This is a royal pain for me also and prevented a meet up with you and a few others, I am due over the day before the original game and thought id get down for it. As is stands I wont be able to go down on the new date.

Watched the 2nd half of this game, not like a Pulis team to lose a 2 goal lead at home. Everton are a better team this season not having the Europa league. They have Liverpool on Sunday and I think they will win that as Liverpool have Sion on Thursday. I saw Everton in the summer tournament and thought they were very ordinary, yet Arsenal looked electric so pre season tournaments cant be taken too seriously. Lukaku was awful then and I couldn't believe they paid 27m for him.

Massive shoes to fill. Warburton had them punching well above their weight. Their loss was our huge gain.
-
Warburton joins the common sense club. Everyone sensible knows a 16 or 18 team league would work. And 4 divisions HAS to be reduced to 2 or 3. Falkirk, Hibs, and QofS could hold their own in the top flight right now along with us so that's 16 straight away. Playing teams twice a season is more interesting for the fan, its only the money men its unappealing to.
-
This is the first time I can recall Messi being injured for a significant period in his career. He was injured prior to the world cup but just wasn't fit then. This will be interesting to see how Barca do without him.
-
I think the team has a youthful look at the moment, what I would like to see is an experienced head in there. Eustace may well be that guy. IMO that may bring us on another step. Miller should be but he isn't first pick so cant influence during the 90 mins. Its still a new team which will grow over the winter months. Warburton will have a better idea in December of what he needs to add. There is something not right with Celtic (quite a lot actually), perhaps a 4th year with no Rangers is dragging them back even more. They will likely still win the top flight as Aberdeen will fizzle out but id be much more confident playing Celtic this season than last.

I certainly didn't see Spurs hitting Man City 4-1. That's 2 league loses for City now which opens up the race just nice. But Man Utd just don't look right at the top of the table for some reason. They aren't even playing well yet are there so they can probably only improve. Big win for Arsenal. West Ham slip up at home again. Needed win for Rodgers and Liverpool. Chelsea

FIFA president Sepp Blatter under investigation,
Gribz replied to pete's topic in General Football Chat
I think both sides are all bought and paid for. I don't think Platini is an angel either and has come up with some crazy ideas in the last few years. I like the idea of a ex footballer in charge there, and thought Ginola was the most genuine contender. -
Different divisions of teams, Southampton horsed MK Dons 6-0 in the English League cup but I wouldn't judge MK Dons on that result. Also a different competition. Aberdeen are over achieving and they were due a defeat.
-
Yeah but you cant say that's a dip in form
-
They aren't a banker for 2nd, Falkirk look as good as them. Anyway why worry about Hibs? 12 months ago yes but not now....
-
Dip in form? Because we aren't winning 5-0 every game!!??? If we draw our next 2-3 games then the words dip in form can be said but right now our form is flying. As for Falkirk and QofS, they are likely to be 2nd and 3rd in this league, they will push Hibs all the way.

Always annoys me whenever a manager is sacked the board always says 'we would sincerely like to thank...." its patronising. I wonder if McCall would be considered for a return there.
-
Costa gets 3 matches rightly so. Gabriel's reversed which is lucky, perhaps could have been reduced to a 1 game for a second yellow. As mentioned before Chelsea now have to go into 3 games with Remy or Falcao neither who look top notch at the moment.
-
Not quite. I cant see John Brown or Ian Durrant being ambassadors. Like Craig says the term 'global' shouldn't mean global, it should be filled with respected former greats in all continents.
-
If the Gentleman that is Brian Laudrup says Gough was the main person in the dressing room then that says it all. In todays market Gough would be a 30 million pound defender.
-
There was certainly a strong impact on Koscielny's chest and he didn't expect it hence him falling over. Costa was at it the full game, asking players to get booked, a swipe at Oxlade-Chamberlain...... I hope he gets 3 matches, Chelsea will suffer that more than Arsenal losing Gabriel for 3 games.

It would be interesting to know how many of those who think we should always wear red, white and blue disagree with past orange tops also, and I guess the black one?? I still liked the purple kit in 94-95 although don't know why we had it. The one we have this season is shocking. I don't mind teams wearing an away kit away from home on occasion. The best matching home and away tops was 92-93 during the Champions league run, when the away matched the home bar the colours. Relive lots of strips here http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/en/teams/r/rangers/old-rangers-football-shirts-t172.html

At home to Leicester and Bournemouth West Hame were poor, but to be fair to Leicester they have started well and I think we under estimated them. To beat Newcastle at home last week was a monkey off the back and puts that two previous home games to bed so we can kick on now. Norwich at home next, big test to see if Bilic can get it right when expected.
-
Yeah but looking back at them, its almost as they were won through being full of revenge with that the sole thing getting us through. It was one off games and under Ally we won 1 or 2 cup ties but I was never confident that team would even be a top 4 Premiership side never mind challenge for the title. I would put McCall's reign in the same boat. I know Warburton has brought a lot of faces in but even if McCall was given the job I didn't see him setting up a new footballing structure that Warburton has done. Now we have a picture / plan of the next 3-5 years and playing the top flights teams in Cup Competitions this season is good practice and a gauge of how the team will perform. Im looking forward to this game more so than any of the matches against top flight opposition in the past few years, even the Semi Final against Celtic.
-
I wanted to avoid all top flight teams in the past 3 years but now feel we are ready to take on any of them. It will give us a good measuring stick of what may be needed next season.

Dunfermline sign former Rangers midfielder Rhys McCabe

There is a growing list of young players who are in this boat, Mccormack, Ness, Wylde, Macabe, Fleck to name a few. -
That in itself settles the debate for me - a Chelsea fan admitting it. As for saying it with red tinted glasses - I have certainly admired Arsenals football over the years and like way the club is, nothing wrong with that, I could say the same for Swansea. But yeah - a West Ham fan who is gutted is didn't put anything on them yesterday at 11/1.

What game you watching? He Swang at Koscielny after grabbing him in the face the his body weight knocked him to the ground - it wasn't a fall at all. Ant at half time they clearly showed Costa turning away and stopping on purpose right behind Gabriel looking for further agro. Plus he kicked out at Oxlade Chamberlain - he should have been sent off twice. The Gabriel v Costa thing goes back to a Villareal v A Madrid game a few years ago. Both were silly but both should have walked.
-
0-0, not a great game until it kicked off with Gabriel and Costa. Cheating tink Costa got Gabriel sent off when he was equally to blame plus he hacked Koscienly (sp) twice. Ref didn't even see the kick but sends him off. Ruining a potentially good second half.
