I know mate. I agree whole heatedly, and as i keep saying. It seems that Rangers are the scapegoat in all this and we need to sort our own house out. From what i'm lead to believe it's only the Billy Boys that's banned. I love the song as much as any of us, but is it that hard not to sing it?

There is the chance UEFA's lawyers will say in reply,"Yes, we are going after Rangers, but we are looking at other clubs and will take action" This is why i think this will be a suspended ban on fans. It will allow UEFA to go after other clubs and impose fines and bans on their fans proving they are not singling out Rangers.

And say what though? "You will not ban our fans, our fans can sing what they want so there"??? This isn;t going away, YES we are the scapegoat, yes it's unfair and annoying as fuck, but it is what it is and we need to deal with as fans and the only way to make it go away is to stop sining.

Lads, asking who reported it is important, but it doesn't matter. UEFA can go back and listen to the songs during the match. It's like saying a Policeman didn't witness a fight up the town, but it's been caught on CCTV, but the CCTV footage can't be used in court. Of course it can.

Agreed. They have at long last found a way to get at us in a way that is actually hard, if not impossible to argue against when you have UEFA enforcing it. People need to wake up and smell the coffee now, this is the last wake up call we will be given. I don;t think we'll get the ban but it will be suspended for 2 or 3 years and we all know Spiers et-all will be watching our games with the volume up full waiting on us to sing certain songs. What i do think will happen now is the letter writers, Catholic church etc will be contacting UEFA with the words to other songs that are not yet banned by them telling UEFA how offended they are by them. People need to swallow some pride and take head of what's happening here and accept we canny sing the BB in Europe, as sad as that is.

I think this is the harsh reality of it mate. They have to start somewhere, and that somewhere is Rangers. My guess is that now wide spread violence is nowhere near as bad as it was 8+ years ago they can now concentrate on Racism/Bigotry flowing down the stands with much more vigour. This is not going away as the likes os Spiers the the Timmy letter writers will not let up, in fact from now on they will step up their cause as they now know they have the full attention of UEFA. As i say, the easy way out this is not to sing the songs.

I agree, but i'd hazard the guess that UEFA are adopting the attitude of "we have to start somewhere" and The Rangers are the starting point??

The easy way to avoid all this is actually simple. Don't sing the songs. We all know this is a deeply flawed situation, but the simple fact is UEFA are never going to change their minds. We are obviously being used as the scapegoat no thanks to various media outlets, Graham Spiers and the letter writing lego eaters from the east end. There's a bullet out there that people need to accept they have to bite.

Hi, i was at the Argyle house restaurant for lunch the other day.
Bears replied to Bears's topic in Rangers Chat
1. Why are Azure doing the refurb and not the club? I asked that myself and he said ,"Politics" and that they had been asking the club to do it for a few years so they basically took it upon themselves to do it 2. Just how long to Azure have left on their contract? Surely they wouldn't be spending £1.8m if it only had a year or two to run? He told me they have the contract to 2018 so i guess it makes good business sense for them to improve the product as in the long run they will profit- 10 replies

They are opening a can or worms here. I lived just outside Rotterdam for 4 years from 2000-2004 and was a regular at Feyenoord including two years as a season ticket holder. I'm sure you know the reputation that Feyenoord have and it is well merited. They pushed the boat with UEFA for years, but it was not with singing it was with stabbing, rioting, starting fires and making away fans in Europe feel unsafe. When Feyenoord play at De Kuip on regular Dutch games the away fans get a train to the stadium from their own ground and have a tunnel right into the away end so there is zero scope for trouble. So the hooligans, and fans in General (Feyenoord fans in general are aggressive) can't wait for European games as they know fans arrive willy nilly and will be in town. I have seen them play, Newcastle, Juve, Spurs, various german and Greek teams and from 10 in the morning in R'dam those fans are being attacked. I saw one sickening attack at Central station where a Juve fan was beaten to a pulp then slashed. At the ground it's a nightmare for away fans as it is actually not that well lit and there are nooks and crannies where the Feyenoord fans hide then pounce as Newcastle fans found out. Feyenoord did get banned for Europe a few times but it took them starting fires in Germany and wrecking the place before that happened and they had warning after warning after warning over 10-15 years before anything was done. I know this is a new approach from UEFA but if we are the scape goat then where does it stop?

Most tuesdays myself, mum and two uncles al meet up and go for a nice lunch somewhere on the southside. We are all rangers fans so we decided to go to Ibrox this tuesday. My uncle is 89 and is a lifelong Bear so he was over the moon with it and was full of stories about games at Ibrox over all those years. The food and view was excellent as were the staff as i am sure a lot of you will know anyways so it's well worth the visit. To cut a long story short we got talking to the stadium manager who was a nice wee guy. I brought up the state of thr Stadium as i am sure we all know it could do with a lick of paint. He told me the company he works for that take care of the stadium and all catering (it's a French company) are spending £1.8 million on doing up all the concourses and Kiosks in the summer. Basically the kiosks are getting ripped out and done up with new ovens and better food going to be available. I know that info is nothing ground breaking but it's nice to know that they are doing something about that side of Ibrox as it does need addressing
