I agree mate. it's taken me a while to actually get it into my thick head. This is it, this is where we are now so shut up and get on with it (aimed at myself BTW) We need options, and TBH i actually hope he bloody well signs now as we don't need yet another "trialist" type situation. I just hope we give him pay as you play as that will hopefully make sure he keeps up to a good enough level to keep his place in the team. I fear if we sign him on a monthly wage he'll not give a fuck
-
I'm ok with it as long as it's a strict pay as you play contract.
-
he does come over as a bumbling fool at times. I do enjoy his pops at Spiers though
-
One of the STV lads has said on twitter he'll have a one game ban if he comes back.
-
If he does come i hope it's a "Pay as you play" contract which would hopefully motivate him to play well to keep his place in the team. if he's on a regular weekly or monthly wage then he knows no matter how he plays, he gets paid which could install the lazy bug in his head.
-
Daniel Cousins agent is saying we're in talks to bring him back. Fucking hell!! IMO he'll come, collect a wage and deliver very little in return
-
I found this going through my favs, so thought i'd pop it on here
-
I agree to a point, you could say they are too "frightened" too incase they too come under attack from the Mhedia and the Bheasts from the east.
-
Exactly. It's when the tide is against you and you pull through no matter what, that makes a great, in fact not even a great manager just one that's good at his job
-
In the run up to CW taking us over was Traynor not supposed to be his Press Mole?
-
Are we remembering the fact that there's the ression etc and people have to tighten the purse strings?
-
The fact that this particular message board is more or less united on this particular situation is a big thing for Rangers.

I think it's time to bite the bullet and admit that this season is over. We need to build for the future. McCoist is not managerial material at our level. It's not as if he has come out the starting 11 and walked into the managers job, he had a 3/4 year apprenticeship under WS and it's plain to see it's not going to work. Rangers are NOT a long ball team at Ibrox esp, unless it's the last 5 mins desperation stuff which all teams do anyway. You could be cynical and say all along CW's motives for being tight with the purse strings are so he could force Ally out as he wants his own man. Although that effects us as fans with poor results it is understandable to me. I think Billy Davis is the man for the job. He's not working right now, he has a great deal of managerial experience at a high level and plays the ball on the deck. he'll also know a lot of players from the English lower leagues that would do well at Ibrox i know not everyone will agree with that, but you have to ask yourself, "Who else is there?" realistically.? I would let Ally go now and bring Davis in and let him find his feet, give CW targets for the summer and get his own coaching team in and get rid of the old guard. Rangers football club need a clean sweep from top to bottom so there is ZERO left from the DM years as those guys that are still there are in a comfort zone it seems to me esp Neil Murray, Durrant, Brown

Craig Whyte speaks to the Sun and sets record straight
Bears replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
If the Sun had gone along the same lines as the DR we would have dismissed it though. This is where selective reading comes in. The Sun is full of shite and although it makes good reading for us. it IS still the Sun. Pinch of salt comes to mind -
The way i look at it is he is saving us money now to level us out finically in the long term. that means acute, and difficult decisions that look terrible to us as fans. Don't get me wrong i fully understand you view. I feel in "x" amount of years we will look back and say,"Fair enough, he got it right" How many years that is, i don't know? We as Bears are not a very patient bunch, but patience is something we are going to have to dig out in abundance right now. Rome wasn't built in a day, the guys only been in the job 6 months, he needs to be trusted and given time to prove he can sort this mess out.

I actually went to school with Neil Murray, (Marr College in Troon) and he was as quiet as a mouse at school. Had a small group of friends and never really said much. He was a smart cookie at school and it was no surprise the line of work he went into after his playing career was over. It shocked me when he got the chief scouting role as that would mean talking face to face with major power houses in the game of football, something i would find hard to believe he would be confident at this trade. But to give him his due he may well have changed since 1991 when we both left school

Fair enough mate. I am in now way a businessman, nor know anything about corporate law etc, i'm just calling it from a guy on the streets point of view.
-
There have been other "little" bills cropping up for 5 figure sums from Law firms, and maintenance firms too remember. He obviously was not shown the full monty financially IMO.

"Rangers and job for the boys" I waiting till this transfer window was shut before i posted this. Back when Ally was confirmed as our new gaffer, and then installed, Neil Murray, Brown, Durrant etc in positions i said that that was a mistake and that i HATE the "jobs for the boys" attitude Rangers have. We should have had a complete clear out of the old guard and in no way let guys like Neil Murray near Rangers in a chief scouting roll as you don't give that job to someone with no experience at Rangers. Now, i know all football teams should have a ex player or two in and around the club, it would be foolish not too. But not as many as The Rangers have, they are far too comfortable IMO. Neil Murray, he was the one guy i "strongly" objected to being at Ibrox. He's not a proven scout. I would have let Durrant move to pastures new and brought in a proven European coach to train the first team squad. We should also have brought in someone that had been a football scout at the highest level for decades, not a ex player who was an accountant. This has been proved correct IMO. The guy has been a disaster. We were told at one point that he had pointed out 5 players for each position on the field. Well if those "trialists" were those players the guy should clear his desk this morning. As for CW. He has my strong backing. Remember when he bought us, with in a few days, or the days leading up this £2Million tax bill that know on knew about popped up. I think there has been other financial revelations that he did not know about have cropped up, and as yet he has not disclosed to the Rangers family and could be the reason why he still has not had the accounts signed off. These ex board members taking snipper shots at him are cunts of the highest order. They sat there and were nothing more than "yes men" taking 6 figure salaries home each year. if they were so concerned at the way Rangers were being finically ran why did they not pipe up years ago when DM was burying us. Rome was not built in a day, Craig Whyte does need time to balance the books, and ultimately we will not see his true colours till a year(ish) after the tax case is finalised. THIS IS ALL DAVID MURRAY'S FAULT!!! Just my two Bobs worth
-
Ok, do you honestly think we could afford him? Would he leave Norwich who are doing very well in the EPL to come to us? Could we afford the fee for an EPL teams captain who is playing well.? Could we afford to pay a wage to him that would make him want to move to the SPL and The Rangers? Come on mate, wake up and smell the coffee
-
There's a million excuses
-
I hate saying this but the Grant Holt thing is bullshit. RFC are doing it so they can say,"we did try" knowing fine well he'll never leave or be sold
-
That does make a lot of sense and has taken me back 3 steps after going 5 forward
-
From a personal point of view i still trust him, but it is harder and harder to keep doing so. I do think it's apparent he bit off more than he could chew, but he's here and will have to learn quickly. As he says we have not stopped trying to get players in, we just don't have the cash to throw money at players like we did in the past. I think we have to wait till the tax thing is over, then we can properly judge him, i'll give him a year to show his cards, i know that will be afr too long for a lot of Bears though. The one thing is cling to when doubts come into my mind is the fact he's still a young businessman, he has made mega bucks so there is a brain and business acumen there. He will not want to have a massive cloud hanging over his head for the rest of his career/life that he was a guy that ruined Rangers Football Club. He'll want to be known as the guy that came in at possibly the most difficult period of our clubs history, weathered a huge storm and came out the other side with a finically stable club that is wining trophies and has a name in the game that holds pedigree again.

It has settled me down a lot. I know we can pick at what he's said, and what we've been told from other sources. I'm pleased he's spoke up ASAP
