Ally McCoist: Don't blame me for failure of Resolution 11
forlanssister replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
How can you claim to support the board, state they're doing their best then hope they can find investment when you renege on a promise to support the resolution that would have paved the way for that investment. He's taking us for idiots and not for the first time either. He's far from stupid he's not broken his silence for no reason, that's him and Walter singing from the same hymn sheet but for whose benefit. -
It's nothing to do with blame, the MD stated quite clearly we were going down the DoF route he didn't state we were appointing Ross Wilson. If we don't appoint a DoF then he looks foolish for stating we were going down that route. What any potential DoF gets elsewhere is irrelevant to us.
-
On the contrary it would leave the Managing Director looking rather foolish.

We'll be the best coiffured team in the SPL!

Greg Stobart @gstobart 1h1 hour ago More More changes to THFC's recruitment staff. Paul Mitchell now gone & David Webb left role as 'head of elite potential identification' last wk https://twitter.com/gstobart

Ashley and Sports Direct are probably the only entities on the planet that make our PR seem remotely competent by comparison. Anyone who thinks for one second having Ashley and his acolytes control Rangers is the path to glory needs sectioned.

Sky Sports ScotlandVerified account @ScotlandSky 7m7 minutes ago More WATCH Graeme Murty- Rob Kiernan's red card against St Johnstone worth an appeal.
-
From my view in the WE I have to agree, if that's the standard for a red we should be seeing a lot more of them in Scottish football. You know as soon as Clancy is confirmed as match ref he's going to screw us over.

Two years on - appraising the Rangers board

They assumed the risk themselves didn't they? Ostensibly to avoid the farcical situation of suing Charles Green in Civil Court whilst simultaneously paying his legal fees and to avoid paying his legal fees in any criminal case he faces That's a black hole as sadly we're not privy till things like a shareholder attempting to jail the Chairman, writs being served on Directors etc become public. I imagine that would be perfectly possible but don't know if it's feasible (though I lean towards it being so). -
Pardew is such an uninspiring option even without his ties to Ashley and Llambias. If he is anywhere near the top of the list then it's clear the fans ambitions are higher than the Boards. I'd like to think the Board are more progressive than that.

I'd prefer to see truly independent non-executives on all the boards including the subsidiary companies but concede that is extremely unlikely to happen. -

Aren't Stewart Robertson and Andrew Dickson accountants too? -

Undoubtedly they should be remunerated at the commensurate rate for the job and their experience but asking them to do so without liability insurance in the current climate is a hell of an ask and would severely curtail the pool of potential candidates. I don't think anyone would have a problem with truly independent directors being remunerated. I'd also prefer them to come from a business background rather than an accountancy background as there's plenty of them there already. -
Scandalous decision.

David Bates was a loan signing. -
Collective responsibility eh? Obviously only when it suits.

I assume they are big hitters or were when you were on the RST Board because if they weren't it would have been rather pointless trying to get them to invest financially in backing the RST's attempt to gain control of the Club wouldn't it?
-
Indeed that would be the preference but as much as I'd like to see that happen I don't see it arriving till there are changes to the current set up within the Boardroom and real independent non-executives are introduced.
-
I tend to agree in the most, it's clear the Board were dealing with the decision but there was little they could do when the management team decided to indulge in their own version of the Hokey Cokey and left the Board as hostages to fortune. Where the shambles part comes in imo is in the delivery of the message i.e the PR or rather what masquerades as PR at Rangers. That is a long term problem but one that has been stressed to the Board ad infinitum from virtually every possible angle .You pay peanuts you get monkeys but I'm all for phoning PG Tips to see if they've any of the chimps left as I doubt they could be any worse than the current set up.
-
I'm sure we'll find out if that is indeed the case or if there is some substance to it, fwiw I think it has as we've reached the stage where is an absolute necessity and contrary to popular believe the Board are far from stupid, there is no way on earth we can go forward without additional capital.
