Craig it's only October and already we are out of Europe to a crap team, and even Falkirk managed one over us, now St Mirren have done some damage to our title hopes with a stupid late goal against us....all I'm saying is if this trend continues into the coming months then Celtic WILL take advantage, I know they are rubbish at the moment, but they turned certain defeat today into a draw and it could well kick start their season - we got a draw too, but it wasn't inspiring, that's all I'm saying.

After the recent disappointment v St Mirren which came about with the loss of an injury time goal to the opposition, I ask should we be concerned about the trend so far affecting our season? Late goals have seen us dumped out of Europe with an injury time concede to mighty Maribor, we then unbelievably got humped out the 'Rangers Cup' against Falkirk again with a goal deep into injury time. This latest loss of a goal with the last kick of the game, although not totally damaging, sees a worrying fault within our current squad....why are we switching off in injury time? Ally and his staff MUST instill in his players to keep playing to the FINAL whistle or this season could well end in disaster. We remain realistically 7 points ahead of timmy, but anymore of these slip-ups could be disastrous in our drive for 4iar.

Agreed, zero investment meant non qualification in Europe against teams that shouldn't even be there......then again, 3 in a row was nice. What ever happened to that once great club, our greatest rivals? They invest - don't qualify for Europe (unless it's for some desparate appeal to EUFA) and can't win the league for hate or money? Weird. -
Ahhh, big 'gas meter', 'The Girvan Lighthouse' European champion - great big guy was Pete, Souness when he arrived cleared the place, but kept Peter on, says it all about the big Rangers keeper.

Wonder if Thompson will get the same treatment as Murray of Hibs got when returning to Ibrox....Hope not.

One of my favourite memories of a Rangers keeper was the brilliant performance of 'conducting' by stand in Graham Roberts! :robbo:

Rangers Striker Nikica Jelavic Confirms Fenerbahce Offer

Was that the £9M offer that 'Gers spoke of and Septic ridiculed? -
Gazza and Lauders were undoubtedly great players for Rangers but at a certain age you remember players who were even BETTER than those two (honest!).....'Gers reached THREE European cup finals and won one of them...c'mon the 'Auld Yins' on here, what about guy's like......Greig, Shearer, Caldow, Henderson, Brand, Wilson, Stein, Bud, Doddy, Jardine, Baxter, Dave Smith, Johnstone......etc, etc, ALL better than G & L, anyone for a pint?

Jelavic: Old Firm demolition showed Gers are the best
54andcounting replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Jelly is spot on and there's nothing wrong with him stating the obvious, but my moan is the man isn't quite doing it for us at the moment, sure we're 10 clear but Jelly gives the impression he couldn't give a fcuk right now, maybe he thinks by coming out with those comments it will get him favour with the fans. Personally it doesn't wash with me....c'mon Jelly, shut yer mouth and start earning your corn on the pitch mate. -
Havn't posted a new thread on here for a while, got a wee drink in me and feeling in cloud nine. I've been a 'Ger for of all my long life since my dad took me to Ibrox for the first time back in the sixties and right now I'm so excited about this 2011-12 season. OK we are out of the CL and have been dumped out the 'Rangers' cup by Falkirk, but hey 10 points clear and the sun is still shining f**k me, I'm feeling so proud. I watched players like Greig, Henderson, Baxter and Caldow, in my youth I suffered the 9 in a row, my first cup final was a 4-0 drubbing by you know who, the first time I saw Rangers lift a cup was when 'Big Derek' headed the winner at Hampden in the League Cup Final. I went along with my dad to Barcelona in '72 and I'll never forget those two days in Spain especially as my favourite player of ALL time 'Bud' Johnston scored two goals. The Scottish Cup Final v Hearts in 1986 when Derek scored the opener when I was making my way through the heaving crowd to get to my usual place at kick-off - I'm telling you, I had to scramble over a wall to get in to Hampden then as the doors were 'locked' many many fans did the same. I was there when Septic won everything....then we got Souness. I know some on here have no time for him, but the years before him were 'dark' he brought in Walter, then.....Butcher, Woods, Roberts, all Englishmen but we loved it....Durrant, McCoist, Ferguson, what a mix, other greats followed - McCall, Gough, Stevens, Robertson, Munro, 'The Goalie', Bomber, Lauders, Gazza, Albertz, van Bronckhorst I'd be here all night if I tried to list that great era........ Anyway, I've got a feeling about this present squad....Anyone for 9 in a row? As I said 'Im proud to be a Ger' (and Im pissed, so what?) 10 points clear, that is really something. It's not really a thread you can respond to...but, f**k it, WATP!

He's a left winger right? His two VITAL assists came in from the right wing, at Tannadice back in September and at Ibrox v Hibs, both converted by Laff, both games finished 1-0 to the Champions. He'll need to improve his crosses from his natural position, and then some. The jury's out.

Naisy gets a two match ban for an elbow, alright, ok - Commons gets a 1 game ban for his leg break attempt on a Jambo. The WHOLE system needs looking at again!!!!

At the offset it must be said there were concerns, the pre-season flops especially that 1st game against the 4th division team from Germany (can't even remember their name now) the opening league draw at home to Hearts, the 2 games v Malmo, then the disastrious elimination from Europe to 'minnows' Maribor, somehow Ally got through it, well you couldn't SACK the guy for that could you? The loss of Weir, Papac, Wallace and Bartley in defence to injury didn't help, and Whittaker's BIG mistakes had the writing on the wall for Coisty, Bougherra let him down because of his own interests, but the emergence of Goian & Bocanegra (Ally signings) have in effect saved his job, add to that the tried and trusted midfield lads who have stood up to be counted especially Mo Edu an easy target for what went wrong. Experienced guys like Davis, Naisy and Laff have grabbed the mantle and now unsurprisingly we're flowing. We have the best keeper in the country if not Europe (forget that gaff against the Mhanks) Gregg Wylde although frustrating at times has sent in vital crosses for precious wins namely at Tannadice and the game v Hibs (Kyle converted both). Once Jelly hits top form then us Rangers fans are in for a treat. Ally has always been a lucky b*****d......look at the players he has at his disposal. With Papac, Ness & Bartley back in the frame things can only get better. No dough, 4 in a row.

Andy Walker or is it Andy Wanker....listen to his comment whilst the Mhankymob are singing 'Roll of honour' 46mins v Hearts. Says it all about him.
-
Superbly put up bud....this is explosive, as Frankie said: Great job mate!
-
Considering this is Rangers best start to a league campaign since 1999 (better goal diff. than Walter's team last year) then yes, I trust Ally. I trust Lennon too - this is their WORST start since 1998!!! Even Mowbray had more points than him after 9 games.
-
For what it's worth....about 10 years ago when I was self-imployed, I was chased up by HMRC for £2500, I can't remember the complete details but after months of demands and threats (the person dealing with it used to call me on my mobile many times) I simply pleaded poverty (I really was skint and could not afford it) in the end they settled for £900. Result!

He played as a right winger v Hibs and I thought for the first 10 minutes he looked class, but then nothing? He did get injured though early on.

I think it's becoming TOO EASY for Rangers now, home and away whether it's 1-0 or 4-0 - as our last 20 league games stats prove: P 20 W18 D2 L0 F48 A5 Pts56..............our last 11 AWAY league games must be some kind of record: P11 W11 D0 L0 F31 A1 Pts33 that solitary away goal lost came after we wrapped up 3iar v Killie. I know we can lose our next game 0-3, but it doesn't matter 55 is a cert.
