  1. I don't think nobody doesn't want promotion, I think there is 1 or 2 just looking at it away from that and what happens.
  2. Sill trying to work out how Hull gave Steve Bruce a new contract. I think they have gone, its between them and Sunderland and both have horrendous fixtures but Sunderlands cup final next week could be enough to save them. Hull: Spurs away Man Utd home Sunderland: Leicester home Arsenal away Chelsea away Newcastle QPR away West Ham home
  3. I have to admit I can see where the argument comes from of not getting promotion....its gives a new start but TBH we should have had this new start 2-3 years ago when we was in the bottom tier. Unfortunately we had incompetence running us on and off the pitch so I do see where we see the point that we could start again next season rather than struggling in the top tier. Financially I really don't know what the benefits of going up are, we are the ones who bring finance to the others and the SPFLA-Z don't even have a sponsor, they are obvious waiting to see our situation. I really don't want to see us being a mid table side in the top flight, that could set us back longer. Promotion will mean we are back where we belong but after the honeymoon period we could be a disaster. It shows that the King decision is also the top flight playing games again, they obviously fear a strong Rangers.
  4. If Ross County beat St Mirren today they should have enough in the last 2 games to avoid the plays off then it will come down to Motherwell and Kilmarnock.

I was going to say, delay as long as possible so they know what division we will be in next season.
  6. I agree with categorising it especially for goalkeepers Best Goalkeeper Best Defender Best Midfielder Best forward
  7. I do think international football holds weight. More so pre-2000 as the CL has probably surpassed it now but in 1960-2000 international was still the peak especially pre CL group format. When you mentioned what Best and Giggs did at international level - they have to be given the chance first. Messi has had 3 WC's and barely shown up at any of them, and Ronaldo. Where as the fat ROnaldo and Zidane did it at both levels. Therefore as club football is at the peak, could Messi and Ronaldo shine in say the Seville team and win them the league? Possibly but unlikely.
  8. I said on the other thread a fiver entry fee would be the way
  9. The cash flow around the Spanish league is shocking, if the other clubs get a fairer proportion then the dominance of the big two will come down and Atletico Madrid and Valencia will get a lot closer.
  10. The Messi arguments are out again claiming him to be the greatest ever. People tend to live in the now with decisions like this plus its a generation thing. There is no doubt Messi is currently the best and the best of a generation but as or all time best its still a no for me. Its an argument that has no answer, but would be interesting to see who is the best from YOUR time watching football. Maradona IMO cant be touched. Imagine how good he would have been today with the better pitches and easier game where tackling has become a foul. He was unplayable in the 80s. He also did it with Napoli who weren't in the top 5 in the world like Barca is now. I also think Zidane is still ahead of Messi as he also won the WC, Euro Champs, CL..... The Fat Ronaldo was also sublime. In my generation I will go. 1. Maradona 2. Zidane 3. The real Ronaldo (Messi could surpass him very soon though)
  11. The 3rd goal in the 94th minute has probably finished the tie.

    Lets imagine

He nicked my summer football and league reconstruction. Therefore I will through in that Id like to remove fat cats from the game and Id bring in more ex pro's into the business side. There is nothing wrong with genuine business men and women being involved in the running as they would be really needed but there would need to be a link between the running of the game and ex players / managers.
  13. Happy birthday mate.
  14. Good win and I had a wee flutter on Juve as well. I have fancied them to win the CL since the last 16 but with Real getting an away goal id see them as clear favourites to go through. I'll put last nights winnings onto Barca tonight.
  15. Agreed but Messi beating him in the final would be nice.
  16. Juventus v Real Madrid Tough one to call but Juve will know if they are going to reach the final they have to win the home leg. I fancy Juve to win this one 1-0. Barcelona v Bayern Munich Barca will want revenge from 2 seasons ago's 7-0 agg pumping. Plus they haven't won the CL for 4 years now and know Munich and Real have. They seem to be peaking at the right time with the front 3 unstoppable. Pep will know everything about Barca though. Munich got a shock in Porto but came back well. Its probably because they are so far ahead of everyone domestically. Im going for Barca 2-0 in the 1st leg.
  17. But because it was Stuart Pearce on the receiving end that one can be let go
  18. They should make it 16 or 18 but to fill the weekends up, shift the league cup to weekends, have a xmas break and bring back the Tennents sixes
  19. On another thread I posted that the players should be spending the full week utilizing our facilities which include a pitch like we are about to play on. Inverted decisions from the manager, the managers office must have a spell on it. If we lose 3-0 again he will look some fool. If we win 3-0 then its a different story.
  20. League construction decided!??! Maybe they cant risk Rangers not going up so they will bring in a 16 team league after all with no relegation, Rangers Hibs and QotS being promoted with Hearts.
  21. Not for me. Done pretty miserably at club level and is as arrogant as they come.
  22. Seems like there is going to be a manager merry go round, Moyes linked with West Ham with Allardyce going to Sunderland. Meaning Advocaat being available, id take him back if he would come.
  23. Both! Would be a tad ironic if McCall ends up playing against his former team (Motherwell) in the final.
  24. Just stupidity all round. What it should be is 4th place v 11th SPL and 2nd v 3rd....winners play each other.
  25. I was kind of hoping to see Villa go down. A lot of pundits were saying Newcastle were already safe with 35 points, no way were they after Sunderland, Leicester and Villa having all winnable games yesterday. I thought Hull were going to be the 3rd team to join Burley and QPR but they have won 2 and I fancy them to get another point off Arsenal tomorrow. Therefore Newcastle could be heading down. They only thing going for them is they have decent fixtures.
