Cheers Craig....have a good one. Im not a Christmas or new year fan. Could start a new thread about it. but glad the OF derby is back on new year...
-
I have a club tie given to me when I was about 8 years old...I will try dig it out and happy to give it to someone on here.
-
Reading this thread made me think about an English XI who played for Rangers. Was tempted to go Goram in goal and McCall in midfield but both represented Scotland. Im sure I will have missed a few out. Woods Stevens Butcher Roberts Spackman Francis Steven Gascoigne Walters Hateley Gordon Subs: Falco, Wallace, Vinnicombe, Jeffers, Drinkell, Sterland

Im usually up early anyway - best time of the day, but if the game Is on the telly I will certainly get up and listen especially on a Saturday morning. Im looking forward to the morning when I have to get up for Champions League again though...
-
Its amazing how young players look in clothes but on the park they don't....perhaps just an observation from me. Still don't rate Garner, he looks like his tank is running empty. But if he starts scoring I will review.
-
Never been a fan of Butcher. Would have Gough over him all day long.
-
Hearts go to Dundee and Aberdeen to Motherwell on Friday night, can only see them both getting a point at best.
-
Arsenal let another lead slip and lose again in the big games. No way can they give Ozil a new contract, they should use the money on his wages to add to Sanchez.
-
I was watching at 4am and drifting in and out of sleep but kept hearing songs......they were outstanding even a pain in the ass waking me up
-
Burnley are 14/1 to win today, ive never seen odds like that for a team in the premier league. Its worth a tenner...even though ive got spurs on my treble.
-
I had a treble of West Ham, Middlesboro, Sunderland which returned 700 bucks. Delighted I didn't include Stoke on it, original put them on the slip but then dropped them out.
-
Those 3:45am kick offs are tricky....delighted for Waghorn, I hope that's his shooting boots back on and he gets a run now. All 4 strikers are in form at the moment so MW has a good headache. 5 wins in 6 games is good form and we are beginning to find our feet. Inverness at Ibrox on Christmas even could / should make that 6 out of 7. The distance between 3rd is opening up and Aberdeen / Hearts are capable of dropping points anywhere in this league.

This will be a tougher weekend for Chelsea up against a fighting Palace team but they should still have enough to nick it. Tough game away to West Brom for Man Utd. Games of the weekend Man City v Arsenal and Everton v Liverpool. Im going for: Crystal Palace 0-1 Chelsea Middlesboro 1-0 Swansea Stoke 2-0 Leicester Sunderland 2-1 Watford West Ham 2-0 Hull West Brom 1-1 Man Utd Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton Man City 2-2 Arsenal Tottenham 3-1 Burnley Everton 1-1 Liverpool

The first few games I see Garner I thought we have a new Kris Boyd who wont contribute to the team. Going on last 2 games he could now be a bit of a Sebo who throws himself about and tries but wont get the goals. For me the jury is still out on him. I still think Dodoo could be a goalscorer, he hasn't had a run of games but his 2 finishes at Firhill were quality. Would like to see Dodoo and Waghorn together.
-
The standards have been set in the last 2 games and the players have to show they weren't one off revenge matches. That said Id take a smash and grab 3 points now to keep the decent run going but we should be better than that and look to dominate and win comfortably.

Rangers are good enough to beat Celtic on Hogmanay says Kris Boyd

I think we have a decent chance also. That game came a bit early and a lot of fans and possibly people within the club were thinking we could repeat the April semi final. But those OF scores are always one offs and have happened in the past and show no true reflection between the teams. Our defence is starting to improve and we are getting a bit more consistent even if it started with last minute wins against Dundee and Partick - its still a start. -
I just don't get this position at all anyway regardless who gets it. What does it do and achieve? If the SFA set up a team round the table to improve the game consisting of names like Dalglish, Ferguson, Souness, McAllister etc to improve the game then Id see a purpose. As for McKay, its a pity what he did and nobody will know that more than him. I actually thought he was a decent manager and could go on a bit further and do well in England.
-
The position itself is pointless anyway, what good exactly did McClair do other than probably a few good presentations in the warmth of a nice Hampden office. The game needs overhauled from top to bottom with more footballing people involved, and it means restructuring the top flight and less divisions, perhaps summer football so the fans see better quality and the players can improve on better pitches and conditions - also the clubs will bee up and running domestically so are in better shape for Euro qualification. When McKay was a manager I thought he was actually decent and didn't do to bad a job.

Agree - and they wonder why the UEFA cup and Cup Winners Cup died. Had the runners up in the domestic leagues went straight into the UEFA cup you would still have the massive games of Real Madrid v Arsenal. The Europa league has ruined European football for teams not in the CL. The amount of teams is laughable. They should do something with that, but the preference would be to bring the Cup winners Cup back and have 3 tournaments again. They should also move the Europa to Wednesday nights and the CL could be Tues and Thurs. Then nobody would complain. The teams playing in the CL mostly play on a Sunday domestically anyway for TV rights in England and in Spain / Italy they mostly play on Sunday anyway so a Thursday night game wouldn't make much changes and have the affects it does on the likes of Southampton, Spurs etc who just cant adapt to Thurs / Sun.

Much needed win for Everton, Arsenal need to respond again. Leicester still in relegation fight.
-
Monaco do have a chance but Man City seem to be more better prepared for Europe this season so I think they will go through. I'll be backing Sevilla all day long against Leicester.
-
Chapecoense given a fine for not turning up for game.

That is inhumane if true. The first thing anyone would do is re-write the rule. -
If they had Reina and Carragher now they would have a few more points. That seems to be all they are lacking. Arsenal supposed to be going for Draxler in January as he has fell out with Bremen. Exactly what Arsenal need - a natural winger. Iwobi is doing well but Draxler is class.
