Failing to get all the excitement this is generating. I don't view this as a positive step at all.

Of course but it doesn't end there, the current arrangements fall foul of the Equalities Act which is why there has been all the publicity down south in getting Premier League clubs to comply.- 50 replies

The Stewards did their job as did the Police. Each ticket number was checked off as each ticket was proffered and once the capacity was reached the gate was closed. Now there's a valid argument that the tickets should have had greater security features and been harder to forge and I certainly agree with that because once the tickets were released it was clear there was going to a problem with forgeries but the fault with that lays with the football authorities who approved the tickets. The SPFL on several occasions on our journey through the Leagues organised the printing of tickets from Clubs particularly after the Elgin debacle. However it boils down to the fact it was Bears who knowingly f*&ked over other Bears it wasn't Fraserburgh FC, the Stewards or the Police who did that. I have the utmost sympathy for every valid ticket holder who was unable to get into the Bellslea that night.

The financial cost is irrelevant if it's a condition of your licence. The cost of not addressing the situation far exceeds that of addressing it and that's simply because it has been kicked down the road for decades. A point to remember too is that one day you may need to avail yourself of the facilities, as it currently stands you'd be told "ok that's your name on the list you're #222 call us again in ten years time".- 50 replies

Money isn't the major obstacle it's the lack of will. I doubt either St Mirren nor Partick Thistle are rolling in it but they've taken the matter seriously and addressed it. Rangers have the wheelchair spaces recommended for a stadium of 12,000 would you like to see us limited to 12,000 fans for home European games?- 50 replies

This was on the first visit to Dingwall earlier this season. Obviously the reaction to this photo did some good. This time round before kick off I spoke to one of the higher ranking Policemen and asked if us in wheelchairs could go in front of the hoardings and he said yes and he had absolutely no problems or concerns in accommodating such a request. Although you can't work it quite from the above photo this made a massive difference to the view for us wheelchair users. After about 15 minutes a Steward came down and told us all to go back behind the hoardings citing their favourite catch all "Health and Safety", we declined his request citing the Police response, he came back 5 minutes later and asked if the carers would go behind the hoardings a request we acceded to. A wee bit of common sense by all parties which made a huge difference to our view and enjoyment of the game. This lasted till Cummings goal and the invasion of the Neds then the Stewards came en masse and lined up like in the photo above though there was nobody where the 4 Police are grouped in that photo. I just hope the Neds haven't ruined it for any subsequent visit to Victoria Park for us wheelchair users. Tuesday sees us visit Partick Thistle who are moving us out of the front of the Main Stand which I quite liked as it was slightly elevated, sheltered and afforded clear unobstructed views and into the Jackie Husband Stand with the rest of the Rangers fans. It looks to be a decent area and if we can see over those standing up in front of the platform (it's hard to tell from certain from the photos but looks promising) it will a very welcome addition indeed and one like the new St Mirren area puts larger Club's to shame. St Mirren's recent addition in their Main Stand. Nice to see at least some sections of Scottish football taking the matter seriously and showing it's more a case of a willing mind than a fat wallet. News reaches me that UEFA have now started the process of moving the recommendations of the Access For All report http://www.cafefootball.eu/sites/default/files/contentfiles/pdfs/UEFAandCAFEGoodPracticeGuideENG.pdf from being merely guidelines and becoming regulation. I doubt this will be an overnight implementation but it's a most welcome development and can't come round soon enough. Meanwhile the SFA announce that after 2020 all Scotland games, semi-finals and finals will be played at either Hampden or Murrayfield probably the worst to grounds in the country for wheelchair fans. Makes you proud to be Scottish eh?- 50 replies

We have had an eventful few weeks at the club and more importantly around the town, so it is only correct that we place on record our thanks to each and every one of you who have helped in any way. For fear of forgetting someone it is difficult to list the many who helped from both near and far but please know your help was highly appreciated. Many thanks also to all the businesses and homes which had decorated their windows and gardens in the colours of the club and in some cases the colours of our opponents. It has been a fantastic sight going around the town and seeing what it means to everyone to have a football club at the heart of it. If there was ever a reminder to us of our roots and to continue what we do, then this was it. It is genuinely heart-warming to think that our club has been the catalyst for all the good will and happy faces we have witnessed recently. It has past now, and we move back to normality but with that we can take the memories with us and aim to try and replicate that feeling again. In my own head I don’t think there is anybody prouder than me to be a Brocher but deep down I know that isn’t the case and what I have witnessed recently gives me confidence that we really do have a great town bubbling under the surface of all the negativity we hear sometimes. As is always the case there are some who you can never please and who will find the pettiest of things to complain about, but that is life. We tried our best to do the right thing and unfortunately got abuse from some people but once they understood what we were trying to achieve they realised we were trying to look out for them. However, from a very small section of people, we continued to get abuse and criticism and the bad side of social media makes it look worse than it really is. We could come out and say that we don’t care and if you don’t like it then tough, we don’t need you. That might be a reasonable response to some folk, but we won’t do that, it isn’t our style. We want as much people as possible to embrace the club and the town. We don’t get everything right and sometimes we don’t even get most things right, but we do try our best to do the right things in the hope that it works. The Fraserburgh FC Supporters Club have done a marvellous job and I must thank Brian Topping, Kenny McDonald and Mike McLean for the fantastic amount of help they gave us in getting the tickets distributed. The night of the space heaters might sound like a Science Fiction movie but in fact was one of the most humbling things I have ever witnessed and cemented my belief that we truly have a decent community. It was a shame that it didn’t work but it showed to us that we have help there when needed. Rangers FC, The Scottish FA, Aberdeenshire Council and last but by no means least Police Scotland have all been unbelievably helpful. Without the help and support of you guys we would not have got off the ground. Every one of those organisations are made to look like cannon fodder with the amount of criticism they receive sometimes but we have nothing but respect and gratitude for them all. Nothing has been a problem for them. To my fellow Directors and club officials, I thank you for all the hard work in getting the game hosted at Bellslea Park and subsequently being the great occasion, it was. I don’t think people realise how much work goes into the running of a football club and getting matches organised but even I was taken aback by the magnitude of work required for this. We got there though and can look back with pride. Finally, to the players, coaching staff and management. You were the reason we were in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup and must thank you for that but more importantly the way you all conducted yourselves in the media storm that surrounded the game. It was great fun, but it was done in a professional way that portrayed the club in a good light to the watching nation. We can’t ask for more than that. It was an occasion for everyone in the town and one we can all look back on fondly. A million thanks ! BBC Scotland reporter apologises to Rangers FC
forlanssister replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Had the misfortune to be beside Idessane pitchside in Podgorica when we played Zeta, he interviewed Walter Smith and Barry Ferguson. He was wearing and I kid you not an official BBC embroidered polo shirt emblazoned with Celtic UEFA Cup Final in Seville. Walter Smith did register his disgust but the bold Kheredine claimed he'd nothing else to wear and just laughed. -

