  1. It's been patently obvious for months that Murty isn't getting the permanent gig. Whilst it's clear the Board as much as the team need to up their game I doubt the Board are going anywhere though a few fresh faces wouldn't go amiss.
  2. They made the error of backing them last time the Board are merely belatedly doing what they should have done months ago.
  3. RANGERS will today sack Kenny Miller and suspend skipper Lee Wallace after a furious Hampden bust-up with gaffer Graeme Murty on Sunday. SunSport can reveal that Miller’s Ibrox career is OVER following a major changing-room rammy with the Gers boss after the 4-0 Old Firm defeat. WILLIE VASS 3 Kenny Miller will be sacked by Rangers today The 38-year-old former Scotland striker’s contract runs out at the end of the season but he’ll have his deal paid up in full and then be immediately shown the door. Captain Wallace, 30, also seems certain to have played his last game for the club. The experienced left-back has been out of the side with an injury since September and wasn’t stripped for the Scottish Cup semi-final clash. But he joined his team-mates after the final whistle and stands accused of showing Murty a lack of respect with an angry outburst. WILLIE VASS 3 Gers skipper Wallace will be suspended by the club Wallace still has another year remaining on his contract — and club chiefs are planning to suspend him pending an internal investigation into what happened. A high-ranking Gers source told SunSport: “The Ibrox hierarchy are raging with the behaviour of the club’s most senior player and club captain after Sunday’s defeat. “The powers-that-be believe the manager has been undermined and have decided to take action. “They don’t think what happened in the dressing room is acceptable.” BET £10 WITH SUN BETS AND GET A FREE £30 BET Suited Wallace is believed to have vented his anger towards Murty for the team’s poor performance against Celts. Then Miller — an unused sub in the game — had his say. The Gers boss refused to accept their criticism. In his after-match press conference the under-pressure boss admitted: “There was emotion, anger, disappointment — all the things you’d expect after a game like that.” Now though it’s emerged Murty has held talks with Gers directors and decided he wants Miller and Wallace OUT of his squad. KENNY RAMSAY - THE SUN GLASGOW 3 Experienced Gers duo had bust-up with Murty following Celtic hammering at Hampden Both have been model professionals throughout their careers but the club feel they must back their manager. It’s the first sign of a new hardline approach since chairman Dave King appointed Douglas Park as his right-hand man. But crucially it’s Murty who is believed to have demanded action be taken against the outspoken duo.
  4. He's worth more than the reputed sub £2k a week he was offered, a look at our results with and without him in the side makes that crystal clear.
  5. Looks like the club have been inept.
  6. Classy footballer, classy human being an all too rare combination.
  7. Just looked online and it appears I currently have more for sale than Rangers
  8. They're pushing this because they think it's popular and ergo will help their recruitment drive and help full their coffers. I don't have a problem with safe standing per se but it should be done correctly and not half arsed which is what it would be if like what it appears they just want the rail seating like across the city. To do it correctly requires proper investment and structural changes to the stadium and if done properly the wheelchair facilities can be addressed at the same time. I doubt Club 1872 would even have a vote on disabled facilities as they tend to swerve the issue. Anyway when all said and done it is the responsibility of the Rangers Board to ensure the disabled facilities are what they should and need to be and in that respect they are failing badly.
  9. The vast majority of safe standing areas were specifically built for that purpose and in the most work a two step system that's how they get a ratio greater than 1:1. If you were to take out the seats in say the Copland Front (for arguments sake) and replace the seats with the rail system that they have then you will end up with a reduction in existing capacity not an increase.
  10. Working for me too! Don't see why people are getting their knickers in a twist over this it's not as if it's the first time. https://rangers.co.uk/news/club/gers-announce-e-lites-deal/ Vaping is already permitted at Ibrox.
  11. Just like his attention seeking assistant Rosa Zambioni who initially blamed online trolls for her having a stroke but now blames the disgraced former SNP MSP Mark McDonald.
  12. Was a most enjoyable and enlightening evening and the presentation was first class. I heartily recommend that anyone who hasn't seen the roadshow does so if the opportunity presents itself. The DSL is more than happy to have assisted with such a worthy cause.
