  1. Agreed and I hope he gets the time. Marco Silva mindset rather than Delia mindset.
  2. Neutral ground and in the FINAL - that wins it for me but its very close. Good comments on your last post about visit to Nou Camp - went there for the tour years ago and an immense stadium. Would love to have seen a game. If thats what you think about Messi imagine how good it would have been to seen Maradona live.
  3. Well it would be good to finally get it over the line. A very intriguing appointment which does bring a tad of excitement. I dont get the impression it will be a new PLG, I would suggest he is a bit mentally tougher than PLG was and there isnt bad apples in the dressing room like 2006.
  4. There was a debate about the best comeback. Liverpool v Milan or Barca v PSG. I have to give it to Barca as liverpool got 45 minutes to score 3 and then won it on pens. Barca needed 4 without conceding just to level the tie. And considering they needed 3 goals with 2 mins of normal time. But I had no doubt they would do it before the game, I thought they would win 5-0, glad I didnt bet that now and stuck with half time full time. Man Utds 99 final wasnt exactly a comeback but still wins the best turnaround of all time.
  5. That's the title done now, City were the only side with a half chance of catching Chelsea. Im annoyed I didn't back a draw. When I was putting my Barca bet on I dabbled with it.
  6. That was awesome. Imagine if Barca never switched off for 20 mins when PSG scored. I couldn't work out why they stopped, they were still more than capable of scoring. It took Neymars free kick in the 88th min to get them going again. but once the 5th went in you knew it was coming. I had the easiest bet in the world on - Barca half time full time at evens. That was crazy odds.
  7. A lot of arsenal fans saying they want to finish out the top 4 so he goes but thats suicide. If they dont get top 4 their new managr wont have the spending power like Chelsea last summer to get back in the top 4. Their good players will leave and they would be overtaken by Everton and Liverpool for sure and end up 7th. Wenger either needs to stop being stubborn and start buying world class players plus have a plan B or walk away after getting the club into top 4 for next seasons CL so a new man can come in and have something to attract players. Looking forward to seeing Barca tonight - if ever a wounded animal is going to come out all guns blazing its going to be Barca tonight and they will believe they can turn it around. They may score 5 but PSG may get a goal or two themselves.
  8. Oosh, 5-1 for Munich. Arsenal are just awful in big games.
  9. Since when has he been a scout anyway?
  10. Rushing someone is within a few days. If the board actually wanted MW to leave a few names would have already been known. But taking a month is too long. If it means Murty until the end of the season then so be it.
  11. It would be quite nice to get an appointment in place, its beginning to drag too long now.
  12. I was thinking that, semi finals were always avoided. Yet is there more risk of trouble these days with Rangers v Hibs / Aberdeen?? Glasgows finest are used to OF games so know how to handle them more.
  13. Spurs home form is great and it gives them breathing space. Arsenals game in hand is away to Southampton which isnt a gimme, and the Manchester clubs game in hand is against each other, so its a good weekend for Liverpool and Spurs.
  14. Obviously it was a statement saying sign contract or leave. Plus there was a petition in Chile this week to get him out of Arsenal so Wenger may have been showing who is boss but in that case you would drop him from the squad not plan on bringing him on at half time - it just shows Wenger has actually lost it. he could end up being both Arsenals best and worst managers ever. If they dont get top 4 their best players will leave and they wont be able to replace them. The only credit he deserves post-2007 is managing to keep them in the CL while paying off the stadium. They could have quite well have mortgaged the stadium then attempt success but could have turned into a Leeds. I was a massive Wenger fan, he used to turn up to Old trafford knowing he had Sir Alex' number and his teams won there regularly, now they cant even compete with Everton or Stoke away. Imagine Seaman, Keown, Adams, Winterburn, Parlour, Vieira and Henry rocking up performances like that!! Diego Simeone should be appointed or Joachim Low or Anchelotti. But let him spend but keep the club in the black.
