  1. Quality performance from Arsenal. If they had their shooting boots on then it would have been 5-1. Delighted for Wenger. I thought Mertesacker and Ramsay were outstanding and Ozil actually tried for once. This team is 2 players short - Reus and Calvalho would probably do it. Yet Wilshire and Cazorla still to come back.
  2. Chelsea heavy favourites for the double and cant see part anything than a comfortable win considering Arsenals defence issues. Koscielny is suspensed, Gabriel injured, Gibbs doubtful and Mustafi recovering from concussion meaning he is a doubt. That leaves Mertesacker and Holding for centre half. Considering that Man City were still favourites in the semi final and Arsenal went through, therefore considering the odds are good Ive a few various flutters on different results. Head says Arsenal 0-2 Chelsea but Im going for Arsenal 3-2 Chelsea possibly after extra time. Wont even look at the other final at Hampden.
  3. Clever buggars aswell learning all the check outs and then a miss shot they recalculate in a split second - which is practice but to mix that with concentration is good. Its no way a fitness sport but I consider it a sport. If something like Archery is in the olympics then Darts could be.
  4. 0-0 probably makes Hamilton slight favourites for the return.
  5. Merry go round has started. Monk, Silva and Allardyce all this week. So jobs on the go now - Leeds, Sunderland, Watford, Hull, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace. Tough jobs to take. I bet Redknapp is annoyed he took the Birmingham job so soon, he would have fancied the Palace job with a shorter commute from his south coast house and he would have done well there with Townsend, Zaha and Benteke.
  6. Full 25-man England squad - Not the strongest Ive seen from them at all. Good players but nothing much in the world class mould. They are strong in wide roles but at centre half and centre midfield there is weaknesses. Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Fraser Forster (Southampton), Joe Hart (Torino, on loan from Man City), Tom Heaton (Burnley) Defenders: Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Aaron Cresswell (West Ham), Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough), Phil Jones (Man Utd), Chris Smalling (Man Utd), John Stones (Man City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham), Kyle Walker (Tottenham) Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham), Eric Dier (Tottenham), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Man Utd), Jake Livermore (West Brom), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Man City) Forwards: Jermain Defoe (Sunderland), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Jamie Vardy (Leicester)
  7. I can agree with dropping the cup matches and keep it to league games only. But not massively worried about that. But overall not much changes needed. Score line and first goalscorer for sure plus maybe correct amount of Rangers goals. There was a suggestion earlier that only Rangers wins should be allowed - disagree with that. Having a punt on the odd away draw can gain points.
  8. If it was anything other than oddschecker the cynical side would say the Celtic cabal are trying to unsettle him before the cup final. If he has improved from Bristol days then he would be a good bet but Sunderland need changed from top to bottom, he could end up ruining himself there. However he will at least double his wages and he will be thinking he has taken Aberdeen as far as he can. Two cup finals and 3 second places finishes wont be improved on so you think he will be packing up soon enough.
  9. Ajax look a good side and want to play it the right way, they are probably 2-3 experienced good players away from being much better. First goal was unlucky.
  10. There is going to be a bit of a manager merry go round. With Palace and Sunderland jobs available it will trigger one or two current managers - and I see the Reading or Huddersfield manager being high on the list of clubs whoever doesn't go up. Also someone like Sean Dyche may get offered a bigger job.
  11. England will be worried! Could be an absolute hiding.

All understood except the last line. If Kranjcar and Rossiter are fit then thats a step up. Kranjcar is top class on his day.

    No suggestions???
  14. All 360 games were on here live except 3 fixtures yesterday had to go onto internet because they dont have enough channels. And thats why these clubs get so much money.

I'll hit some comments though Pete. Overall I think things need to be put into perspective. Coming back up through the leagues and not knowing what to expect. But we showed we are still better than 38 clubs in the country during a poor all round attempt. Warburton has just proved to be a full tank of fuel when we ran out but in a cheap car. And Im sure overall Ally is liked more than him for what they did. As for David Weir - he lost respect. Performances - Well Ive never seen the fans so split on opinions on players. Waghorn, Miller and Garner are the main one. 1 out of 3 get pass marks for me...and its the ageing one. Dissapointed in Waghorn as I felt he had the ability to step up but his finishing hasnt been great. Garner - Im just not a fan of this workman like ship putting himself about player. Ok he has scored about 5 goals and they seem to have turned out important which papers over cracks for me but I hope he is shacked up in Barnsley or Wigan by the end of the month. Pedro - Jury is out. I like what I hear but dont like what I see in big games. Yet I like what I see by having faith in youth and being a bit no nonsense - the next 2 months is going to be interesting. Just brainstorming here but Im sure others will add.

I was going to but there are far more qualified posters who see every game who would be better placed.
  17. Newcastle Leeds and Derby have had grounds like Villa Park, Hillsborough etc where allocation would be bigger compared to SPL which makes that figures even better. And they had 23 away games compared to our 19.
  18. Look forward to battling wits against you next season.

    Alves coming

BH listed potential opponents a while back which should be narrowed down now. It contained teams from Ireland, Wales and Iceland etc. I dont fancy Red Star in any qualifying game, they are still a good side.
  20. But that is a friendly warm up tournament. Not since Bobby Carlos free kick in France 97 has it had any interest. But it means another summer of football for Sanchez as Chile are in it being Copa America winners. Thats 3 summers in a row for him. He will eventually burn out at 28/29. Arsenal should keep him for one more good season and he may realise he needs a deal sooner rather than later during next season, alternatively take a silly deal for him and only lose his quality for a year because he looks knackered and will start to go downhill.
  21. No footy this summer, but before the sun comes out a few games to be decided. Ajax v Man Utd - Come on Ajax. But I think Man Utd will win. Real Madrid v Juventus - Wanted Juve and have thought its their year since the last 16 but may sway towards Real. Huddersfield v Reading - Said Reading at the start of the play offs, wont change my mind. Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Actually think Dundee Utd will come up. Scotland v England - This could be a licking. 3-0 England.

A good season review from someone would be good.
  23. I hope we dont trigger Ricky Gaulds 57 million fee from Sporting.

    Alves coming

When is the draw for Europa? I just looked at all the Euro tables and the leagues are pretty much over.
  25. They have just been very poor at home and need proper dealings in the transfer market this summer. There isnt much between Southampton in 8th and Watford in 17th, 2 games / wins could swing that. This summer will see a mass of manager changes and players changes. But I hope Bilic gets another year and proper backing. Hart, Zabaleta, Wilshire and Defoe all linked and would be good signings. Manager of the year is between Conte, Poch and Eddie Howe.
