  1. .....sorry for the delay in reply Craig, but your comments are pretty coming from a 'Gers fan? I DON'T want to see any professional player get injured, but if you go in for the ball then 100% commitment is required, Jig's got that, so has Kayal.....who came out best? Get a grip man. Am I happy Kayal got injured?....well let's say I'm glad it wasn't Jig, maybe you'de rather it WAS Jig. Good luck.
  2. Wrong mate, rather an opponent cops it than some fairy in a Rangers shirt. Do you think Kayal went in 100%? When he got injured last season that was Walters words.....YOU must have been watching some other team? ....No, I'm a fan 54 and counting!
  3. Good draw, United at Ibrox, and I hope BBC Scotland DON'T get to show the game as that prick Liam McLeod will be doing the commentary (?). He's a stand out fanny! The last time we played United at Ibrox, it was a league game back in November, I was far up North and making my way home in the car listening to the game on radio, I had to endure his pish on describing the match on bbc radio Scotland, most of the time he 'blethered' instead of actually commentating on the game, I was like "What the f**k is happening" while he talked about some game that happened 40 years ago, anyway we won 3-1 and forged 15 points ahead. Jelavic scored our first two goals in that game and when the third went in I was delighted Jelavic had completed his hat-trick. 'Dick' McLeod said it was Jela again "A hat-trick from Jelavic", he even asked his co-commentator what he thought of that 'magnificent' hat-trick'. I reached my hotel in Tarbet convinced Jelavic had scored all our goals in the 3-1 win and probably bored the other guests in the hotel with my rants of how great the Rangers were, and super Jellies hat-trick. Roll on the Sunday morning...I read in the papers the third goal was an o.g.!!! Eventually got home Sunday evening and tuned into that crap football programme on bbc Scotland: "Sportscene": And d'you what? Rangers v Dundee United highlights are on and LIAM MCLEOD is commentating (?).........see when the 3rd goal goes in, McLeod voice immediately screams "Ohhh...THAT'S AN OWN GOAL!!". BBC Scotland "Fu*k Off", I won't be listening to that cretin McLeod for sure. If beeb get that game, just listen to that wankers commentary, how the fuck he got that job, beats me? He is hopeless!!
  4. Good read that on wiki, didn't know about half the things on there...seems we've had a gem hidden away in the background for too long.
  5. Name the creative players that THEY have...? ...and I'll easily outnumbered you with names WE have.
  6. .....Ohhhh!!
  7. ...an 8 game ban for racist stuff on a football field of play is now set in stone. Racist stuff in the street quite rightly is punished by a jail sentence. Footballers have a charmed life, Evra is a wimp who has an unhealthy attitude towards South Americans. Same thing.
  8. How can you blame Jig? You have an obvious dislike for that player so for that reason it's his fault? That's shocking man! And because Ally keeps picking him, then HE is to blame as well? Sorry Zap, but McCulloch has been an absolute star for us. You may remember before his injury last season he was a stick on for 'Player Of The Year'! .....and it was his 100% commitment in the OF game and a 50-50 with Smhelly Kayal that saw him remain in the frame and Kayal facing a season out. Again mate, give me 11 Jigs in a Rangers team any day.
  9. I'll have TWO predictions....only because right now we have TWO Rangers at the moment, hopefully this is allowed? If Rangers turn up and actually earn the big wages they're on.....6-0 ...but, if the imposters turn up, it'll be 2-1 'Gers. Hope there isn't a THIRD team tho'?
  10. I've read some of it...my initial response is Evra is a little insecure and over reactive.
  11. Sorry Danny, I meant no offence at all mate, it's just that Ally isn't getting a break here, sure he blew a 15 point lead which realistically was 9 (still massive). The players have let him down badly which if continues may well result in his demise. All I was trying to say was that we shouldn't blame the manager, his hands are tied at the moment, like Smiths was before him.
  12. Whittaker injured now? Bloody hell, bare bones.
  13. Well how is that McCoists fault? So Naismith gets injured, this scenario has been hanging over us for 4 years now, cant buy players, club in debt, Ally cant find a solution when the window is firmly shut, so sack the guy? it's his fault, seriously lads take a wake up call, your condemnation of McCoist is really out of hand. If, and right now it's a big if, Rangers are celebrating 4-in-a-row come May, then I wont join you in saying McCoist is a jammy bastard....
