  1. DK was good on Talksport - simplified things very well. The Europa League and Merchandise agreement are obviously the 2 key issues and aims. Qualify for one and sort out the other puts the club on the next level and next stage to progressing as the No.1 club again. We have to remember we are only 7 months back into the top flight and a return to the top is going to take time after the shambolic incompetent destructive mess that this board had to pick up on.
  2. But so did MW and you could tell he wanted out this season as it was too tough for hi. But he wasnt ever going to get a job in the Premier straight away. For Pedro - what will success be though? A title challenge? Some would see that he makes Rangers progress. Like you say - no issue with it long term if it means he has 55 to his name and we hear the Cl theme at Ibrox again.
  3. Nothing against Rae but I dont fancy him getting this job. There is something refreshing about Lovenkrands - Like the new approach continuing.
  4. Yeah broken leg. It was strange the TV didnt show any replays during the live match. Then we saw him receiving gas / oxygen and then while he was being carried off he looked ok and his head was up - must have been in shock and out of it.
  5. Waghorn is 20 goals a season. McKay and Hyndman would be double figures and its up to the other players and Pedro to get goal scoring midfielders. Miller, Garner and Dodoo off the bench would obviously contribute. Your going to get about 7 from Hill alone and Tav is capable of 5 from set pieces.
  6. To get Niko back would fit in superbly. As Craig says he will need a full pre season or risk the chance of looking like he is running with sand in his boots. This would be a pretty good side before any of Pedros signings. Foderingham Tavernier Hill Wilson Wallace Rossiter Windass Kranjcar Hyndman McKay Waghorn
  7. Ireland v Wales, utter garbage game. If only I could have had a bet on 0-0
  8. Id take the real Ronaldo right now. But there seems to be good links about this appointment and we could unearth a few jems, and if it means selling them on for big profit then so be it.
  9. No didnt hear that one, oh well maybe take back the comment although he might have been tongue in cheek whereas Walker and Sutton are on a bandwagon weekly.
  10. This has to be Strachans last chance. Anything other than 3 points should mean he moves aside and lets someone else come in and take over the rest of the campaign to get his ideas across for the following campaign. If we can only draw with Lithuania and Canada then Slovenia must be favourites. They arent a bad side. Population of 2 million and only been a national team on their own for less than 2 decades yet will out play Scotland. Rep Ireland v Wales tonight is a big game but as both cant lose I hope its 0-0. No other match ups of interest, its pretty much a round of big boys v minnows. You know international football has slipped when France and Holland / Italy and Spain / England and Scotland / Rep Ireland and Wales were all drawn in the same groups but it isnt appealing. Bring it back to midweek Wed night fixtures rather than split over 3 days with silly kick off times. Im not for seedings in club football but for qualifiying groups the likes of San Marino and Andorra should have to play pre-qualifiers like the Europa. I think I will go on a 3 day bender so its over and we get back to talking real football :drink:
  11. Charlie Nicholas is one pundit I like, always talks sense. obviously Celtic thru and thru but doesnt have cheap digs like say Andy Walker. Its refreshing when the football rivalry can be put aside. You go back to Tommy Burns funeral which affected McCoist and Walter. As for Cooper - Im probably 5 years too young to appreciate him. His penalty against Wales is one of my first football memories. That free kick in the Skol cup final is one of the biggest whoppers ever, it was a rocket. And to think balls were a lot heavier 30 years ago.

Rae, Ferguson, Lovenkrands, Brown all linked and it would be Lovenkrands all day long for me. I could see interference from the others further down the road. Id take Durie or Durrant back ahead of the other 3. It would be nice to see McCann get a mention. Someone who like Lovenkrands speaks well.
  13. A fit Kranjcar and Rossiter plus Hyndman back for another year along with McKay starts to look like a proper midfield.

That is utterly bizarre. I dreamt Lovenkrands got the position last night. Would actually be a good appointment.
  15. Where boos from the Canada fans for a poor draw with Scotland??
  16. He will have his own targets but it will depend on his budget. Like I said he will have rebuilding work to do with the midfield and possible add a defender or 2. Id be making those areas a more priority of a full overhaul of the strikers. You have missed Dodoo out and he would also be part of that. Id be quite happy still having Waghorn, Miller and Dodoo next season plus a replacement for Garner IMO.
  17. My word. Drawing with Canada at home.
  18. Agree fully and one of the best professionals going around. He probably has another season next year as a squad player before taking over the U20s. Im sure Caixinha will have his own targets but I wouldn't be surprised to see Waghorn part of his plans. It is likely to be Dodoo who moves out first and that's turned out to be a bizarre one. He possibly came with the best potential - English champions. But Caixinha will need to identify where he finds is the most important area of the park to cover first - considering Hyndman and Toral will go back to parent clubs in the summer and the other central midfielders not cutting it whether its injury or form the midfield is going to need some surgery. Getting Hyndman for another year would / should be priority. McKay is going to be key and if Kranjcar gets his game back to what he had pre injury we have a good start.
  19. There is more chance he would opt for Leeds but could depend on whether they go up or not. Same for Huddersfield, if either team go up their targets will change.
  20. Im hoping Waghorn stays and Pedro gets a bit more out of him. I think the ability is there but he was to much in and out under MW this season plus didn't get a run through the middle. Id rather Forest come in for Garner so we recoup some of the Million plus we paid.
  21. Mass backwards step. Surely someone will need to have a word with PC. How long until he disagrees with Pedro and aims to get the job himself. This move would have him odds on being the next Rangers manager. The fact that nobody has yet had a good thing to say about it on this respected forum speaks volumes.
  22. The international breaks come and go during Sept - Nov but I forgot there is one in march also which for me is a pain as this is the business end of the season. As such Im going to book a holiday this week and go away for a few days. I cant get excited about international games at all. There is a set of friendlies this week - what on earth for!!!
  23. Not for me. Yes 5 years ago but not at 33. A decent player on his day, hard working in a quality side with Utd but since his unfortunate illness he has been an average player. Might bring in a bit of experience and he is a good professional. But I think we could sign better.
  24. Good win for Spurs to score without Kane. Man Utd have overhauled Arsenal and I think they will sneak 4th. Arsenal are out of it for me, I dont see them winning much more games, there is mass issues in the dressing room there.
  25. Derby must be kicking themselves. Forest are still deep in the relegation battle and I would have a wry smile on my face if they drop. Same for Blackburn though.
