We are a very very boring side to watch, I bet they weren't too many neutrals still watching when the 2nd half started.

If we are to achieve our rightful place as top dogs in Scotland then hopefully all the scumbags who tried to kill us off without success will still be in existence clamouring for our return. That way, we can kick ass on the football field...then and only then. As for Kilmarnock they didn't vote to kick us out for whatever reason...so good on them.

Yes we are producing some fine young players that are carrying our hopes right now, what a diversion from all the crap that's getting 'flung' at us along with having to play in the lower league in Scotland. It's a desperately long haul for us 'Gers fans but the young guy's like MacLeod and others mentioned can only be good for the club and long may it continue. This is gonna be one helluva journey for us all. WATP!

Leggat - HARPER MACLEOD MAN SET TO JOIN CELTIC
54andcounting replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Don't know if we went about sitting on our hands mate, the club f**ked up big time we as fans had nothing to do with thinking we were untouchable - the club went down some road that led us to this place. Our enemies took advantage and gave us a big giuy. Our response is revenge like the Tannadice boycott and all that with more to follow. It's a gigantic mire. Football is all about beating your biggest rival and we always managed to get the better of them on average, now we face the rest of Scottish football and somehow that right now is our biggest rival with diddy crap teams that were once powerful putting the boot in to Celtic's joy. Aye, did we really sit on our hands? We were a sitting duck with vultures lying in wait. I'm sickened with the treatment dished out to a Scottish institution by so called Scots....time to move the f**k out and leave the rest to themselves. -
Danny Wilson - NO Kris Boyd - YES.

Leggat - HARPER MACLEOD MAN SET TO JOIN CELTIC

Could be the reason Green shouted about joining the English set up. Game set and match is almost there. -
Wow!! Dreamland in it's severity.........GET BOYD BACK. Goals are what the fans pay for.

Thanks dB. I looked and found this - England have had 4 different winners in the last 9 seasons (3 different clubs in last 3 years) Germany have had 5 different winners in last 9 years (4 in last 3) Italy 3 winners in last 3 seasons. Spain: have had a two horse race for 8 years now. Scotland's two horse race has been running for a generation. In fact only once in the last 17 years has a team outside the OF finished 2nd. Our game has been dying a slow death and there's nothing that reconstruction can do about it.

...and the RoI Premier League for them..

Looks like someone said "We need to let Fran go" and they picked the wrong one.

Too right they will, Craig

No...c*lt*c wouldn't follow us into the English league, remember they said they don't need us.

If we did go into this 'Blue Square League' how many years would it take to reach the EPL if we won promotion every season?

Charles Green on Talksport - 10.45 approx
54andcounting replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
Jings!!!! I started reading this thread from the beginning and it's went from Charles Green on Talksport to Rangers playing english teams. Comeofit started by slagging the appointment of Jim Traynor, then it descended into childish pops at at one another. Aye...Why did Rangers FC employ Jim Traynor as some sort of spokesman for us? Never thought I'd see the day when we would be so desperate to offer him a job. I stopped buying papers because of Jim Traynor, I cringed and stopped listening to his Saturday BBC Radio sports slot because of him. Ah did. Surprised that some bears on here 'gang up' on Comeofit because he initially expressed his disgust at the appointment of the said Jim Traynor. Is 'comeofit' a Rangers fan? Possibly. Does 'comeofit' remember the real Jim Traynor? Yes. -
Old Firm should play in England, says Harry Redknapp

Can't give you a link to this, but it was written in November 2009. Proposals to accept Glasgow rivals Celtic and Rangers into an expanded Premier League will be put forward for consideration this week. Bolton chairman Phil Gartside will pitch plans for a two-tier league of between 36 and 40 teams on Thursday. It is understood there would be a top tier of 18 clubs, with promotion and relegation to and from the league. Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp have backed the inclusion of the Scottish clubs. Former Celtic manager O'Neill told BBC Radio 5 live: "I would like to see both teams in the Premier League. I think it would make the Premier League even stronger. "I've been there, Celtic is just an unbelievable football club and Rangers also. "I don't think for one minute the likes of ourselves, Aston Villa, would sit back and think 'well that's it', or just give up. I think all clubs would try and get stronger because of it." Redknapp told the Daily Record: "I would welcome Celtic and Rangers to English football if they wanted to play down here. "No doubt about it, I'm sure they would be good for the English game." The proposals are a revival of Gartside's ideas which received a hostile reception from the Premier League's 20 chairmen six months ago. However, Gartside, the driving force behind the revamp, has tweaked the original plans to include promotion and relegation to and from the dual-tier league, while the two Scottish clubs would initially be invited to join the lower tier. The Bolton chairman is also believed to be open to inviting an Irish franchise into the league in the future. Former Birmingham City chairman David Gold told BBC Radio 5 live that the Premier League needed "new thinking, new proposals, new ideas" to "save itself from itself". However, Stoke owner Peter Coates said there was no need to change a league which was already an "enormous success". "There is no indication that it [the Premier League] needs Rangers and Celtic to take it further," he said. And BBC Sport's Dan Roan said the proposals would represent a "radical overhaul" of the pyramid structure. "Gartside is one of the most powerful men in the English game," he told BBC Radio 5 live. "He's one of the longest-serving chairman in the Premier League, a man who sits on the FA board, one of just three professional representatives on the FA board, so I think it's fair to say that it's a serious proposal and deserves to be listened to." -

Quite the opposite...him and Martin O'Neil (Villa) back in 2009 voiced their support for BOTH clubs to join the EPL. -
The fans argument for bigger leagues in Scotland (ie two leagues of 18) is to give clubs more time to introduce and develop hopeful youth players into the game. It's always been argued for years that the lack of bigger leagues has resulted in the demise of Scottish football. Well Scottish football now have us - the guinea pigs - to see if this is indeed the case. We'll be playing in that league of 18 next season - if reports go to plan - we will then be in the important position of proving that small leagues made up of 10/12 teams have strangled our game. We have magnificent facilities in place to bring young players through, we will be playing in lots of games where we can afford to blood outstanding potential talent for the future, we've done quite well so far given the illegal transfer embargo judging by the teenagers pulling on the jersey just now after only 6 months into this season. Maybe we will be the saviours of Scottish football, maybe we'll produce some of the finest talent seen in this country for decades, maybe it's an impossibility but we have a helluva opportunity in front of us. Scottish football has always looked up to Rangers as guiding lights, nothing has changed. Hope we can deliver, and return to our rightful place.

I know this happened over 20 years ago......but it's the first I'd seen it. [video=youtube;9t_8pfbCH-4]

It's not really reconstruction is it? there are still 12 clubs in the top league and Rangers will be one of them come 2015-16. (We hope!!) No-body up there wants us so maybe by making it slightly more difficult for us they could get their wish. Remember the 12 clubs in SPL2 will be stronger due to the extra dosh they'll make by the time we get to play them. There's also this 'split shite' 3 leagues of eight. At the end of season 2014-15 we'll be playing against FOUR clubs from SPL 1 and the other TOP 3 from SPL 2 to gain promotion. That could be a banana skin, but not if we have the right players in place by then.
