Is McCoist going to do the decent thing now?
Gribz replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in Rangers Chat
I just think McCall would be viewed more as the ex player tag. I know Nicholl played for us but almost 30 years ago. I also know Calderwood is supposed to be a Rangers fan but he doesn't fit in with this 'must be a rangers man' things that often gets viewed. As a duo they seem to have good leadership and tactical knowledge. Calderwood likes to play a good brand of football, knows some of the European lower leagues well and with the second most expensive squad in Scotland I think he would put something on the pitch that shows that. Both are affordable if Ally did walk. -

Repetitive that he shouldn't be allowed to continue in the roll. Davies and McCall would both do better but are both unappealing. So many names could do better but would be unrealistic targets. Ive always thought Id like to see Kevin Keegan in charge with Ray Wilkins as his assistant but that boat has probably sailed. A realistic team who I think would do well for 18 months would be Jimmy Calderwood with Jimmy Nicholl, and I would add they could bring in Brian Laudrup as first team coach. -
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30114815 Was one of my favourite players while at Ibrox and scored some big goals in big games.

I see where you are coming from and hence why 1 or 2 results would be swept under the carpet but the list of results is building up, and just have a look at the opposition. The other thing is the level of performance has been dreadful. Im pretty sure we could also go back to pre admin with the Maribor results etc and that was with a pretty decent team. End of the day he just isn't the man who should be leading Rangers, its been known for too long.
-
Morning Pete. Im bamboozled if anyone can defend that record. Alloa (yes Alloa) are a match for Rangers this season. If that list had teams of calibre then it wouldn't have been posted but its part time teams who make up numbers in Scottish football yet Ally is collecting a CV which cant get past them.

A super legend as a player but why is he allowed to still be manager....1 or 2 results could be swept under the carpet but the following shows he isn't the man. Peterhead 2-2 Rangers Berwick 1-1 Rangers Annan 0-0 Rangers Stirling 1-0 Rangers Rangers 1-1 Elgin Rangers 1-1 Montrose Stirling 1-1 Rangers Rangers 1-2 Annan Rangers 0-0 Stirling Montrose 0-0 Rangers Rangers 1-2 Peterhead Rangers 1-1 Stranraer Rangers 3-3 Stenhousemuir Raith 1-0 Rangers (cup final) Forfar 2-1 Rangers Rangers 1-1 Albion Rangers 1-3 Dundee Utd Brora Rangers 1-1 Rangers Ventura Fusion County (no laughing at the back please) 3-1 Rangers Rangers 1-2 Hearts Alloa 1-1 Rangers Rangers 1-3 Hibs Rangers 1-1 Alloa

Absolutely terrible news to learn of that. Bluebear54 fitted in here extremely well and was a poster that I enjoyed reading. He contributed on here very well especially with last seasons prediction league.

Over and out.....Very disappointing way to end a fantastic place but we have seen some true colours here and I don't want to be part of it.
-
My word....another who has just lost my respect.
-
you know my point. You also are defending the undefendable
-
Well that's typical similar to the mainstream media of today...condemnation with no investigation. You didn't even read the posts.....he broke no rules. Sorry but if that's the mindset then I walk from this place.
-
Only if they are crossing the line......Whats your point? SC didn't break the rules so how can he get banned?
-
No, still not having that blueflag.....had I seen a post saying Ally is wanker, tosser and shags wifes then Id agree with you all day long. But it was constantly about his tactics and I agree.....very very harsh decision.
-
Awful reasons. I manage 50 people on a daily basis and don't like when someone takes there lunch 1 minute early.....should I sack them?? Come on....
-
There is a thread with the forum rules. however it must have changed over night without being updated as SuperCooper got banned for nothing that was previously listed. But agreed....please give us the new rules and regulations.
-
Its an opinionated forum for christs sake, we are allowed to say what we want unless we cross a line and SC didn't cross any line. Why should he take a break for voicing what he thinks. McCulloch started the game and I think that's atrocious, do I need to take a break or be banned? Ally doesn't deserve any respect as A MANAGER....and that's what SC was saying. Sorry but defending the undefendable isn't right and Im making my opinion clear on that.
-
Nonsense. I agree that Zappa previously was very admirable and I got on with him on many other topics. But the fact is SC didn't do anything wrong or break forum rules. He simple wasn't a fan of McCoists management. And show me where he went personal and I'll hold my hands up. So are you saying I am getting a warning because I don't like McCoist as a manager. We are not even on the same page my friend!!!
-
What - McCulloch must play / Ally is a genius Sorry to lower myself to this debate but have a cup of coffee mate
-
Agreed. Im disgusted that the most respected Rangers forum has come to so much after 11 years of posting. If SC isn't reinstated then Im out. AND Zappa should be stripped of admin powers...I got stripped for less. Really disappointed. I hope Frankie doesnt come in and sweep up and delete / close threads. if he does then we know where this forum is going.

Tottenham stuffed them 6-1 In a friendly yesterday

I didn't say we played like Liverpool, I meant you could see a footballing philosophy was being put in place and see what his ideas was. That went pair shaped when my baw didn't get to play his PlayStation in the afternoon. The stand out game for me was against dundee utd, it was 2-2 going on 8-2 and was a great viewing.

I drink Heineken out here. Beer isn't the best at travelling (all is imported here except Tiger which is too gassy) but Heineken is by far the best tasting lager.

I think almost every club in Britain can say the same they have had poor showings for years except Arsenal on most occasions despite not winning. But for us 9IAR was tremendous although in Europe bar 93 we was awful, not sure why WS changed it for that. Under Advocaat we were very close to being a complete team in his first 2 years. Had he kept Laudrup and Mols didn't get injured I think we'd have see the best Rangers side in my life time. We probably did have the best side but I still enjoyed the 90s with Laudrup and Gazza better. Eck came in and did OK with Advocaats team, but Eck seems to have that feel good factor when he first goes to a club then its pounding downhill from there and his last season was the worst Ive witnessed probably because I was still going to games around then and haven't been to a game under Ally. But to have a team with De Boer, Lovenkrands, Prso and Ferguson he under achieved. Now PLG (awaits a 30 page thread) started to play an attractive game and had a long term vision which wasn't liked by Ferguson and Co. He didn't accumulate the most points but you could see what he was doing on the park with a brand of football similar to Rodgers at Liverpool who had a poor position year 1 but last year let the title 'Slip' (eh Gerrard ) Who knows what PLG would have done long term but he put together a vision that Ally should have done at the start of this journey working our way back up the leagues. WS just knew how to win and win nicely against Celtic and ugly against the rest and that was enough. Ally has just let it down to a new level and I still feel he should have brought better coaching staff with him and we could have seen a different team under Ally.

This one was pretty unavoidable with the C games, but Hearts next weekend would have surely been a sell out on a Saturday. Still will be a good crowd on the Sunday but 1 or 2 might not make it.
