  1. Erm wasnt this the question the agent asked the board?
  2. Oh well he didnt make it on. But I am guessing he was advised not to do any media until official statements are confirmed.
  3. Agreed with hindsight Weir came to the club at 37 after plying his days for Everton. It was the club who extended his career as much as he played well. The only thing baffling me still is why would the club waive compensation if they are resigning. No pay off should be part of them decided to go.
  4. Derek Johnstones comments seem to follow what else has been said: And Neil McCann:
  5. MW has never had Rangers at heart, it was a stepping stone for him personally but I thought he would have honored his contract. However we dont know whats going on with him and the board. But its obvious he wanted back down south anyway. Forest are a potential sleeping giant. As for Weir - something has went on behind the scenes there also.
  6. Id take Big Eck until the end of the season. Everywhere he has went he gets an immediate response which is what we need now and he is a big enough character to handle it. But long term not for me. The Daily Record (first time ive ever clicked on a link for this) have the following names: McInnes - Best of the worst managers on offer but we should be aiming way higher Tommy Wright - Proves the paper is a wind up. Frank De Boer - Obvious first choice for the fans but very unlikely. However this is where we should be aiming. Billy Davies - This is tiresome. I dont think I could handle that. Alex McLeish - as above until the end of the season would do a job. Gary Monk - Funnily one of the first names that came to mind but will totally depend on Leeds season. no way would he consider it now with Leeds having a chance of promotion but if Leeds dont go up he might as he is working for a nutter there.
  7. Ronald hasnt even went into management at all though has he??
  8. Yip agree with that Boabie but I still wouldnt say no. FdB has Arsenal and Barca on his radar (whether they have him is another question). Inter was a set back for him so he will be looking to go somewhere and win again though. Neil McCann is someone who talks a load of sense and would be good in the set up in some capacity. Whether he gives up his cushy job at the moment is doubtful - he co commentates for a Premier League game every week for Premier League TV.
  9. I hope Murty goes for it and picks a team / formation he see's fit and not to try keep continuity. Id go with Foderingham Tavernier Hill Senderos Wallace Forrester Toral Hyndman McKay Miller Dodoo
  10. Ex Birmingham manager. Had them challenging for the play offs and level on points with Sheff Wed on Dec 14 then was shockingly sacked and replaced by Zola who has them now in free fall.
  11. Agreed. And another reason is the person has to know the expectations that anything other than 2nd this season is not acceptable. Therefore ugly winning would be OK until the end of the season. So it would need to be someone who knows what the club is about. But the main thing is to think longer term for next season and Im liking the thought of Gary Rowett. No compensation, and very promising.
  12. Purely only until the end of the season. I would imagine he has far more chance of cementing 2nd rather than the inexperienced Murty (no disrespect to the latter).
  13. Apart from the club agreeing to delay the announcement. I cant work out why that would be the case. They should have left with immediate effect as their minds werent on the job in hand. Exactly what Murray did to Souness when Liverpool sniffed - he told him to leave straight away.
  14. His position must be untenable considering the club put a statement up. The club could have made a mass error in this if all this was verbal. But Id imagine he would still need to turn up for work tomorrow if he is denying resigning and it would then be up to the club to tell him to stay away. Absolute mess.
  15. Agreed, but everything is sounding verbal at the moment which holds no weight at all. To prove they agreed to go to Forest or Forest tapped them would be the road to go down next - of course if this is the case!
  16. Considering the show only has another 2 hours Id say that counts as soon. They said at the start they have made contact with him and will have him on. But obviously MW must be in discussions with his legal team right now.
  17. What did they say and where is this?? I cant find anything on their website.
  18. There is a pattern that former good players cant coach their position. McLeish and McCoist straight away join Weir. Weir during his sole management spell at Sheff Utd was awful.
  19. I wouldnt say no to Walter Smith until the end of the season. Just get results over the line. But for me we would need to unearth a Marco Silva rather than going down the McInnes, Davies route. Gary Rowett springs to mind. Could we get a F De Boer or Michael Laudrup? I think its 2-3 years too early for them in our current climate.
  20. Sports bar have made contact with MW and will be on their show tonight (this morning for me)
  21. I want to know that this is 100% true first but regardless it sounds like he cant possibly take charge of things this weekend. MW will be on Talksport soon.
  22. Regardless of the mess does this make MW's position untenable now if this is an error?
  23. Can images no longer be uploaded in Gers Chat from computer? I tried to do this but it doesnt give me the option - only to paste a URL. But if I try it in this thread I see the option. Strange one
  24. Thats scary. The money we get for finishing second is the difference to a team like Bournemouth finishing 13th instead of 15th. You just wonder what will happen if the English league does get into trouble. Leeds and Portsmouth will look success stories. I was listening to Talksport the other day who were saying they would rather see Villa, Newcastle, Leeds etc in the top flight instead of burnley, Bournemouth and Hull etc - I find this unfair but true at the same time. Yes on paper the big teams playing each other is more attractive but teams are their on merit. But it made me think would they not rather have Rangers (and unfortunetely) Celtic turning up at Stamford bridge and Anfield rather than the Hulls and Burnleys. It would help their product even more.
  25. Wouldn't mind seeing that and then Burnley getting something against Chelsea but Liverpool seem to turn up in the big matches.
