  1. They were in Dubai this time last year then went back and won about 10 in a row.
  2. Thursday was the toughest MOTM to choose, this one is won already.
  3. I think we touched on commentators before but this thread is like Heroes and Legends. I suppose there is some legendary commentators. I started watching Scotsport and Sportscene as well as listening to the radio in the mid 80s so had Jock Brown, Archie McPherson on the telly with Alastair Alexander and David Begg on the Radio. Archie Oooomph McPherson is certainly legendary for me while the other 3 had good commenting voices. Wasnt a fan of Gerry McNee and the current commentator for Scottish game on Sky Ian Crocker has the worst voice. Down south Martin Tyler is my favourite commentator off all time, pipping Archie. Tyler and Gray were easily the best. But Sky and TNT at the moment are awful with the exception of Super Ally. BBC and ITV are also poor now, John Motson was good but I think Barry Davies was a bit dull although he would be a big improvement now.
  4. Glad Man Utd got the equalizer, keeps the title race open slightly. If Everton can get something in the last Merseyside Derby at Goodison then it will be bang on. Arsenal are capable of going on a 6 game winning run and they can win at Anfield later in the season. Ipswich are the team at the bottom grafting points now, Southampton are gone and Leicester appointing Ruud has backfired so far. Wolves will climb up the league with a good coach now. Tonight will be a entertaining game, a Forest win would be really impressive.
  5. Just been going through the thread since I got up. Couple of points. Cammy mentioned Moyes - This is interesting. With West Ham being my English side I wanted him out after the UCL win. He is a very short term manager. In saying that his approach would be exactly what we need right now - we would play very deep at the back and he would shore up the defence big time - but going forward he just relies on the attackers doing their job. As for it being possible - I think he would jump at the chance as no other English Prem team will touch him unless its for the last 10 games of a season to stay up. Plus there would be no compensation package. If Clement was to leave then I think this is a real possibility. On Clement - He has clearly shown in spells he can be a good coach, from Oct 23 when he came in until that Ross County defeat he was making good progress. In Europe this season we have been a different side so it suggests to me he is suited to the continental game. But domestically Im not sure he has a clue what to do when he has to change a game - making subs is have the job but to change the system is part 2 and thats where he falls short. Ive doubts if he can improve on this, he comes across too nice. Wee blue devil mentioned the only hope is an Atlantic idea - if the big clubs in Europe get their Super league dream then Id say this would happen. Id rather be playing Ajax and Copenhagen than Livingston away etc.
  6. Hindsight is great but we should have shut up shop much more at 2-3 or even half time.
  7. Feels like a defeat. Injury list getting bigger again.
  8. That was weak goalkeeping, you cant let a guy half his size block him like that
  9. Take a bow son @CammyF - yes Roofe was the last hat trick
  10. It was going to tricky to play the same for another 90 mins just 3 days after
  11. The foot had maybe just came off the peddle a bit so that might up the tempo again.
  12. This is fantastic stuff. Quality goal. The tempo is top drawer. I've even got tolerance for the drum watching this
  13. We are a different animal playing like this.
  14. What's the weather in Edinburgh like this morning anyway?? I take it the game will go ahead. The Liverpool v Man Utd game is 50/50, decision to be made at 12pm.
  15. Video isnt available to me not in the UK but its the Brighton one against Arsenal - Its a penalty all day long for me.
  16. Would be brilliant to see but Leicester pretty much led the full season and non of the big boys were at the races that season, Spurs were the only challengers and they fell off but thats not taking away Leicesters consistency that season. Forest have got a purring Liverpool and I dont see them having a bad patch.
  17. Looking forward this today now after Thursday. The team showed what they can do and we should be playing at that tempo week in week out.
  18. Hibs 0-2 Rangers FGS Cerny @Rousseau (again, no need to tally my points to the table)
  19. Thats because West Ham let the big teams have training games against them. If Liverpool win today I think its done and dusted, they will be 8 clear with a game in hand. Arsenal are relying on Man Utd pulling off a shock and then Everton winning the game in hand.
  20. 1 point between the top 3. Sunderland win today and it will be 3 points between the top 4. Usually one team runs away with this league but if we get a battle then it will be great. Plus the play offs usually have about 8 teams chasing with 5 games to go.
  21. He is, thats why he only goes for freebie managers (pellegrini was peanuts to come back from China, Moyes twice was available, Lopetegui was free)
  22. Whats worthy noting is we have been the better team in 3 of the last 4 OF games. The two cup finals were won on points but that was simply a 2nd round knock out on Thursday. Am I right in saying there will be 3000 away fans in the next game? That will help us.
  23. Talking of captain, do you think that Raskin will keep the armband? I think he should, he has raised his game. Tav can still be club captain but team captain should be Raskin
  24. Might have to change the Spurs Newcastle score to 4-4. Its 1-1 after six minutes
  25. Hope you are right, thats the two I want back in the Prem, two huge clubs. And looking at the fixtures a Lancashire derby with Blackburn v Burnley. Must be up there with one of the oldest derbies in the UK.
