Id say he was better than Larsson. Although good shout with Larsson, if Celtic ever did try a bit of class it was with him...he was a top notch player. The only other decent Celtic players Ive ever though high of is Andreas Thom and Lambert....the rest wouldn't get near a blue shirt.

Or..... Laudrup_____Gascoigne_____McCall____McCann_____ ___________McCoist_______Hateley_____________ oooompfffff we have had some awesome teams. Cant even get De Boer and Prso in there.

Rangers manager Stuart McCall "sickened" by Lee McCulloch boos
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Rio Ferdinand was a Centre half, Alex McLeish was a centre half, Laurent Blanc was a centre half, Richard Gough was a centre back....Lee McCulloch.... McCulloch was a half decent signing for a left midfield / attacking position....why on earth is he our main centre half at 35 years old? Im the same age as McCulloch and would be embarrassed if I was doing what he is doing. He is ruining himself...he was actually a decent forward. But booing for being in a shirt shouldn't happen. -

Booing isn't on. I remember Craig Moore being booed when he was playing midfield and having a horrendous time but its not his fault and not the answer. However how do fans vent their opinion? Everyone and their Gran knows McCulloch shouldn't be in the starting line up...even more so as a centre half. -
I cant believe Mols was unheard of. He should have been at a top team like Milan or Munich he was that good. Negri was instinctive and a predator. Both were brilliant and a partnership of those 2 would have been devastatingly good. Mols by far the better player though.

A striking problem: How Rangers' forwards have fared this season
Gribz replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Players usually go to the MLS to finish their career. We have brought Miller and Boyd BACK from that league and it is clearly showing. I certainly agree Miller shouldn't have left 2nd time around or could have been brought back before moving to Vancouver but taking him back last year was too late. Ive said all I need to say about Boyd over the years. Kevin Kyle, Jon Daly and Kris Boyd....triplets on the pitch. -
I am guessing Ashley's main aim is to get his Sports Direct advertised in the Champions League, therefore to do that he needs to invest in the club by getting a product on the pitch capable of reaching that level. If he does that Ive no issues with how he runs his other interests. Tad of hopeful thinking.

McCall: Shane Ferguson has 'lifted' Rangers despite not making debut yet
Gribz replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
I think I would impress in training against McCulloch in defence. No harm bringing Ferguson on for the last half hour this weekend against Falkirk. -
He can be mentioned in the same as the other thread of someone who failed when making the grade up. His comfort level has been tier 2 of Scotland. Celtic are welcome to him, however we do need to go shopping for a centre half or 2.

Hope Yogi goes onto win the cup now. Hughes v Houston.....

Has to be a wind up. Nobody can be that thick.

Mike Ashley forced to make U-turn on Newcastle's cup policy
Gribz replied to pete's topic in General Football Chat
Doesn't matter if he takes them serious they aren't good enough right now. Under Pardew they had a chance. Ive always quite liked Newcastle and like seeing them do well. They are a club with huge potential. -
Mikel Arteta: I'll sign new Arsenal deal once fit
Gribz replied to pete's topic in General Football Chat
Quality player. Has struggled in the last 18 months due to Arsenals weakness of not having a proper holding midfielder next to him plus at 33 he is slowing down. A good player for Arsenal to keep on as a squad player next year. They need to rid players like Flamini and Diaby then add quality who go straight into the first team. -
That's the great thing about generations. The poor chap Rousseau in the opening post hasn't seen much greatness when he is referring to Kevin Thomson as an example player The team that went so close in CL in 92-93 didn't have spectacular creativity. McCall, Ian Ferguson, Durrant on its day would have been our central trio if played then. Durrant had a good season but was never the player we should have seen. Mikhailichenko, and Trevor Steven could also have been played centrally to add to the creative side but were more used wider IIRC along with Huistra.

Its stating the obvious but very true: Players make formations. Formations don't make players.

It opens a good question about why players cant produce for Rangers, yet I think the style of football played in Scotland has a lot to do with it, but so does individual attitude. You can throw in a few recent names like Kyle Hutton and Jamie Ness. Both were extremely promising but while Hutton is still at the club he went miles backwards and Ness who moved on doesn't seem to kick a ball anymore or does so in the lower tiers of England. Advocaats squad had everything in his second year. Although we played a flat 4 in the middle it was mostly a 4-4-1-1. The midfielders and wide men were Tugay, Reyna, Albertz, Van Bronkhurst, Ferguson, McCann, Kanchelskis and Johansson (could play as a striker also) and it had everything in the midfield from good ball winners, graft, creativity, width and pace. That team was very near to something special. if De Boer had came a year earlier or even laudrup had stayed to play up with Mols then it would have been complete.

Im pretty sure there is a poll or a competition about who has the best pies in the league. IIRC Kilmarnock won it last time.

Quality. I'll remember to take a packed lunch next time Im going to a game.
