  1. Gary Monk would be a scoop, Id have thought out of reach but if he is been spoken to then that's good. Swansea pulled the trigger far too early to get rid and he has turned a mess of a Leeds time into promotion contenders while still working with mad men behind the scenes. But he will obviously want to get Leeds up and then would stay. Rowett has showed great promise at Birmingham. Would be a realistic sensible option at the moment. FdB is still top choice in the summer and even Michael Laudrup who just hasn't even had a mention. EDIT - Would Alex Neil be a decent shout if he doesn't get Norwich up?
  2. 3 wins in a row for City while Chelsea have 1 in 3 all of a sudden there is a chance of a title race. City are beginning to click after a couple of uneasy spells. 8 points is still a big ask. Chelsea can afford 2 defeats. But if they avoid defeat when they play Man City then it would probably be enough.
  3. He has started his career in England well though.
  4. We need someone in place straight away - whether that is temporary or full time. Nobody knows if Murty could do it for a few months but I think maybe would have a bit of confidence of a McLeish type coming in to get a response from the team and get a few good wins to finish second. FdB has said he is having a break - his first since he started playing football, that's fair enough. I see your point that if he wants it then get him in straight away but I also see his point that he would like to start afresh in the summer with pre-season.
  5. Big Eck is purely an impact manager in his early days at any job and both SBS and Harleys posts have factual info about them. In his 5 years at Ibrox we had great times and bad times. He is a yes for me until the end of the season. There is nobody else to come in straight away (unless Harry Redknapp fancies it then Id bite the hand off). But only until the end of the season and a new long term approach next season is a must even if FdB doesn't take it. Alex Rae as number two is a depressing one and the worst decision out of anything. The man McLeish was sitting next to in the studio is a far more appealing option (not Tanner BTW). Or someone like Ray Wilkins or Steve Clarke who have been good assistants in the past and both available.
  6. Certainly looks that way to get a good semi final line up.
  7. I think the popular option at the moment is McLeish until the summer then FdB in the summer. If Negri wants a strikers coaching role then that's not a bad option. When he signed he was incredible and like Mols could score any type of goal. You just wonder if he didn't have that bizarre injury and Mols hadn't got injured what those two upfront together would have done.
  8. The problem with this type of injury is it could be coming from anywhere in the legs but the pain comes from the back so detecting it is the hardest problem. Im pretty sure St Georges would have specialists but he could opt to try traditional far east treatment.
  9. Chelsea slight blip. I actually backed a draw as they cant win every game. But with Spurs not winning and Arsenals poor recent form they are still well in command. Man City are likely to close the gap to 8 points plus still have to play Chelsea but its still a lot of ground to make up. I wouldn't be shocked if Bournemouth pull out a draw either and Man City are hot and cold. Good win for Swansea, Clement doing well and it gives them a bit of breathing space. It see's Middlesboro the side who are also in danger now. On form you would see Hull get out of it so it would be 3 from Sunderland, Palace, Leicester and Middlesboro but it will change every week. Clement and Silva have done well so I wouldn't mind seeing Hull and Swansea stay up along with Middlesboro. Sunderland are dog awful and the win against palace was a one off. Would also be good to see Allardyce and Palace go down. And as much as I like Ranieri to see the Champions relegated would be unreal.
  10. Im going to take a wild guess at Charlie Adam
  11. 16 games unbeaten but still 6th. They dont play in the league again until March so may have a bit of catching up to do but Arsenal are the same. Plus the Thursday night cup starts again this week and could dent Man Utd. The race for the top 4 is getting great, would like to see it going to the wire. One week its Liverpool and Arsenal to miss out then its the Manchester clubs. Chelsea are going to win it and id be happy with Arsenal second, Spurs 3rd and Liverpool 4th. But Spurs are not firing on all cylinders and it could be them to slip away.
  12. As just mentioned on the other thread players like Miller and Wallace know they play for Rangers and not MW, Kenny has been there long enough to know this and will surely be getting this message across in the dressing room. You also wonder if players like Waghorn might be happy if his falling out with MW was true therefore he may perform. Dodoo may also get a chance now.
  13. Someone is lying but which side is it. The players contacting him means their heads may not be right for today, senior players like Miller is going to have to play his part off the park and get the players concentrating on the game itself.
