1 point between the top 3. Sunderland win today and it will be 3 points between the top 4. Usually one team runs away with this league but if we get a battle then it will be great. Plus the play offs usually have about 8 teams chasing with 5 games to go.

He is, thats why he only goes for freebie managers (pellegrini was peanuts to come back from China, Moyes twice was available, Lopetegui was free)
-
Talking of captain, do you think that Raskin will keep the armband? I think he should, he has raised his game. Tav can still be club captain but team captain should be Raskin
-
Might have to change the Spurs Newcastle score to 4-4. Its 1-1 after six minutes
-
Hope you are right, thats the two I want back in the Prem, two huge clubs. And looking at the fixtures a Lancashire derby with Blackburn v Burnley. Must be up there with one of the oldest derbies in the UK.
-
Rooney will be back on Sky as a pundit. Lopetegui at West Ham sounds like a matter of time, its Sullivan's tightness (thats money related) thats keeping him in a job.
-
This league is hard to keep up with, Sheff Utd hit a blip and drop out of the top two, all of a sudden Leeds and Burnley are up there.

Most difficult MOTM all season, usually its because we are struggling to give pass marks, however as its been said everyone had great games. Hagi and Cerny were unplayable and Raskin was outstanding. The application and determination was the best Ive seen in a long time. Ive opted for Cerny, he was just more direct and running with the ball. But both Cerny and Hagi play like that most weeks then give them new contracts.

I see Hagi senior was at Ibrox the other day - what a sensational player he was and was a hero in my teens for most in my school. Him and Stoichkov coming from eastern Europe were brilliant. I also watched a Michael Laudrup programme the other day, I didnt realise how good he was - so whilst Brian was my biggest hero I now think Michael was the better player.

Alright Chaps, missed a round of fixtures. And I'll be getting back on the best XI topic with foreigners. How is Ange still in a job, I thought the Spurs fans would have driven him out with his last couple of results. I expect Newcastle to go there and win today. Forest keep on romping, 5 wins in a row but they have a tricky away tie to Wolves on Monday who have picked up since the new manager came in. Tottenham 1-3 Newcastle Bournemouth 2-0 Everton Aston Villa 2-0 Leicester Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea Man City 3-0 West Ham Southampton 1-1 Brentford Brighton 0-1 Arsenal Fulham 2-0 Ipswich Liverpool 3-0 Man Utd Wolves 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Belated Happy New Year to you all.

Perhaps a wee theme we should run is to pick the best Premier League Era XI. With the talk of Salah's contract there was an article to rank Salah with some of the best Attackers the league has seen, the list was quite phenomenal. Shearer, Henry, Drogba, Cantona, Bergkamp, Cole, Rooney, Ronaldo, Salah, Giggs etc etc. I pretty much had a set n stone XI for a number of years but it can be changed easily now but I usually like to only include players who have hung up their boots. They ran a similar one about Van Dijk to rank the best centre halfs but they got this list way off and included Stones when he couldnt get near a host of defenders. (Ferdinand, Terry, Kompany, Desailly, Adams, Campbell, Stam, Vidic, King) My original best XI was this: Schmeichel Neville Adams Stam Cole Ronaldo Gerrard Vieira Giggs Shearer Henry Kyle Walker will definetely go ahead of Neville, De Bruyne will have to get in the midfield and Salah has got to be knocking on the door. I think I will come up with an English XI v a Foreign XI.

Ah ok. Im overseas so not aware of that.

Merry Chrimbo everyone. 🍻 And to end the debate thats going around Slade Merry Christmas is Thee best Christmas song, its a no contest. Home Alone is the top film followed closely by Christmas Vacation. Die Hard is one of my favourite films of all time but it is not a Christmas movie despite being set at Christmas.
-
Yes. Definitely should be a TV game. I dont get Liverpool at home to Leicester being a TV match - obviously the overseas contingent dictating this one, yet it will be a 4am kick off in the far east.
-
Big fixture card on Boxing day which is good to see. For a few seasons 2 rounds of games were spread out with 2 games this day, 3 games that day and it got confusing. Plus nothing like everyone playing near enough the same time. I know Everton have just kept clean sheets against Arsenal and Chelsea but surely City have to click eventually. Man City 2-0 Everton Bournemouth 1-2 Crystal Palace Chelsea 1-1 Fulham Newcastle 2-2 Aston Villa Nottingham Forest 3-2 Tottenham Southampton 0-2 West Ham Wolves 2-2 Man Utd Liverpool 4-0 Leicester Arsenal 3-0 Ipswich Brighton 1-1 Brentford

If we win on Boxing Day then I will be certainly going into the NY game believing its possible.
-
Amazing kits aswell. The home was only outdone by the one that succeeded it.
-
He will get time, although he may run away with the mess he has walked into. Glad he is taking a stance with Sulky Rashford. I bet Ten Hag is sitting on his sofa laughing with the bucks tucked in behind the sofa. Spurs result was not a surprise, Ange is going full pelt like its the SPL but Levy just doesnt back his managers, they dont have any depth at all. Wolves get a good manager in and suddenly it clicks, I think they will stay up now.
-
They dont make them in Italy like this anymore.
-
Ive no pics to upload but one past hero of mine in the early 90s was Roberto Baggio. Absolutely loved how he just glided through the middle past players and could score any type of goal.
-
Good job. 5 results out of 5.

Villa were outstanding, played brilliant counter attacking in the first half then Emery being a genius switched it to being on the front foot in the second half. 2-1 flattered City who are a mess. But its good to see. This started at Tottenham in the league cup when they were laughing on the bench. Nottingham Forest - what can you say - Top 4 at Christmas, brilliant from them.
