  1. I'm pretty sure it was a UK law that you can't go from director of one company to another that run the same kind of business?. To be fair this was 1997 and i might have my wires crossed?
  2. I used to work for Clydeport. They "poached" a director from Forthports. The director from Fourthports had to take a year out of anything to do with that line of work before he could move to Clydeport because at that level of business it's UK law. Maybe this is the same type of thing?
  3. How they can say this without knowing who the new owners is beyond me. The new owner might come in and sack the whole backroom and managment staff in one big swoop. Unlikely, i know, but still. This is total guess work.
  4. As has been said AEG and rangers would "fit" Look at some of the other ice hockey teams they own in Europe. I don't think they'd be making mega bucks off them. They obviously like big arenas/ sports stadiums, well Ibrox os the best stadium in the country, ok it could do with a bit of work but my guess is this company would do that. They are massive in the stadium concert game, so i'd guess they'd put on a few gigs in the summer. Also, the ground around Ibrox, they might have their eye on that for some sort of development, like a indoor arena at the Albion? I know AJ splits the fans, but one thing for sure, he is a Rangers fan. My guess os he'll know the powers that be at this company well, both professionally and personally as they're paths will cross all the time. For all AJ has no official role at Ibrox any more, that doesn't stop him being a fan and recommending us to AEG. In fact i'd bet he's mentioned us to them over the years since DM put us up for sale. I know people will say,"why didn't they buy us before CW" To me that's a bad way to look at this. Things have changed and the current situation might suit them better? I am not holding my breath over this lot, i have two fists full of salt, but both rangers and this companies portfolio do fit in rather neatly together.
  5. https://twitter.com/#!/ryz147 Check the tweets. I have no idea who the tweeter is BTW
  6. I didn't know that. I think it's me being thick mate> BTW it's flashed up on twitter that it is AEG that are making a bid for us American giants AEG are poised to launch takeover bid of Glasgow Rangers. The American Billionaire Philip Anschutz is behind the takeover bid. He see Rangers as a prefect opportunity to expand his already expansive sporting folio.
  7. That's good to hear. I do understand why they've not published it though, as you say, the other bidders will only gazzump them
  8. I think you're being a bit harsh there. He's ensuring we don't have another bill to pay to an expensive lawyer mate. And who knows, may be he will return?
  9. Yeah that'd work
  10. The one thing that will hold it back is the fact it's "hoops" We have too many shallow fans that won't back it because of that
  11. we should campaign for those to be our away colours from now on
  12. What is their manifesto? I've not seen it published?
  13. Ok. Is it a case of us as fans being impatient? Should we not be giving the BK's a bit more breathing space at this time? I'm very sceptical about them, but will wait and see what they have to say before i make a final decision of how i personally see their manifesto and if it suits the way i want a new Rangers to be ran. They could be keeping their cards close to their chest right now so they don;t give too much away to the other two bidders?
  14. Yip, is there not a poster on here that lives there?
  15. My friend has just this second posted this "I hope it's not Profitable Plots, which is a singaporean investment company which has promoted locals doing business in UK, mostly land related, Steve McMahon ex Dippers skipper was involved with them. I have no reason to believe PP is invloved with a Rangers bid but they are bad news...." http://singaporeuncletrader.wordpress.com/2010/12/10/update-profitable-plots-scam-claims-value-actually-twice-as-large/ Kind of pisses on my last post hahahahah> But still, if there was one country i would hand pick for honesty in business out this neck of the Woos it's Singapore.
  16. Deffo mate. I know a lot of people think that the "Far East" all operate the same. This is very untrue. it's like saying the whole of Europe is the same. I've lived out this way a long time now and i've been coming out here since 1993. I like to think i'm pretty well educated about the region. There's a thing out here called, "Face". This is one common trait they all have out here, they hate to loose it. Singapore is well known for it's strict laws, that counts for business too. If the Singapore lot do get control then i'm dam sure they will do a good job. I wouldn't be too sure how much fan input they would allow though, that would be their downfall. Unless it's a company owned or ran by a Scottish or British ex-pat which is a possibility. I know some will think they are doing it to spread the Rangers name out here, sorry, that won;t work at all. You're lucky to find anyone out this way that's ever heard of Rangers that's not of Uk decent. Also, rangers games are on TV out here anyway, so that can't be the angle?
  17. I have a good friend who's lived and worked in Singapore for years, he owns a very successful company (or is a share holder) I asked him on facebook if he'd heard anything, or would have an idea who the Singaporean bidder could be. This is his reply copy and pasted " No idea mate, plenty of wealthy people in Singapore, i'd expect they would only be interested in whatever they can make from the club" I know this won't come to any shock to most of us, but we are all grasping for info hence why i've posted it I'm sure most know how strict Singapore law is, so this might not be a bad lot to take us forwards if they do get us
  18. I saw this on twitter http://theweeproclaimer.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/mark-dingwall-cant-keep-a-secret/
  19. That makes a lot of sense to me mate
  20. I've asked that question in another thread. is it just a "loan" till the club offers shares to fans? More investigation and clarity is needed on this subject very quickly
  21. Murray has also secured the backing of investment firm Ticketus, who despite being tainted by their £24.4million deal with disgraced Craig Whyte, are now willing to back the Blue Knights’ bid and provide “substantial” working capital for the stricken club to continue to operate until the launch of a share issue, which will allow fans to buy a piece of the club. That says to me,"We'll LOAN you the money till the fans buy in" AM i wrong with this opinion as it worries me even more
  22. There's two points in this post that jump out at me 1. We must be out of administration by Scottish cup final day or we start next season with minus 10 points 2. We're now down to three bidders, One is the BK's, One from Singapore and one from the States. I know people think that Singapore is on the far east, it's not. It's south east asia, there's a big difference in culture and the way they do things. Plus the laws and the way Singapore companies do business, i'd be more than happy for a company from there, and it being very close to me, to be the owners of Rangers, as long as the administrators are happy and they are open to fan involvement, which i think they would be.
  23. It's why they've brought tickitus on board. That seems like desperation on both sides there. Like most people, alarm bells are ringing. I'll wait till the real facts and manifesto are published before totally writing them off though
  24. Impressive but it doesn't look like he's got serious money
