  1. The only thing Id put to that was Advocaat had us playing at a level I thought was magnificent and we could give anyone a game in 1999-2000 season. But that was an expensive team, what Warburton is going one better on a fraction of that budget and he is also doing it behind the scenes and off the park aswell with putting things in place and a footballing attitude that I haven't seen before.
  2. Come on, at least spell the great mans name right. Outstanding player, best ever for me to pull on the jersey and an outstanding person also.
  3. Promotion is almost a banker. I would imagine the Ramsdens Cup will be lifted at the 4th and final attempt. For the League Cup and the Scottish Cup I am still not too bothered about these until we are further down the road with stability and the feet are back on the ground. Obviously a win or a good run will be promising but promotion is the first and foremost care for me. I think we have a good chance in the league cup, I believe we will beat St Johnstone then its all about the draw. But a footballing structure will be achieved for the years to come....
  4. In a few games we have already hit a few scorelines that should have been done much more regularly in the last 3 years. Not to mention performances.
  5. We would need to beat Poland at home in October plus the 3 pts from Gibraltar in the last game to have a slight chance of a play off and that means we need Germany to win in Dublin and Ireland not to win in Poland. Its going to be tight but even a point against Germany still makes things difficult as Poland at home is a tricky one also. We will only get a chance of 2nd place with 3 wins and that's unlikely. If we beat Germany then id have another look at it but Germany still need to pick up points, on one hand that's bad as they could come to Hampden and rip us up but on the other hand they may also need to beat Ireland. Im looking for Georgia to do us a favour against Ireland, if they could pull a draw out of the bag there it would sweeten things but there is also the case of only 8 play off spots and we could end up being the worst place 3rd team as the wins against Gibraltar will be deducted.
  6. Annoying....this video is not authorized in my region. I often get that from Sky website.
  7. Id go one further and say a win is needed. Id imagine Rep will beat Georgia at home plus Poland will be getting 3 pts from Gibraltar.
  8. Fully agree, and that would even sound better.
  9. I was certainly one who shouted for Warburton to be appointed the second he was available after what he did at Brentford, I knew he was good but I couldn't imagine he would be this good. Im not just talking about 8 victories but he is putting in a philosophy footballing structure that we have been crying out for which will set us up for at least a decade if the men steering the ship keep it right. It just goes to show you don't need a 'job for boys' man in place and an outsider with no links to the club can succeed. Ok Weir is with him but I would only class Weir as an ex player (true professional) and not exactly 'one of the boys'. Its the same as class ex players like Laudrup and Wilkins, they could have had a role within the club and would have concentrated on the footballing side. With hindsight we will look back at last seasons failure in the play offs as a real gift!!! That might sound bizarre but it was one step back to take 2 giant strides forward. I can only see things getting better this season....
  10. Bad result and bad timing. Just means we have to beat Germany which couldn't be a more tricky task. It will be another glorious failure although it was a slightly tricky group. Good on Northern Ireland and Wales though, I will be hoping they both win their next game on Monday to qualify.
  11. Not sure what you are talking about. I concentrate on a team being run by Strachan.
  12. Its great still having a game to look forward to even during International weekend. And a great read BTW.
  13. The marketing side should be pushing it more and making it more attractive especially for overseas fans. I tend to mess about finding a link which can be a problem rather than signing up for the season.
  14. 2 huge matches coming up. Georgia away tonight is massive, defeat would make things tricky to qualify as Rep Ireland will beat Gibraltar to allow them back in it and then we have Germany so could be 4th by next week. 3 points is needed although 4 from the 2 games would be massive. Poland play Germany tonight also so something has to give there, so even more cause to get the win in Tbilisi.
  15. Probably only a draw or 2 needed from their remaining 3 games to qualify for Euro 2016 - first tournament since 1958. Although they can confirm it by beating Israel in their next game. Fair play they have 1 superstar then a team of good organisation. I can remember their glorious failure in 1993 for USA 94 where they led Romania in Cardiff onlt to miss a penalty then let Romania win 2-1. Don't think they can or will slip up this time. Northern Ireland also in the running to qualify but Netherlands have it all to do after losing at home to Iceland last night.
  16. Id be interested but it may be tricky to run picking a team. Perhaps score predictions of the games might work??
  17. Not one I have heard of before even though Im from there.
  18. That was a cracking song. 1990 IIRC
  19. If Ally can win League one undefeated this team can win this championship undefeated although there is likely to be an off day somewhere down the line. All we can say is its 8/8 and 100% perfect so far and the most impressive footballing structure at Ibrox for many a year.
  20. Born in 1995, the year Gazza signed, that makes me feel old! Always thought Gasparotto should have been in the squad in the least couple of seasons.
  21. Im happy with the squad and I think Warburton is thinking ahead to next summer already. He will assess this squad over the season, he knows its good enough to get promotion but will add to it when necessary for a tougher league next season. 3 of this squad are in on loan and will obviously go back to their clubs next summer meaning Warburton will know he has 3 more places to fill and I would guess he already has players in mind.
  22. If he stays fit then its a good addition.
  23. Southampton did themselves a favour going out. That tournament is horrendous and ruins your season playing every Sunday.
  24. A strong 2nd shout but Id rather Dundee Utd. Its more personal with Utd. Motherwell just beat a poor Rangers side, they will be taken care of next season if they stay up.
  25. Dundee Utd for me, preferably at Ibrox but a nice wee score to settle with them first.
