1972. Greatest Ever 'Gers team in living memory...
54andcounting replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Ok, 1972 'living memory' is only for 'auld yins' like me...so why are you replying to this post when you weren't even born? Back off Craig 1972 team was a better team than 1993 for one reason mate. -
I know I'm labouring the point on here, but get Jela to f**k he's a Eastern European who hasn't a clue about 'rivalry' in a footballing sense...he's only interested in furthering his career and other managers see that crap shite attitude coming to the fore. If we can get £6M for a dud like him then grab it. He wants to go to England and used Rangers to get him there. Better to get rid of baggage like him.

I too hate it when people say 'end of' that's why I replied to GA medicine for medicine...... GREATEST EVER 'GERS TEAM IN LIVING MEMORY....1972. If anyone can say there is a better team than that team then good on you? That's all I'm saying? My stance is the '72 team was the Greatest. -
Just watched St Johnstone snatch victory at Easter Rd. Sandaza slotting home the winner 3 minutes from time. Last week he ran rings round our defence. Bringing him to Ibrox and playing him with better players will be so much better than watching 'uninterested' Jelavic plod about and feign injury every time he gets touched. What a passenger Jela has turned out to be.
-
We ARE stuttering without substance...Jela is unhappy at Ibrox that is known, and it's having a detrimental affect on the WHOLE team, I've already said this till I'm BLUE in the face, Rangers want him out for as much money as possible, but to hold out until the last minute could affect where the league medals end up.

True mate, and Larsson only got 26 in 101 games for Feyenoord...if he's half as good as he was then he'll do. -

After watching that video of Bruins I'd suggest we get him RIGHT NOW! -
Just watched the game Balotelli won a penalty in the fourth minute of added on time, he converted the award and City won 3-2. The guy shouldn't have even been on the pitch - late in the game he had a tussle with Parker of Spurs and clearly tried to stamp on his head, a shocking incident that could have blinded the Spurs man. The ref missed it, but the cameras didn't. He should get a ban.

I for one am not part of the 'Sack Ally' brigade I believe he wasn't backed properly last summer by owner CW when it was obvious our squad wasn't big enough to cope with an injury crisis. I hope during this window we can bring in some quality and then go on the type of run we were on up until the start November when unbeaten after 15 games. It just so happens that since back then Septic have won all there games, so they are due a slip and we'll see how they handle it. We still have to play them twice and I don't think they are as good as they'de like everyone to believe, so I'm still optimistic about 4iar, the window closes in 9 days, let's hope CW digs deep and provides Ally with some serious dough to make that title dream come true. And then Coisty can be the hero again.

To be honest I thought we done quite well today we were a shade unlucky not to win the game, the problem lies with our front two - Healy just isn't good enough for us and Jalavics pathetic attempts at lay offs for team mates was utter pish and the sooner he leaves the club the better also I'm wondering what McCoist sees in Wylde he simply can't cross a ball? Aluko was taking corners today and was putting in some tasty efforts all the time, then on comes Wylde who took over that duty and his delivery was abysmal as usual. McCoist looks to have signed a good player in Celik, he now needs to bring in a prolific striker asap - if there are any available. I see Sandaza scored the winner for St Johnstone, he'll do for me, come on Ally...get into CW's office and demand he splash the cash ffs before he goes elsewhere.

Greatest Rangers team EVER in Europe? The Bayern XI we swept aside that night was full of quality. When Rangers humped them at Ibrox 2-0 (see link) and progressed to the final then ultimately collect their first European trophy. What ever happened to that quality German side sent home well and truly shagged? Well....... 2 mths later SIX players from that team went and won EURO 1972 with W. Germany. 2 years on (1974) Bayern won the European Cup, NINE of the 'beaten' played in the Final. 2 months after that, W. Germany took care of Holland 2-1 to win the World Cup. Six of that side played, the same six who won EURO 1972. The next season (1975) Bayern retained the European Cup, With SEVEN from the afore mentioned Ibrox game 1976. Three in a row - Again with 7 players from that 2-0 drubbing. Here's the game....'Bud' even finds time to sit on the ball during it all, and the 'Gers fans sang 'Go Home Ya Huns' Timmy hi-jacked other club fans chant YET AGAIN!! - couldn't make it up, memories are made of this. http://youtu.be/Pd90vE8kJHk

Why not create a thread where anything goes, something like 'Anything you want to talk about thread that cant be moved or deleted' then der Berliner cant possibly complain? Then again, on second thoughts..... -
Growing up as boy and having a kick-a-bout in the street as a 'Gers fan is something we've all done.....but who was your role model? Who did you want to be? For me there was none other than Willie 'Bud' Johnston. Greatest Ranger ever to wear the jersey. He was my first favourite player and remains my favourite of all time. Who's yours?

From Sheep Shagging Bastard to Rangers saviour - Aluko has come a long way in such a short space of time. Give him the contract he deserves before it's too late.
