When I read these rants I often think the only thing missing is the Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells nom de plume.

Disabled football fans 'need better facilities'

Good to see the English taking it seriously http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/09/18/manchester-united-chelsea-face-legal-threat-told-hang-heads/ Personally I'm not aware of any single Scottish club meeting the guidelines though Hearts may with the completion of their new stand. What I've seen of the plans for Aberdeen's proposed new stadium it will not comply. Rangers need to increase capacity by over 100%. -

He couldn't even win the Challenge/Ramsden's/Petrofac Cup in three attempts there's no way he would have won the Championship. -

Miss Dempster still got her season ticket in the Main Stand?...

I imagine anyone of age would do likewise but the world moves on whether we like it or not. I think Scotland managed to become an insignificant backwater rather well on its own accord, looking to blame others for our own failings is I suppose the most Scottish of traits. I've always thought football chants should be humourous or offensive preferably both but alas the realpolitik is rather different nowadays, it sometimes appears as if people are getting offended because nobody's offending them. I'd happily let any opposition sing whatever they want provided we could do likewise.

The bottom half of the stand at Dortmund is a traditional old fashioned terrace that gets converted to seating for European games. Only the top part of the stand is rail seating. Such a set up at Ibrox is simply not feasible as it would require the entire area being given over to safe standing to be rebuilt to a two step set up, something those advocating safe standing either don't realise or choose to ignore. That is why there is an increase in capacity in German stadiums. Converting the Copland front as it is would if anything lead to a reduction in capacity not an increase.

Bit surprised at the response the picture has generated as I've previously posted worse. To be fair to Ross County that scene can be virtually replicated across the vast majority of the grounds in Scotland with the honourable exceptions of Tynecastle and McDiarmid Park. Not quite sure how Fulton MacGregor can make the following claim.... ....having attended all SPFL grounds barring Cliftonhill and Meadowbank my experience is that the opposite is true. Most clubs take it that seriously that they'll issue the odd statement, post the odd item on their website and em that's about it, their actions don't extend to spending money and creating suitable wheelchair spaces that offer a view of the whole pitch and a modicum of shelter. Perhaps Mr MacGregor can tell us who is incumbent for ensuring that clubs do actually cater for all fans as it doesn't appear to be his Government nor either the SPFL or SFA. The Government of which Mr MacGregor is a member of has the power to rectify this as have both the SPFL and the SFA but other than the odd platitude they all do absolutely nothing. No Scottish Government has done anything to improve disabled access to and the facilities therein of any football ground in Scotland. The SPFL and the SFA are an even bigger joke . It's barely two years ago that the SFA deliberately, calculatingly and knowingly screwed over Scottish wheelchair fans at Hampden for the sake of some filthy lucre from German TV, they pocketed tens of thousands issued a couple of grand in refunds and a half hearted faux apology. Nice to see Police Scotland get in on the act too... ....considering they too have been aware of the concerns for years and when these concerns are put to them during games they're met by nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/11850846/SFA-apologises-for-blocking-disabled-fans-view-with-advertising-boards.html In the sorry tale of Scottish football there is no moral high ground, it affects the supporters of each and every club. -
Seriously just wtf?

I know the girl got done for it but it was a boy who threw the flare at Falkirk. Ah yes back in the days before stadiums were all seated eh?
-
At Falkirk the flare that was thrown onto the pitch and burned a hole on the astroturf flew 6 inches in front of my face. At Airdrie the smoke bomb was let off right in front of the disabled section and at least two people had to leave and receive medical treatment, that wasn't the first or last occasion that this has happened either. Tell me when you see someone with tubes up their nose and an oxygen cylinder attached to their wheelchair do you really think letting off a smoke bomb in front of them is funny? The boy at Motherwell was injured in the head when a banger exploded in mid air beside him. If you look back on FF you'll see a thread started by the boy's father on the incident.
-
Airdrie and Falkirk to name but two, most disabled seating at away grounds is pitchside at the front of the Rangers support. At Sheffield over the top of my head were thrown smoke bombs, bangers, bottles and coins. The bangers very much are explosive devices. A 15 year old boy sitting with his father in the Rangers end at Motherwell was injured by one thankfully relatively minor on that occasion but it's only a matter of time before some unfortunate soul pays a heavy price for someone else's idea of a bit of fun. If they bangers are safe why don't they hold them in their hands till they explode?
-
I've seen disabled fans having to leave the game and receive medical treatment because twats think it's fun to let them off in the disabled section, I constantly see parents having to calm down extremely distressed disabled children when smoke bombs, flares and bangers (which are usually commercial detonators) are let off in their vicinity. Overly sensitive and stiff upper lip my arse.
