be a CL spot decider as Liverpool have got to go to Arsenal next week and still go to Chelsea. Man Utd have City coming up then also a trip to Chelsea plus Arsenal at home so there is still twists and turns yet.

'Even Jose Mourinho would have struggled at Rangers': Kris Boyd
Gribz replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Any excuse. I was neer a fan of Boyd first time around and since he left he has proved a lot of his doubters right except for a spell at Kilmarnock last season when he was playing for his career. Mourinho wouldn't allow players to be so unfit, have no clue and play people out of position. If Boyd thinks that then it just says he and some team mates are unwilling listeners. -
Sunderland are a club who need to look at themselves. They have the structure to be a big club but so many managers haven't managed to succeed there so it says more about the club. They should be looking at Swansea and Southampton and thinking if they can do well why cant we. Allardyce would seem a total fit for that club. West Ham don't look like they will renew his contract (which is crazy after the last 3 years). He is an ex Sunderland player, will want to do well for them after the Newcastle job, he always tries to sign a good level of player so I would see him as next in line. Good luck to Advocaat but I hope his luck doesn't start until next week after the West Ham game.

Im glad I backed Chelsea to win the league at the start of the season. Man city though, what a disgrace. Arsenal are only a point behind them and id back Arsenal to finish 2nd now. Man utd v Spurs today should be a belter.

Rangers fans sign up to repair crumbling Ibrox Stadium...

Jeez even the audi is needing renovated...somebodys nicked the reg plate. -
Did I type Ajax, jeez...really didn't mean that one. A 10 team Euro elite league would be like the SPL, not enough, you would need 2 leagues of 12.

Never seen this kid play except his first goal on his debut.....didn't someone say he was the new Kerkar??? Big Job for Stuarty get in there and sort this out.....I really do like McCall and Im hoping he sways me
-
The EPL argument is laughable. It goes in cycles between Europes 3-5 country elite. At the moment Italian clubs are shocking yet watch Juventus and Inter be up there in 3 years time.... They had this debate on Talksport last night, if there was a top 10 Euro Elite league who would the 10 teams be....good debate. Id say Bayern, Dortmund, AC Milan, Inter, Barca, Real M, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Ajax....based on last 10 years.

Round of applause for those willing to take part....really top notch. But its going to take a mammoth get together and planning to sort it out.....Im willing to take the Project Managers job on board at no cost. -
I really deteste the away goal rule. If there is one rule that should be done away with then its that. Can you imagine a game of snooker, Hendry v O Sullivan and Hendry makes a 65 break. O Sullivan comes to the table and makes a 65 break including the last ball except Hendry potted more reds and lower colours therefore he wins the frame.... This game was a draw. PSG had an extra 30 mins on Chelsea soil to score than Chelsea had in Paris therefore how can that be even? Nice to see Chelsea go out mind....:-)

Stuart McCall officially confirmed as new Rangers manager
Gribz replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
Underwhelming appointment for me. Anyone else feel that? I am realistic in that I know we needed someone in the door yesterday and I have absolutely no doubt about McCalls desire and work ethic and I know he will want to succeed more than anything else, its a dream come true for him but his previous track record doesn't say to me he is the right man. I hope Im proved wrong and its good to have the wee man back at the club as he was a tremendous player. But I had hoped there was a bit more imagination behind the scenes....like 'lets make a statement' that we are on our way back. Jim Jefferies could probably win a few games with us, but he wouldn't be the answer. I really doubt the board would take on McCall for 8 weeks then dump him in the summer. Therefore underwhelming for me. -

Gribz replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
I would imagine he is in the running for it full time if he does well, but anything would be an improvement on what we have seen recently but its an appointment that had to be put in place. As someone said I hope he can make his own decisions and that's the end of McCulloch as a centre half. -
For some reason I have a feeling Ally will get the gig until the end of the season then if he gets promotion he could stay on. But I really hope Im way off the mark. We already missed the boat in starting the football side up again when we went to the lower tier, I sincerely hope the board don't miss this opportunity regardless what division we are in - stay in Championship or go up. The names heavily linked - Butcher, McCall and Davies are really all unappealing. McInnes isn't near top of my choices either but Id rather have him than the other 3. A new gaffer is desperately needed though even if its a short term contract until the end of the season. I would probably accept Walter as he knows how to win games. Strachan would be another who Id quite fancy permanently although my preference is to go down the Dutch route.

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trainer/verfuegbaretrainer/statistik A website with a list of available managers. One I just saw who I would have loved at Ibrox years ago is available - Martin Jol.
-
Weir should have been brought in about a year ago as McCoists defensive coach. As for him being No1 in charge I don't fancy that. He was awful at Sheff Utd. Weir to me seems like he would be a really good coach but not a manager. Isnt Harry Redknapp still out of work? We could do a lot worse than asking him up for the rest of the season. Talk about someone who could motivate the players!!!
-
Id love to see that. It would bring in a total freshness and the dutch set up and mentality has always been top notch. Im very much against the jobs for boys. But I do think the ex players player route can work - if they are the right personnel it doesn't matter where they come from IMO. I hope we stay away from Billy Davies and Terry Butcher and Im not to keen on Stuart McCall long term but he would be a good quick fix for the remainder of the season although I just don't see that as the answer. Other names that we could go for is someone with no previous links. If we could get Glenn Hoddle or Keegan in that would be far more appealing than Butcher or Davies. And bringing in Ray Wilkins as assistant would be a priority for me.

The counter argument to that is that the new board obviously know McDowall isn't the man and need to negotiate his leave, however that wouldn't have been possible within the 24 hours of the EGM plus a match that had to be prepared for.
