Dunfermline sign former Rangers midfielder Rhys McCabe
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
There is a growing list of young players who are in this boat, Mccormack, Ness, Wylde, Macabe, Fleck to name a few. -
That in itself settles the debate for me - a Chelsea fan admitting it. As for saying it with red tinted glasses - I have certainly admired Arsenals football over the years and like way the club is, nothing wrong with that, I could say the same for Swansea. But yeah - a West Ham fan who is gutted is didn't put anything on them yesterday at 11/1.

What game you watching? He Swang at Koscielny after grabbing him in the face the his body weight knocked him to the ground - it wasn't a fall at all. Ant at half time they clearly showed Costa turning away and stopping on purpose right behind Gabriel looking for further agro. Plus he kicked out at Oxlade Chamberlain - he should have been sent off twice. The Gabriel v Costa thing goes back to a Villareal v A Madrid game a few years ago. Both were silly but both should have walked.
-
0-0, not a great game until it kicked off with Gabriel and Costa. Cheating tink Costa got Gabriel sent off when he was equally to blame plus he hacked Koscienly (sp) twice. Ref didn't even see the kick but sends him off. Ruining a potentially good second half.

Maybe yes if we haven't been cuffing teams every week playing good football
-
That's a fair stat and shows the style of football we must be playing. I would guess it will come from a corner and a defender will nod it in.

Its a debate for generations but from my point of view he is the best player to wear the Blue Jersey and to grace Scottish Football. Gascoigne was immense on his day, De Boer a class act and you have to say Larsson was world class but Laudrup pips them all for me. Im going looking at it from early 90s when Id appreciate a player although did start watching the game mid 80s as a wee lad.

A wee bit of goosebumps with some of the commentaries.

tims 2 Ajax 1 H.T...we need to be there
Gribz replied to colinstein's topic in General Football Chat
Its a shame to see a poor Ajax team, like AC Milan I think the CL would benefit from those type of teams being strong. The Dutch league isn't strong but the national team still seem to perform despite their current form in the Euro qualifiers, but 3rd in the WC wasn't bad for a league that isn't in the top 4 in Europe. -
UEFA screwed up by introducing the Europa League, there is far too many teams in it. To make interest for it they should switch it to a Tuesday and have CL games on Wed and Thurs as currently its like after the lords mayors show. Most of the teams in the CL play on a Sunday for domestic TV anyway so it wouldn't make much difference to them every second week. I cant see a 3rd tournament coming back anyway the CL is far too ahead due to 3-4 teams from certain countries being in it. I can only see it going the other way with CL being expanded and I wouldn't be surprised if it became more global with MLS and south amercian sides.

Not surprised to see Arsenal slip up. Plus Wenger made a changes, Ospina, Debuchy, Arteta was all brought in.

Is Delia failing a season too early for us?
Gribz replied to calscot's topic in General Football Chat
I probably agree with you there, I couldn't step foot back into the city for 25 years without it getting mentioned. Celtic winning the league is a team winning a 1 team league so doesn't have so much value. But Aberdeen wont keep it up all season, they will drop points against Hearts in their next game. -
I think Chelsea will win but Arsenal have a banana skin. Good luck with the bet though.... It must be a mental block with City, they couldn't do it under Mancini either, but as you say with Aguero, Toure and Silva they should be doing better. Just shows you the Premier League standard isn't as high as people make out.

Harsh mate..... I still standby the opinion Buffel was a cracking player on his day. I was just mentioning to WhostheDado the other day about the last Euro game I was at 3-2 win v Porto in 2005 and Buffel was immense that game. Sebo was all heart and certainly gave his all. He wasn't Maradona but he always gave the effort.

Both Manchester clubs throwing away a lead. Not surprised about Utd's score but I thought City would get things right this season in Europe. I wouldn't be backing Arsenal or Chelsea tonight in their games.

Gribz replied to calscot's topic in General Football Chat
On the other side of the coin, Aberdeen are probably peaking too early. McInnes is doing a fine job there but I cant see them sustaining it over a season. Hearts came out the blocks well also but have lost their last 2. -
Man Utd drawing with PSV and City ahead against Juventus. I see Mourinho is at it again in his press conference. I would bet that Barca will be the first team to retain the CL this season.

Monthly prizes for Mark Warburton & James Tavernier
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Does nobody think Stubbs should have got it? -
Probably a level up from the Scottish Championship....yet not under Warburtons Rangers. A poser who has rightly left the club. Fair play for sticking around when we needed players but betting against us???
-
Cant believe people thought he had talent...he was an absolute disaster. One of the worst players to wear a blue jersey.
-
Yup you probably are. Can you explain how you think he was right....we have seen players die on the pitch recently so for tactics to be more important than that then its a joke. Horrendous comment.
-
Think he is finally being found out, he sulks if he doesn't get the players he wants which says he cant manage unless he is happy. He swore at Martinez because he was second in the press conference after the game - as you say, cunt of a man...terrible manners. Martinez oozes class. Id love to see Chelsea finish outside the top 4. There is no doubt about it, the doctor issue has made him lose a lot of respect from everywhere and fair play to her, she isn't backing down. If Arsenal go their on Saturday with confidence they could give them a hiding.

Have to disagree Pete, Hughes was a nightmare.

What a start for the predictions!! Well done that man.

We get a lot of Satay for that! I do miss pies though. And welcome to the forum.
