The cup organisers need to bring the final of this competition back to October / November. Absolutely pointless having the semi's in October then a 4 month wait for the final. This tournament had interest until the messed about with it.
-
Fair enough. We don't have to wait until new years eve to get level with them. Rangers v Morton final then.
-
Morton would be nice. But Id quite easily take Aberdeen at Hampden. A display like the semi against Celtic in April see's us beating anyone.
-
Jammy....wouldn't mind them in the semi at hampden.
-
I have heard of 2 of their players. If we don't beat this team on Sunday something is far wrong.
-
Friday night away to Hearts would have been some atmosphere. Edinburgh' finest will be glad of that postponement though. But will probably still be an evening game midweek. As for cup semi - the last four / five in the cup are: Rangers Morton Celtic Aberdeen / St Johnstone Morton would be nice but nobody to fear.
-
That was a Friday night match to for the cameras.
-
Rule Britannia, Im more into that and its by far more effecting for winding up.

No thanks to GSTQ. We are Rangers...Super Rangers.....

Found it difficult in a decade when 1) We haven't played them for over 4 years. 2) Won on our last 3 trips. 3) haven't lost to them since 2009 (7 years) at Pittodrie not to mention a quarter of a century at Ibrox.

Results against Gibraltar and Israeli sides along with Inverness and Alloa shows they aren't a good side at all. The OF match was a one off IMO. Results in OF games over the years have thrown up 5-1s 6-2s etc and doesn't reflect the true differences in the sides. Just realised Aberdeen play Thursday night in their Quarter Final against in form St Johnstone - that can only be a good thing for us on Sunday having 48 hours extra rest.
-
Exactly what was needed. 5 goals and a second clean sheet. A good ending to a few rough days. Waghorn hattrick at the perfect time, that's him up and running. Now the manager has good problems to deal with - who does he pick for Sunday. Glad that Holt and Windass was a precaution, I would have rather went with a weaker team than risk those two. Excellent confident booster for Sunday. QotS are no mugs, they are top of the Championship and easily on par with some of the Premiership teams.

Club Statement: Joey Barton suspended for three weeks
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I wondered where the Guardian interview came from so quickly. The guy is showing his true colours and obviously is still immature. Don't think he will be pulling on the Blue jersey again. He talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk - that should be his final chapter in the new book. -

Obviously he crossed a line whatever did happen. But going on National Radio probably added to it along with calling the manager 'Warbs'. Barton had his first season at Burnley where he only made headlines on the pitch, I thought he had maybe matured and was coming to Ibrox to use his experience in cementing Rangers back into the top 2 in the league. But he obviously is still a ticking time bomb. He should have done his talking on the park. The manager must have consulted the squad and got their opinion as harmony is important to MW, if Barton was being a bad apple then he will stay away. A cooling off period of 3 weeks is a good decision and a lot can happen in that time. If Barton goes away and trains well then comes back and apologies, keeps his head down and tries to win his place back then fine but that is unlikely with the person he is. The likelihood is his contract will be mutually terminated and result in us paying him off to go find another club. He will get good money in China, MLS or the Middle East where being outspoken wont go down well or understood. -
It all depends how match fit Crooks is along with the other doubts like Rossiter and Dodoo. Id like to see Senderos and Hill together. Hill may still be able to do a job and the more matches he gets should help. He should be starting at Pittodrie on Sunday anyway so give him an hour today then a day off. Id rest both Wallace and Tavenier, both are too extremely important at the moment as we are very light at full back. But Ive no idea who could come in at LB. Gilks Hodson Senderos Hill ???????? Holt Crooks Halliday O'Hallaran Garner Forrester

I say don't even look at the other results and concentrate on our own game. A win at Pittodrie puts us back up the league. The league table never really takes shape until 8 games anyway so its not true positions until another couple of weeks. Goal difference doesn't mean much at this stage unless a side is winning / losing by 3 or 4 every week.

Do you expect it to be an overnight turnaround? It doesn't work like that. If someone gave you all the parts to a Ferrari you wouldn't be able to go out and get the best out of it the next day. After a week or 2 of assembling you still may have not put parts where they should in the engine so it may not be running right so would be looking to tweak and get it right. Some fans need to realise real football isn't like it is on a playstation.

I didn't say it. I was just explaining what JFK said that you didn't understand.
-
On the playing side he would need to do a mini preseason and get his fitness up, he just doesn't look sharp at all. He could start dictating the games a bit more if he is at the races. It will be an interesting week with him returning today.
-
He said if you take us out of it, meaning they are the best of the rest without the OF.
-
Pittodrie goes to new heights though so the players have to expect a team who will raise their game maybe 30% compared to maybe a Kilmarnock who raise 10%. (Along with Tannadice and Easter Road) Hopefully MW has learned from the Celtic game not to drop the attacking passing game and go with experience hoping it would be right. I hope we go with the fast younger skilful attacking players.