  13. My Da used to work out of Scheveningen in the 70's landing herring always remember him saying the barman wouldn't serve Germans.
  14. Club 1872 are running with the safe standing thing for the wrong reason they're doing it because they think it's popular not because it's the right thing to do. The right thing to do is to ensure that the disabled facilities are brought up to date and the attitude of the Club towards its disabled fans is brought out of the Victorian era and into the 21st century. The lack of a safe standing section will have no effect on our various licences needed to operate the stadium and play in European competitions but one day our inadequate disabled facilities will. Club 1872 like the Club itself pay lip service to the issues facing disabled fans and the consequences of having such a stance.
  15. The SLO has probably had more interaction with disabled fans in the period he's held the post that his predecessor did in his entire tenure. In fact the very first phone call he had to make when he started in his position was to me to arrange for a group of RDSC members attend Auchenhowie to present some POTY awards. He has on occasion sat in with the wheelchair fans in the West Enclosure to see for himself some of the problems we face and is a regular visitor to the wheelchair areas at away grounds. He spent a large part of the Hamilton game in amongst the Rangers wheelchair fans behind the goal as he was aware of a particular set of problems we face in regards to Hamilton.
  16. I'm told it's never cold in amongst the padded seats Was f*&king freezing down in the West Enclosure as the wind was blowing down the gap beside the Broomloan
  17. I'm not for one second advocating Clarke and never have, though I concede that he's done an amazing job at Kilmarnock that's clear for anyone to see. Perhaps I'm missing something but seriously what has Murty done to justify people thinking he should be our permanent manager?
  18. We are purely an emotional investment we have nothing to offer potential investors anything other than an emotional return, outside investors will like Close Brothers demand their pound of flesh. When your business plan relies upon qualifying for the Europa League group stages sustainability ain't coming along any time soon. Murty has done nothing to justify being offered the position permanently and he won't be.
  19. Given that practically the only realistic chance of investment from outwith the current investors will be wealthier fans I'd guess they will indeed be interested in the managerial choice.
  20. I doubt they're trying to harvest investment on the back of Murty being the manager come July.
  21. Not to do so would be tantamount to signing their own death warrants, I'd like to think they're not that daft.
  22. There is no if in regards to Murty being replaced it's a case of when. I'm not for one second advocating Clarke for Rangers manager but if it were a choice between Clarke and Murty I'd take Clarke any day that ended in a y. It's churlish to belittle Clarke's achievements with a side that were a stick on for the play offs if not straight relegation before his arrival. Saturday alone showed the difference between the two, Clarke knew we would attack down the right and ensured they doubled up on Candeias and Tavernier every time, he also knew Tavernier would be caught forward and the only cover would be the paceless Alves hence Jordan Jones having a virtual free reign on their left. He saw Morelos warm up and made a double substitution which completely negated the change before it took effect. That's the difference between an experienced manager and an U20's caretaker. I agree our current squad is almost certainly is better than the rest but that only makes the fact that Clarke has bettered Murty home and away with an inferior squad all the more impressive. I have no problem with going the extra mile for a decent manager even if it is at the expense of the player budget.
  23. Cheers you just torpedoed your own nonsense from earlier in the thread. Thing is as has been demonstrated over and over again you don't need to be a great manager to succeed in Scottish football competence is usually sufficient and Clarke is certainly competent.
  24. So Steve Clarke..... Assistant Manager to Ruud Gullit at Newcastle Assistant Manager to Jose Mourinho and Avram Grant at Chelsea Assistant Manager to Gianfranco Zola at West Ham Head Coach to Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool Manager at West Brom in the Premier League Manager at Reading in the Championship Assistant Manager to Roberto Di Matteo at Aston Villa Manager at Kilmarnock ....is less experienced than Graeme Murty Assistant Youth Development Coach U12's - U16's at Southampton Youth Development Phase Lead Coach U16's then U18's Norwich Head Coach Rangers U20's Caretaker Manager Rangers 1 month Caretaker Manager Rangers 6 months +
  25. I'm not advocating Clarke for the Rangers job. We certainly need to aim higher than our U20's coach for first team manager.
