SPL and the Mystery of the Insolvent Balance Sheet

Good article but not sure that quoting the hypocritical child abuse coverer up Margaret Hodge (nee Oppenheimer) adds anything to it given the fact that her family's private company Stemcor pays tax at the whopping rate of 0.01%. As much as the tax arrangements of Starbucks,Amazon and Google et al tend to stick in the throat being lectured on those arrangements by Margaret Hodge is akin to being lectured in the evils of child abuse by the Pope. -
Yes it does piss people off when RFC claims that a decade plus waiting list is not proof of a demand for facilities, it certainly took by surprise.

I remain to be convinced the market is eagerly awaiting the flotation of a 3rd Division Scottish football club on the basis they might get into the first qualifying round of the CL in 4 years time. -

He also said on many occasions that he wouldn't be taking a wage from the club but it now transpires he is. -

I didn't take it as a dig at me rather I took it as a general observation, the reply should be viewed in the same manner. I honestly look forward to that day too, but alas there is still a fair amount of travelling to do before we reach the end of that particular road whether we like it or not. -

Just as you find it "sad" that some fans still think financial matters and the probity of both the club itself and the owners are important factors and as relevant today as they've ever been there are many who think differently. Personally unless there's a specific incident or two in a match that's worth talking about then the match thread has usually run it's course by the time I arrive home after the game, I see little value in contributing to the ad infinitum declarations that McCulloch/Cribari/Perry/Kyle who ever happens to be that days particular whipping boy are shite and that the manager hasn't got a clue. Others I concede take the opposite view as they're perfectly entitled to do, after all football forums such as this would be unbelievably boring places if they didn't contain a whole sphere of views and opinions. -
First link worked fine for me! Nice, fresh item on us which sadly couldn't ever be made as such in our country.

Thing is David Murray himself is a wheelchair user though you'd have to search long and hard to see a picture of him actually using one, I can only recall ever seeing one and that was taken within a few months of his amputations. I've raised the point re the lack of facilities at a couple of AGM's including the last one that Murray himself attended he replied, "Good point, we'll look into it", and basically dumped it into Bain's lap, in fairness to Bain progress was being made (though nothing other than the 4 spaces in the Broomloan to appease the other lot actually came out of it) till LBG took over the de facto running of the club, I suspect it was one of the first items to receive a stroke of Donald Muir's pen. The actual problem itself is not exclusive to RFC but sadly they are one of the if not the worst offenders.
-
The biggest problems we wheelchair users face at the football is not the physical environmental hurdles for these can be overcome by willing minds rather it is the absence of said willing minds that's far, far harder to overcome. As much as it pains me to say there is a mindset at Ibrox which is in a very bad place in regards the the whole issue of disability.

It's a fairly apt description of those at Sheffield United who gave Green their 60p per share only to see those shares taken away from them later for 6p a mere 90% destruction of value, if it had happened to me I'd certainly feel suckered wouldn't you? -

It was booked at £4.8m per annum £3m + £1.8m in fact the way things have panned out it was worth probably nearer £6m per annum. Unreasonable moi ? :surprised: pedantic perhaps..... -
Last time I asked them it "wasn't in their remit" apparently.

Ok it was a lie not a promise. So it was premature and presumptuous too ? It gives the Bayern merchandise a figure of merchandising of 38.9m (£31.8m). Here's the latest scum figure re merchandise. I sincerely doubt the net profit figure is as much as the £4.8m nett we booked annually from the JJB deal. -

Well I must have missed the £30m investment from investors in July, I must have missed him revealing the list of all the investors in June, I must have missed the signing of all those players that were at the Euro finals that Green was harping on about. He's now trying to seduce investors with the fantastical riches of the Premiership whilst simultaneously pissing off the very clubs whose vote he would require, Aston Villa, Man Utd et al. -

Politicians aren't shy to make promises they have no intention of keeping and spouting crap that's soon proven to be nonsense, seems pretty apt to me. I'd be more inclined to have some trust in Green if he would drop the nonsensical hyperbole. -

I'd immediately open up the East Enclosure by moving the wall forward a few feet there's ample room and that would give approximately 60 additional spaces which goes a long way in shortening the waiting list (the wall in the West Enclosure also needs moved) for minimal outlay. However that alone won't be enough for compliance with the new UEFA rules that come out in 2014 (unless UEFA are merely paying lip service which I don't think they are) for they want the spaces spaced out round the ground, undercover and elevated for an unobstructed view and not lumped together out in the elements pitchside. That is going to cost serious money and requires major structural work possibly completely rebuilding the lower tiers. Rangers will need to provide circa 250 places in total at present there are 65 in the West Enclosure, 7 for away fans in the Govan West Corner and 4 in the Broomloan, the 4 in the Broomloan cost £80k (£20k each) and were only installed to prevent a law suit from them across the city. Personally I think if there so much structural work to be undertaken to comply with the new rules it may well be worth configuring the lower tiers (or at least one) with the German model of safe standing at the same time.

The Greenites want to take a serious look at Green's business record not in Craig Whyte's wildest dreams could he separate so many people from so much cash. Lets look at his previous foray into football at Sheffield United, brought on board my his cronies to steer them through the flotation which he does at 60p per share, 9 months later he departs and the shares are worth 35p then they're finally de-listed at 6p a mere 90% loss but hey he and his cronies filled their pockets only the poor mug fans who bought shares got shafted. Take a look at the history of Kingsbridge and the £15m of clients money spunked in the Imperial Consolidated fraud, take a look at the Formation Group, take a look at Panceltica it's an abject lesson in wealth destruction. Just about the only company he's been involved in where nobody got screwed is Texas Holdings but then that's the private company of his sidekick Mike MacDonald and family. -
Letting us vote would threaten the fiefdom and there are plenty at RFC who have little desire to see things change regarding the RDSA even if it was for the greater good.
-
RDSA members don't get to vote on anything, not on the committee members, chairman, Assembly rep etc. There was some noses out of joint a couple of seasons back when the members decided they wanted to vote for a POTY rather than have the committee appoint one of their own choosing. Yes the rains a pain the roof stops right above where we sit so when it's raining heavily some quite big lumps of water come cascading down (though Hampden is equally bad in that respect).