  14. Actually 'Bud' took over from Davy Wison on the wing around '66. He played that position in the '67 CWC Final v Bayern. Persson was signed the following season along with a certain Alex Ferguson. In those days (as I'm sure you know) players were allocated jerseys to reflect what part of the field they played, No1-Keeper, 2-right back, 3-left back, 4-right half, 5 centre half, 6-left half, 7-right wing, 8-inside right, 9-centre forward, 10-inside left, 11-left wing, when Persson was signed he went to the No. 11 position (left wing) Johnston was moved to 10 (inside left) simply because he had an eye for goal. Alex Ferguson played centre forward (No.9). We won hee-haw that season. Johnston flirted with the No's 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 jerseys because of his varsatility, what a player. The following season (1968-69) Ferguson was dumped for Colin Stein, and Persson was still holding on to the No.11 shirt again we won hee-haw. The following year (1969-70) Alex MacDonald was brought to the fore, he took 'Bud's jersey (10) and Bud went back to his rightful left wing position. Again we won hee-haw, but the big turning point came when 16yo Derek Johnstone headed the winner in the '70-'71 league cup final against dominant Celtic under Stein, who since by the way have never been able to match that period in their entire history. 'Big Derek's' goal came from a sweet cross from the right wing, such was Bud's versatility. Anyways Maybe Orjan played left wing, but Willie Johnston was such an inspiration back in those dark days. He delivered our only European Trophy to date, a Rangers legend
  15. Spot on Danny, it was.
  16. I can remember long long way back when Ally took in his first OF game as manager and triumphed 4-2, then built up a 15 point lead over the Mhanks, after that he had grief from so called Rangers fans. How the fuck can anyone succeed with that record?
  17. McCulloch is a no-nonsense type player, aggressive, in your face battler, he's not a gifted graceful prancing about type, he also happens to play for Rangers. Take Broon of the Septics, he also is all of those things with a little less skill, will he be 'brought to book' for his style?. No. He plays for Celtic.
  18. 'Bud's last game for Rangers was v Dundee at Ibrox December '81, Tam's was 5 weeks before v St Mirren also at Ibrox. I know Johnston wasn't always on top form in every game and indeed could be very frustrating to watch at times, but for me the guy was worth the entrance fee alone when on song, and that was more often than not. Brilliant entertainer, fantastic servant who was hounded by those who hated him. As for Wilson....am no tha' auld.
  19. I was impressed by Lee Wallace's performance on the left wing in the game v Motherwell. As an 'oldie' I just loved watching guy's like 'Bud' Johnston tearing down the left wing and sending over beautiful crosses to awaiting forwards, Coop used to turn defenders inside and out before delivering the telling cross. I'm wondering what other 'Gersnet' fans think? Wallace or Wylde?
  20. I usually take a hot flask of tea and some biscuits with me...well I'm telling a lie. When I visit Arbroath I always have a hot bowl of broth to keep me warm, along with my tartan rug and fleecy coat.....the lad's on the bus keep me right with their sing songs of ancestry, songs like 'My Father Wore' 'No Surrender' 'The Bouncy' but I must admit after a couple of drams, I lose it when they start that song 'The Bluebells Are Blue'...I always forget the words. Ach well fellow bluenoses, don't forget WATP.
  21. Is this the same poll from way back when? I'm sure I contributed to it, can I double contribute?
  22. Man U. are sinking. Too many big money men to cope with now, it happens....look at Rangers, Celtic, Liverpool etc,etc
  23. .....Back to the post, McCoist is cutting his teeth as a manager, a wee bit like most managers do...no better than at the club he loves. Maybe someone can put a poll on here regarding Ally as a manager. Like, is he the right choice? Or not? Perhaps a Yes/No type poll....mine's is a Yes.
  24. Stein? Oops! That's only 5. But at least Smith had that, Struth had more though.
  25. Jelavic knew what he was coming into regarding SPL with Rangers...am fed up with these players who use Rangers for a ticket into the EPL, the guy's attitude was "ah canny dae this, gonny get me oota here". If you can't handle it in a supposedly poor league then the transfer value drops. Jelavic couldn't handle it, so 6.5m is double money. Grab it.