The real Bryan Hay is one of our own. WHO NEEDS GARETH BALE? Fraserburgh-daft farmer supports local team with GIANT hay mascot ahead of Scottish Cup clash with Rangers Mike Reid has built his very own Bryan Hay to support his team in the upcoming match PICTURED By Rachel Macpherson 28th January 2018, 2:28 pm Updated: 28th January 2018, 2:51 pm WHO needs Gareth Bale? Fraserburgh have their own new mascot Bryan HAY. As the town gears up for the Rangers vs Fraserburgh match later this week, this farmer has created his own hilarious way of supporting the local team. JASON NICOL 2 Farmer Mike Reid showed support for the local team by building his own player Mike Reid, 44, has fashioned his own player – who shares its name with the REAL Fraserburgh star Bryan Hay – from bales to cheer on supporters and his side in the Scottish Cup clash this Wednesday. Mike said: “We created him out round straw bales and then stacked them up. “A friend did the face and my pal Graham made the strip for it. “Ronald Anderson gave us permission to put it on his land, on the way into Fraserburgh. Fraserburgh vs Rangers: Live stream, TV channel, kick-off and team news “We’re just trying to support the local team. “If I support them, maybe they’ll support their local dairy farm.” It comes after fans were left heartbroken when the cup clash was cancelled last weekend due to bad weather conditions. But Mike reveals that the town are now abuzz ahead of the match with businesses decked out to support the team. JASON NICOL 2 The player was built in the entrance to Fraserburgh Mike said: “It’s a great atmosphere in the town. “It was a shame it was called off last Sunday for the frost. It was a real team effort to try and make sure it went ahead, but we couldn’t keep the pitch from freezing. “Not a lot happens in Fraserburgh, so people are excited about the match.” Unfortunately, Mike won’t be able to attend the game on Wednesday. But he admits he might try to catch it on the telly. He said: “I won’t be at the game because I’ll be working. “But I might try and catch it on the telly if I’m fast.” We previously revealed how Fraserburgh chairman Finlay Noble was left heartbroken after the match was cancelled.

Part of the problem in this instance is the Club's ridiculously ham fisted approach to PR, it's a self defeating strategy that has been going on for decades and is essentially a tool for defending individuals rather than the Club itself. We need to bite the bullet and employ a real PR company one with the gravitas that when they call the heidyins in the BBC (London as Glasgow is a lost cause) the call is taken and taken seriously at that. David Burnside ticks virtually every box there is in what we need in regards to PR. I have a degree of sympathy in regards to Traynor as his remit is clearly limited but allied to that is the fact that he's way out of his depth on this one. I find it bizarre that those on our board who are clearly intelligent people cannot see the damage being done by the lack of a proper functioning PR set up.

It appears they were offered "proper" covers from Arbroath but for some reason did not take up the offer, by the time they realised the severity of the situation they were fighting a losing battle despite all the effort from 120 local volunteers. Sky have yet to confirm if they will televise the rescheduled fixture or not.

http://www.fraserburghfcsc.co.uk/honorarymembers/hmembers.htm Fraserburgh Supporters Club Honorary Members Fraserburgh F.C. supporters club have numerous honorary members. These people were invited to join the club over the last ten years. The names were put forward once a year and two people were selected from that list and invited to join our club as honorary members. The pictures of all our members hang on the hall of fame wall in the Crown Bar, our spiritual home in Fraserburgh. A few names will be household names, but some of the earliest members will only be familiar to older people or people who know some of the recent history of the Highland league. Even though invited to join our club certain "sports stars" have declined the offer. The persons are invited to join because of their services to sport in Scotland, and ambassadors promoting our country and sport.
