  1. Ex Birmingham manager. Had them challenging for the play offs and level on points with Sheff Wed on Dec 14 then was shockingly sacked and replaced by Zola who has them now in free fall.
  2. Agreed. And another reason is the person has to know the expectations that anything other than 2nd this season is not acceptable. Therefore ugly winning would be OK until the end of the season. So it would need to be someone who knows what the club is about. But the main thing is to think longer term for next season and Im liking the thought of Gary Rowett. No compensation, and very promising.
  3. Purely only until the end of the season. I would imagine he has far more chance of cementing 2nd rather than the inexperienced Murty (no disrespect to the latter).
  4. Apart from the club agreeing to delay the announcement. I cant work out why that would be the case. They should have left with immediate effect as their minds werent on the job in hand. Exactly what Murray did to Souness when Liverpool sniffed - he told him to leave straight away.
  5. His position must be untenable considering the club put a statement up. The club could have made a mass error in this if all this was verbal. But Id imagine he would still need to turn up for work tomorrow if he is denying resigning and it would then be up to the club to tell him to stay away. Absolute mess.
  6. Agreed, but everything is sounding verbal at the moment which holds no weight at all. To prove they agreed to go to Forest or Forest tapped them would be the road to go down next - of course if this is the case!
  7. Considering the show only has another 2 hours Id say that counts as soon. They said at the start they have made contact with him and will have him on. But obviously MW must be in discussions with his legal team right now.
  8. What did they say and where is this?? I cant find anything on their website.
  9. There is a pattern that former good players cant coach their position. McLeish and McCoist straight away join Weir. Weir during his sole management spell at Sheff Utd was awful.
  10. I wouldnt say no to Walter Smith until the end of the season. Just get results over the line. But for me we would need to unearth a Marco Silva rather than going down the McInnes, Davies route. Gary Rowett springs to mind. Could we get a F De Boer or Michael Laudrup? I think its 2-3 years too early for them in our current climate.
  11. Sports bar have made contact with MW and will be on their show tonight (this morning for me)
  12. I want to know that this is 100% true first but regardless it sounds like he cant possibly take charge of things this weekend. MW will be on Talksport soon.
  13. Regardless of the mess does this make MW's position untenable now if this is an error?
  14. Can images no longer be uploaded in Gers Chat from computer? I tried to do this but it doesnt give me the option - only to paste a URL. But if I try it in this thread I see the option. Strange one
  15. Thats scary. The money we get for finishing second is the difference to a team like Bournemouth finishing 13th instead of 15th. You just wonder what will happen if the English league does get into trouble. Leeds and Portsmouth will look success stories. I was listening to Talksport the other day who were saying they would rather see Villa, Newcastle, Leeds etc in the top flight instead of burnley, Bournemouth and Hull etc - I find this unfair but true at the same time. Yes on paper the big teams playing each other is more attractive but teams are their on merit. But it made me think would they not rather have Rangers (and unfortunetely) Celtic turning up at Stamford bridge and Anfield rather than the Hulls and Burnleys. It would help their product even more.
  16. Wouldn't mind seeing that and then Burnley getting something against Chelsea but Liverpool seem to turn up in the big matches.
  17. Should be a bit easier to predict results this week, the last 2 have been tricky with games to go either way. Big game for Arsenal, if they don't win then the pressure on Wenger will be incredible. They are playing a good Hull side and Marco Silva has already put himself in the shop window for next season, he has been very impressive. Liverpool the other side with big pressure and they entertain Spurs - its a big match as Liverpool need top 4 and Spurs have their last chance of the Title, if they don't win that's them out of it. Plus if Liverpool were to win then Spurs are in the fight for top 4. The fight at the bottom is so close also. Palace and Leicester in free fall with Sunderland, Swansea and Hull playing decent all of a sudden. Arsenal 2-0 Hull Man Utd 2-1 Watford Middlesbrough 0-2 Everton Stoke 1-0 Palace Sunderland 0-0 Southampton West Ham 1-1 West Brom Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham Burnley 0-1 Chelsea Swansea 2-1 Leicester Bournemouth 0-3 Man City
  18. Didnt expect to see that until at least next season...major boost. Surely he will also be determined to get back on the pitch and show what he has. Whats his contract length anyway??
  19. No player should get abuse at all. If it gets like the Payet situation at West Ham and a player refuses to play for the club then songs sang are ok so long as they dont get personal.
  20. You expect far better especially in and around the players lounge area. He isn't the best centre half but there is no place for abuse.
  21. Rangers 3-0 Morton Hyndman FGS
  22. Leicester obviously resting players for the Swansea game this weekend. Derby on the other hand are going for the play offs.
  23. I agree he wouldnt be a candidate at all this time round - its wishful thinking. maybe 5 years time but depending where he ends up next he maybe never will be a consideration. His time in italy has set him back a bit but i think he will end up at another top club eventually.
  24. David Beckham went on loan to Preston as a youngster, enough said. But obviously Ball is getting more first team experience, and league 1 isnt a million miles off scottish premiership standard. Throw in the talent Spurs have in midfield then he is better out on loan.
  25. Cant disagree with anything. And does put a lot into perspective. With MW I dont doubt his style of play and what he is setting up behind the first team but its only his inability to change things during a game that needs tweaked. Garner is a dissappointing signing for me due to the fee which could have been put onto someone else, its not Garner is a bad player, he just wont fit into this team regardless if he runs his socks off every game. I also think we are underestimating the impact Dom Ball had last season. Interesting stats so far, 51% saying keep MW and 57% for Fran De Boer which isnt a surprise. Why is Arveladze' name on the list, is he managing? I will need to run a search on old Shota. Edit - Learned his trade as a number two to Van Gaal, Koeman and Advocaat. He will know a thing or two then!!!
