I yearn for the day when Rangers players learn to pass the ball and take advantage of dead ball situations, we've got some cracking young guys just now with a full season playing together under their belt, fingers crossed things should click into place soon. -

Full-time 4-1 German football on the verge of greatness again. As a kid I loved watching W. Germany and Bayern wipe the floor with opponents..last night and tonight reminded me of that. Borussia side average age 23.

Last game v Berwick expected to sell out today
54andcounting replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
It's fantastic our last home game of the season is selling out. I remember during the week before the first one against East Stirling the same thing was being predicted by Rangers and Ally said this: â??Itâ??s up to us now to give them a winning team they enjoy watching.â? Ach well, there's always next season. -
Sorted that for you Tumshie

“I believe the target of anything in life should be to do it so well that it becomes an art. When you read some books they are fantastic, the writer touches something in you that you know you would not have brought out of yourself. He makes you discover something interesting in your life. If you are living like an animal, what is the point of living? What makes daily life interesting is that we try to transform it to something that is close to art. And football is like that.” - Arsene Wenger -

I never find it difficult to despise managers of that green and grey lot across the city, but even when 'wee Chesney' was in charge there and winning title after title I still couldn't muster up hatred for the man, although I was sick to the back teeth of him winning trophies for them I must add. He has always struck me as an intelligent dignified person with no hidden agendas, someone who just got on with the job he was there to do, It was no surprise the fans of that club wanted him out because he wasn't 'Celtic minded' He's always coming out with sensible stuff simple common sense to be exact. What he had to say today about Scottish football and the direction it should be taking to save itself just cements my opinion of him. He reckons Scottish Football needs to be split into full-time and part-time leagues if it is to find a straightforward solution to league reconstruction. The Scotland manager today gave his opinion on the ongoing reform saga just a week after SPL proposals for a 12-12-18 format were voted out by St Mirren and Ross County. He has urged the powers that be to be bold in their plans - and not just 'tamper' with the status quo. Speaking at the launch of the PFA Scotland Manager of the Year Awards this afternoon, Strachan said: "If you are going to make change then make big changes - don't just tamper with it, do it properly and make it worthwhile. "In my opinion, quite simply, make a league for all the full time clubs. These clubs are putting their money and their necks and jobs on the line and if you are part time you are not really doing that. You are really a community club if you are part time. When a reporter asked "Should that include Rangers?" He replied "Anyone who wants to be full time, anyone who wants to put up the money and bring money into the game and bring in sponsors, they have to be the priority. "So make a league for everyone who wants to be full time and, if not, go and have your own league. You can still bring players through but be a community club. "If at some stage you want to put your neck on the line and join the full time league then go for it. "But at the moment I think that would simplify it all." Yep...says it all really, he aint 'Celtic minded' that is for sure. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gordon-strachan-calls-bold-reconstruction-1849761

Dorin Goian (coming back) and Nicky Clark (a target)
54andcounting replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Can't say I'm delighted at the prospect of Dorin Goian coming back, but the thought of signing Nicky Clark fills me with hope. He scored his 2nd hat-trick of the season at the weekend (all coming in the 2nd half) against Forfar on their 3G pitch taking his tally to 38 for the season - three short of the club RECORD. Here's how he done it. His first goal came when all alone at the back post was picked out by his strike partner - although Clark missed the ball completely with his right foot, he did guide it into the net with the other. His second goal came when he played a one two with Burns - then right-footed into the top right hand corner first time. He completed his hat-trick when Holt seized on a loose ball before sliding Clark in behind the back line again, he easily rounded the keeper and tapped into the empty net. 38 goals? Not bad for a 21 year old. -
