Rangers news: City urges 'Gers to â??sort outâ?? chaos
Calgacus replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
You don't need to be a "source" to know that turbulence like this will have an adverse effect on the share price. -
Sad to say, but what happens on the field is the least of our worries at the moment.
-
and something better than Mather's rather disingenuous statement on Saturday. The individuals making the EGM requisition may not have put money into the Club but they seem to be speaking on behalf of a sizable chunk of the institutional investors, who clearly have concerns about the way the Club is being run.

Green creates chaos where ever he goes

I think it means that there is now open war within Rangers

I don't care about the politics of who owns Rangers as long as they make a good job of it. The fact that this has been brought up may suggest a certain desperation on the part of Ahmed's camp. Who would you prefer involved with Rangers - a respected businessman who supports independence or an alleged gangster?

The timing of this is less than helpful, from both sides. We had a bit of momentum with the SFA's decision not to fine Hearts and Dunfermilne when they had fined us for an insolvency event. But then we had the return of Green and the EGM requisition which have become the focus of media attention and taking our legitimate complaint out of the spotlight,

Mike Ashley looks set to leave Newcastle for Rangers

Could this story have been floated to help the shareprice? -
The British aspect of our identity is interesting. My father who is in his 80s now says that when he was going to games in the 50s Rangers were primarily Scottish, there was much less emphasis on being British. I started going in the 70s and as far as I remember our identity was more Scottish than British. We were proud when our players were selected fro Scotland and even had a Scotland select for John Greig's testimonial - I can't imagine that happening now. We were 100% Scottish when the problems in Barcelona and Birmingham (Aston Villa) were being reported. I wonder if we have "become" more British as a reaction to the increasing Irishness of Celtic?

The Summer 2013 Transfers and Rumours Thread

drat..never thought of that! -
I know it's only preseason, but there are signs that Ally is still making the same mistakes that he did last season and the season before.

that's a relief! -
It is even more ridiculous at a time when there is a review of staffing ongoing, which is bound to end in people being made redundant.

what was sung/chanted at the games in Holland and Germany? I hadn't heard there were any problems.

After the interview he gave on STV when he made himself look like an absolute fool, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Ibrox.

Why do we always seem to get so many injuries?

Sandaza contract finally terminated in mutual agreement
Calgacus replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
There has been a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. Legal disputes are rarely black and white, there are often faults on both sides, Even the strongest case can go pear shaped when it comes before the guy in the red jersey. Sensible parties will usually seek a compromise and the settlement figure will reflect the relative strength of the parties position. Without knowing the amounts involved it's impossible for anyone to say who was the winner and who was the loser in this situation. One would hope that Green consulted with the Club's Employment Law Solicitors before deciding to get rid of Sandaza. -

Sacking him was not one of Green's cleverer decisions. -
He wasn't helped by Willie Waddell using his position as a journalist in the Express (I think) to undermine him.

Let's hope that the current crop of signings work out better than last year's and the year's before.

size of support we took today and overall crowd?
Calgacus replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm sure it was in the twitter feed -
Green's list of Directorships suggests that he doesn't hang around anywhere for long.

It is usually quite easy for full time employees/officials etc to run rings round part time/voluntary supervisors, whether it be the Bar Steward at the local bowling club or a mutli national company

This is going from bad to worse. No harm to Mather, he may be good at the job, but you don't give a job like that to the first guy that wanders along