  15. About time we gave someone a tonking. We need to do that in the league also to get the goal difference up a bit. But its another trip to Hampden, we are beginning to get familiar with the place again in the last 12 months which can only be a good thing. Hibs are in the hat again so a potential rematch would be good.
  16. Top notch - 5 correct with 2 perfect scores. Well done. Man Utd game was great entertainment, unfortunately I didnt get the Gers game so had to watch this but what action. Worst refereeing performance Ive seen. Too much to list. Boruc was unbelievable. Arsenal fail to show up again in big match, they just looked beaten from the first kick and to leave Sanchez on the bench is crazy and shows Wenger has lost it. Giroud play about 40 mins with a injury and it took until the 70th minute to take him off. I thought without Ozil is was a great chance for Arsenal to play Sanchez in that role but he didnt even start. They badly miss Cazorla and Wilshire, two players who make things happen. Xhaka 30 million?? When they could have tried to get Kante for the same price with the offering of CL football!! And Draxler was keen to go there at the same price. I think its no CL football for the Gunners next season.
  17. I dont see the issue though, expats around the world apply for visa / residence when being accepted for jobs where there is no system like the EU, not sure why the UK deny foreigners - The Premier League down south would be finished. However you go back to the 3 foreigner rule in the 80s and early 90s, this was the last time we could compete in Europe and thinking of the 1992/93 CL run our side was full or Scots / English. I'll say though this has taken the thread on a new path about who is next.
  18. And you think the regime care with the population think. If it was that straight forward it would be happening by now and not going to house of lords for voting and trying to get another referendum pushed through. Best example is Lisbon treaty - ireland voted no, the powers that be wanted a yes so they came back and had the second referendum.
  19. Leicester v Hull Stoke v Middlesboro Swansea v Burnley Watford v Southampton Liverpool v Arsenal These fixtures today can go either way and arent easy to predict. Stoke would usually be favourites but they have been so up and down recently.
  20. I dont think Brexit will even happen. The powers that be dont want it and will get a second referendum therefore players / managers will still be able to come and go.
  21. Todays predictions. Some tough ones to predict with games that could go anyway. Man Utd 2-0 Bournemouth Leicester 1-1 Hull Stoke 2-1 Middlesboro Swansea 1-1 Burnley Watford 0-0 Southampton West Brom 1-0 Crystal Palace Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal Tottenham 2-2 Everton Sunderland 0-3 Man City West Ham 2-1 Chelsea
  22. Im "wondering" if putting Senderos or Tavernier in a sweeper role / defensive midfielder role would be better than one of the current midfielders, at least they would just sit and defend when needed. Its a position that hasnt worked out with any fit player this season and the 3 that was bought for it didnt or havent kicked a ball (Barton, Rossiter, Crooks) In saying that Ive never thought it should be vital for a Rangers team when playing a side like Hamilton - no disrespect - but if we playing one then perhaps try a defender. In saying that when playing sides like Hamilton at home and with the players we have I still like an old fashioned 4-4-2. The right side is a bit unclear but Forrester might be the answer in this formation, or even Windass eventually. Foderingham Tavernier Wilson Hill Wallace Forrester Hyndman Holt McKay Miller Waghorn
  23. Gribz

    Old Firm

If the new man is appointed then he should be in straight away and of course working with Murty during the hand over.
  24. Good article, kind of gives me a different view on DoF that he overseas things off the park on all levels and allows a head coach to just get on and run the first team with training and picking the sides. This is key as its always been the gray area for me that DoF is too involved with first team matters. If it clicks then it would work and agree we wont get a sugar daddy, we need to sort the merchandise off the park financial matters which will generate great income, then progress into Europa League to get to the next level. Ive said its about a 4 level game for us and right now we are at level 2. I liked MW until 3 weeks ago then you do see a different side of him but thats all how the fan can judge.
  25. Forest could easily drop to the third tier this year, they are only a few points clear of the relegation zone and played a game more than a few teams. I always had a soft spot for Forest (and Sheff Wed) but if MW and DW go there I would quite happily see them go down.