  14. The club havent mentioned it. Its the media who are putting him in as the front runner plus Gordon Smith is pushing his name. As permanent manager its a non starter but if it was until the end of the season it might work although Walter would be my preference in those terms. FdB has said he wouldnt take a job mid season.
  15. Another half point for correcting Liverpool scoring 2 Liverpools record against the other 5 is good so it shows its not these games that win you the title. Chelsea can practically be crowned champions if they win today cant seem them losing 4 games.
  16. Suarez carried that Liverpool team. As for Swansea Martinez set them up and Sousa improved it, so things were easy for Rodgers. Rodgers will be back down south as soon as a big club come sniffing.
  17. Yeah but these two have no credibility. Every other pundit or media station is simply wondering what is going on.
  18. Im due a good weekend. Although I wanted to change my predication and have Southampton winning before kick offs but left it. Other scores are poised nicely. Everton should be 2 up by now, they have had a few chances. The amount of empty seats at West Ham is scary. Having all the games on live is a good nightmare - cant just sit and watch 1 game, its channel hoping non stop.
  19. If FdB has said he is willing to talk then the board should be inviting him for Sunday lunch straight away. But i think he would need a bit of time. Our main aim is to get second place in the in the league therefore Walter should be option b. Dont think we have a hope of Marco Silva as Rab mentioned - he will be snapped up if he doesnt stay on with Hull.
  20. I like Souness but he wouldnt be on my list although is far more appealing than Davies. Smith or McLeish (or Redknapp if he fancies it) until the end of the season. Next season Rowett or De Boer or Laudrup - the latter two is where a title challenging Rangers should be.
  21. No problem. I'll PM you when Im next in UK and sort something.
  22. Yes Rowett wouldnt be a bad shout. But if not then Redknapp and Ray Wilkins until the end of the season would be appealing.
  23. Obviously its not official yet and Id imagine MW will still turn up for work today if he is denying resigning. But what condition is the squad in for a new manager to take over? I would say its a lot fresher and promising from when MW took over from Ally. The older dead wood players are gone like McCulloch, Templeton and Shiels etc. But the a lot of the squad is MW's players and will they down tools and not appreciate playing for someone else - I suspect this more so with the loanees. The players have to remember they play for the club and not one man. So if the board didnt back MW in January that could be good for a new man in the summer to strengthen. We certainly need a couple of permanent midfielders. Crooks and Rossiter havent kicked a ball, Kranjcar is injured, Windass is injured a lot, Halliday hasnt stepped up, Holt is hot and cold, Forrester is in and out, MoH probably isnt the answer. The loan players Toral and Hyndman look good but I dont think we will see them again after May. Only McKay seems like a solid inclusion. Upfront Dodoo might be happy as he may get a chance now and rightly so. Waghorn was rumoured to also fall out with the manager if he can get last years form back we may have a good partnership on the cards. At the back Kiernan has his own issues with arguing off the park, Hill is 38 and Senderos not settled. So there is work to do for anyone taking over.
  24. Due to gambling laws I cant open any UK betting site, they are all firewalled off. But I managed to access thesackrace.com and some of the names are laughable and couldnt even be considered - how can McGhee and Stubbs even make the list!. Yet there is some good shouts. But I cant believe Billy Davies is 2/1 favourite. The list I can see is as follows and the odds are well off reality: Billy Davies 2/1 Derek McInnes 4/1 Fran De Boer 4/1 Tommy Wright 6/1 Walter Smith 8/1 Gio Van Bronckhurst 12/1 Graeme Murty 12/1 Alex McLeish 12/1 Gary Rowett 12/1 Graeme Souness 12/1 Barry Ferguson 14/1 Steve Clarke 16/1 Alan Pardew 20/1 Brian Laudrup 20/1 Joe Jordan 25/1 Gary McAllister 25/1 Steven Pressley 25/1 Graham Alexander 25/1 Alex Ferguson 25/1 Michael O Neill 25/1 Alex Neil 25/1 Alan Irvine 25/1 Harry Redknapp 25/1 Ricky Sbragia 25/1 Terry Butcher 25/1 Alan Stubbs 25/1 Mark McGhee 25/1
