  1. Another half point for correcting Liverpool scoring 2 Liverpools record against the other 5 is good so it shows its not these games that win you the title. Chelsea can practically be crowned champions if they win today cant seem them losing 4 games.
  2. Suarez carried that Liverpool team. As for Swansea Martinez set them up and Sousa improved it, so things were easy for Rodgers. Rodgers will be back down south as soon as a big club come sniffing.
  3. Yeah but these two have no credibility. Every other pundit or media station is simply wondering what is going on.
  4. Im due a good weekend. Although I wanted to change my predication and have Southampton winning before kick offs but left it. Other scores are poised nicely. Everton should be 2 up by now, they have had a few chances. The amount of empty seats at West Ham is scary. Having all the games on live is a good nightmare - cant just sit and watch 1 game, its channel hoping non stop.
  5. If FdB has said he is willing to talk then the board should be inviting him for Sunday lunch straight away. But i think he would need a bit of time. Our main aim is to get second place in the in the league therefore Walter should be option b. Dont think we have a hope of Marco Silva as Rab mentioned - he will be snapped up if he doesnt stay on with Hull.
  6. I like Souness but he wouldnt be on my list although is far more appealing than Davies. Smith or McLeish (or Redknapp if he fancies it) until the end of the season. Next season Rowett or De Boer or Laudrup - the latter two is where a title challenging Rangers should be.
  7. No problem. I'll PM you when Im next in UK and sort something.
  8. Yes Rowett wouldnt be a bad shout. But if not then Redknapp and Ray Wilkins until the end of the season would be appealing.
  9. Obviously its not official yet and Id imagine MW will still turn up for work today if he is denying resigning. But what condition is the squad in for a new manager to take over? I would say its a lot fresher and promising from when MW took over from Ally. The older dead wood players are gone like McCulloch, Templeton and Shiels etc. But the a lot of the squad is MW's players and will they down tools and not appreciate playing for someone else - I suspect this more so with the loanees. The players have to remember they play for the club and not one man. So if the board didnt back MW in January that could be good for a new man in the summer to strengthen. We certainly need a couple of permanent midfielders. Crooks and Rossiter havent kicked a ball, Kranjcar is injured, Windass is injured a lot, Halliday hasnt stepped up, Holt is hot and cold, Forrester is in and out, MoH probably isnt the answer. The loan players Toral and Hyndman look good but I dont think we will see them again after May. Only McKay seems like a solid inclusion. Upfront Dodoo might be happy as he may get a chance now and rightly so. Waghorn was rumoured to also fall out with the manager if he can get last years form back we may have a good partnership on the cards. At the back Kiernan has his own issues with arguing off the park, Hill is 38 and Senderos not settled. So there is work to do for anyone taking over.
  10. Due to gambling laws I cant open any UK betting site, they are all firewalled off. But I managed to access thesackrace.com and some of the names are laughable and couldnt even be considered - how can McGhee and Stubbs even make the list!. Yet there is some good shouts. But I cant believe Billy Davies is 2/1 favourite. The list I can see is as follows and the odds are well off reality: Billy Davies 2/1 Derek McInnes 4/1 Fran De Boer 4/1 Tommy Wright 6/1 Walter Smith 8/1 Gio Van Bronckhurst 12/1 Graeme Murty 12/1 Alex McLeish 12/1 Gary Rowett 12/1 Graeme Souness 12/1 Barry Ferguson 14/1 Steve Clarke 16/1 Alan Pardew 20/1 Brian Laudrup 20/1 Joe Jordan 25/1 Gary McAllister 25/1 Steven Pressley 25/1 Graham Alexander 25/1 Alex Ferguson 25/1 Michael O Neill 25/1 Alex Neil 25/1 Alan Irvine 25/1 Harry Redknapp 25/1 Ricky Sbragia 25/1 Terry Butcher 25/1 Alan Stubbs 25/1 Mark McGhee 25/1
  11. That might be the biggest photo ever.. Frankie in the forum support you said the thumbnails are small
  12. My folks were clearing out the loft the other day and found a box of mine containing a load of old Gers tops. She asked me what I wanted to do with them. Aside from the ones in the photo somewhere else I have 1992-94 home and away, 94-96 home, 94 purple away, 1999-01 NTL home. Ive a couple here with me also. They are washed and as good as new, if anyone is collecting jerserys I can arrange to give them at no cost to any bear. But the union jack and scarf arent part of the package as Im taking them back with me next trip over. For some reason me and my mate always bought XL even when a medium would have done so they are likely to fit all sizes of gers fans [/img]
  13. Erm wasnt this the question the agent asked the board?
  14. Oh well he didnt make it on. But I am guessing he was advised not to do any media until official statements are confirmed.
  15. Agreed with hindsight Weir came to the club at 37 after plying his days for Everton. It was the club who extended his career as much as he played well. The only thing baffling me still is why would the club waive compensation if they are resigning. No pay off should be part of them decided to go.
  16. Derek Johnstones comments seem to follow what else has been said: And Neil McCann:
  17. MW has never had Rangers at heart, it was a stepping stone for him personally but I thought he would have honored his contract. However we dont know whats going on with him and the board. But its obvious he wanted back down south anyway. Forest are a potential sleeping giant. As for Weir - something has went on behind the scenes there also.
  18. Id take Big Eck until the end of the season. Everywhere he has went he gets an immediate response which is what we need now and he is a big enough character to handle it. But long term not for me. The Daily Record (first time ive ever clicked on a link for this) have the following names: McInnes - Best of the worst managers on offer but we should be aiming way higher Tommy Wright - Proves the paper is a wind up. Frank De Boer - Obvious first choice for the fans but very unlikely. However this is where we should be aiming. Billy Davies - This is tiresome. I dont think I could handle that. Alex McLeish - as above until the end of the season would do a job. Gary Monk - Funnily one of the first names that came to mind but will totally depend on Leeds season. no way would he consider it now with Leeds having a chance of promotion but if Leeds dont go up he might as he is working for a nutter there.
  19. Ronald hasnt even went into management at all though has he??
  20. Yip agree with that Boabie but I still wouldnt say no. FdB has Arsenal and Barca on his radar (whether they have him is another question). Inter was a set back for him so he will be looking to go somewhere and win again though. Neil McCann is someone who talks a load of sense and would be good in the set up in some capacity. Whether he gives up his cushy job at the moment is doubtful - he co commentates for a Premier League game every week for Premier League TV.
  21. I hope Murty goes for it and picks a team / formation he see's fit and not to try keep continuity. Id go with Foderingham Tavernier Hill Senderos Wallace Forrester Toral Hyndman McKay Miller Dodoo
  22. Ex Birmingham manager. Had them challenging for the play offs and level on points with Sheff Wed on Dec 14 then was shockingly sacked and replaced by Zola who has them now in free fall.
  23. Agreed. And another reason is the person has to know the expectations that anything other than 2nd this season is not acceptable. Therefore ugly winning would be OK until the end of the season. So it would need to be someone who knows what the club is about. But the main thing is to think longer term for next season and Im liking the thought of Gary Rowett. No compensation, and very promising.
  24. Purely only until the end of the season. I would imagine he has far more chance of cementing 2nd rather than the inexperienced Murty (no disrespect to the latter).
  25. Apart from the club agreeing to delay the announcement. I cant work out why that would be the case. They should have left with immediate effect as their minds werent on the job in hand. Exactly what Murray did to Souness when Liverpool sniffed - he told him to leave straight away.
