Time to right a few wrongs - Rangers v Celtic
forlanssister replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Never thought I'd see Warburton put out a team that was too negative but that was simply damage limitation today, there was simply no belief that we could have won that today. Playing Hodson (who I thought had an excellent game) and Tavernier to negate the threat of Sinclair and Tierney certainly worked but also neutered the attacking threat of Tavernier. Our passing was simply atrocious all game long. Midfield sat too far back and offered no assistance to the forwards, most of the game we seemed to be playing 4 1 4 1, They pressed us high up the park and stopped us playing it out from the back while we sat back and left Miller to chase shadows when they were playing it out the back. Thought Kiernan had one of his better games in a Rangers shirt but once again one of his all too common lapses in concentration cost us dear but Wallace was at greater fault than him for their goal. Windass is a talent with real potential but today he was woeful hardly found a blue shirt though he most certainly wasn't alone in that respect. Still don't think we're as bad as results seem to indicate (I know, I know!) but our wastefulness in-front of goal this season is simply lamentable and has to be addressed as a matter of urgency. I'd be inclined to try O'Halloran through the middle but only if we play the ball in front of him, in the little game time he's had we stick him on the the wing and tend to play the ball to him when he's facing his own goal the result of which more often than not results in him hitting it back first time to whoever passed it to him. Another noticeable aspect today was how we seemed to take an eternity to take throw ins for a team that likes to take quick free kicks and quick short corners to try and keep the tempo up that is quite bizarre, Wallace was by far the worst culprit in that respect today. Can't get the fact that MacKay is the new whipping boy round my head, yes his standards have slipped but he's still the only player we have that could do something out of the ordinary in order to change a game. -

Of course the photos were a case of get your retaliation in first, Celtic's PR whilst not having the mythical status that some believe is at least organised and primed for damage limitation. Where was our PR ? It's rumoured Traynor was on holiday, Kerr had a day off and Carol Paton was left holding the fort a recipe for a shambles if ever there was one. Our Board really need to get a grip in regards to PR as Level5 deliver f*&k all but the odd photo shoot for selling tickets, rising stars etc. Been saying for years the Board should go on hands and knees to David Burnside and beg him to help or at the very least get him in to set up a suitable structure and oversee it. Penny pinching on PR is costing us dear and continues to damage us consistently. -

Not a chance we'd sell out a Europa League Qualifier at £40 a ticket and I believe the Board would have the wit to realise that. Game would probably be against a relative minnow, be televised and in all probability be played first week of July perhaps even earlier. -

Years of investigation, millions of £'s spent, hundreds of thousands of documents and they basically fall back to Alastair Jonston's initial complaint of "financial assistance". At least Prentice should bring some competence to the proceedings, God knows it sorely needs some. -

It's not really when you consider that the turnout of eligible voters in the Fans Board elections was circa 5%. I think the gap between eligible voters and votes cast will be huge.

It's not theoretical at all it'll be very real come close of play on Thursday. I wouldn't be so disparaging of my potential constituency. I watched the hustings and to be honest you came across better than most that evening. Other than what's in this thread the only other thing I can find is the quote below from http://club1872.co.uk/my-club-1872/elections-2/johnathan-mcgookin/ I assume this is what you mean by your "application". I find the bit in bold rather disingenuous as I'm of the opinion getting 90% of the eligible membership to vote is practically impossible but I suppose that's why it was phrased in that particular manner, I imagine the election results will give an indication of those not suffering voting apathy. Indeed it will. I didn't allege anything at all I stated my opinion that none of the candidates have in my opinion adequately explained the dis-application of preemption rights and the possible outcomes thereof. Looks pretty literal to me. Not exactly the actions of men wanting a return on their investment is it? Well I suspect that makes me one of many, many fools, but wft do I know I've only been dealing in shares for 33 years. I really doubt it would provide anything resembling a profitable return. It is my belief first issue at least will have to be on a non-preemptive basis. Getting shares for cash isn't a return it's an exchange. You contradict yourself by stating "of any kind", it's hard to see things as pretty obvious when you are constantly inconsistent through out the thread. I too am aghast that you cannot explain your position constantly and adequately due to flip flopping all over the place. The loans will only ever be "effectively written off" when and if they actually are written off until then they are still being carried and at some point will have to settled be that via repayment (worst option imho) conversion into equity whether via ordinary shares (your worst nightmare by the look of it)or some other type of stock whether over a period of time or in a single event or imho the least likely option a write off again over a period of time or in a single instance. I fail to see how an open ended unsecured interest free loan could possibly be described as "an incentivised investment" Pointing out that our finances are not as strong as we need them to be to get to where we need to be and pointing out that it's my belief we need a large injection of capital is a world away from "continually reiterating the "so-called" perilous nature of our finances". What conjecture? As previously stated the loans will have to settled at some point, my preference but what appears your worst nightmare is to convert them into equity. If underwriting part or the whole of any issue the shares can be at a discount. ???? Here's me thinking the only asset currently held is equity consisting of ordinary 1p shares in RIFC plc, (though Bluedell my question my use of asset!) and of course a cash balance. One more thing good luck in the election.

Easiest way would be for example say Club 1872 to underwrite a rights issue (or a proportion of it) but that doesn't in itself guarantee additional shares if it's fully subscribed, an Open Offer is another method but that's quite limited (not sure if a Cash Box Placing could be another option). The dis-application of preemption rights is a useful tool in the right hands so it's basically it comes down to a case of whether you trust the current Board or not. It has to be voted on annually whether to renew it or not. Personally I think it would be the correct option in the short term but don't foresee the need for it to be a permanent fixture.
