Zappa, but Newcastle can be financially successful just by staying in the Premier League . Rangers need to be in Europe to get anywhere close to the kind of return he'd want .

Can't help but feel that Dave king needs an irony check . he's asking us to DO something but so far he's not actually DONE anything himself , apart from flying over and a few meetings . Mike Ashley has been very clever, he's got effective control for buttons relative to his own wealth . He also know that making Rangers successful is the only way he'll make any real money but there's some speedbumps to get over in terms of owning more than one club . DK says he wants the same thing . Its easy enough to set up share classes that pay different amounts so DK has over 50% ownership but profits are split differently . Or set up a football services group that provides to both clubs . So FFS pick up the phone to each other , go 50/50 , get the wee diddies off the Board , put some cash in , get Ally some help ( or another job) And ....stop telling us we can't go and see our team . You do your job , we'll do ours

Sorry BH , hadn't picked up on this thread. Hard to bear , I know you would have brought a great deal of credibility to the proceedings.

Further £1m loan from Ashley (and club blames fans)

Has MIke Ashley written back to the SFA re his plans ? I suspected that he'd tell them to go take a running jump. -
Empty seats tell story of Rangers' fatal rift
charltonman replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Is that as universal as the media want us to think ? I can understand them not wanting Pardew ( he was a dick at Charlton) but other than that , there still in the Capital cup , they have had decent runs in the league , they're not the most expensive season ticket , I'm told the pies arent bad ( always a concern ) . Newcastle fans think they support a bigger and better team than they actually do . I'm only a wee bit optimistic BTW. -
Empty seats tell story of Rangers' fatal rift
charltonman replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Chibmark , I think you've hit upon the two aspects that I think I'm ( maybe unrealistically) optimistic about . Ashley's too big to be a grubby wee carpet bagger like Green , he'll want Rangers to run at a profit so there will be some cost cutting but I can't see him being bothered to sell off assets that are down the back of the settee money levels to him . So his best way of making money is making us successful , not paying lots of money to diddies on and off the park and promoting our brand . So he'll get rid of the free loaders and incompetents and get new players /managers in . Then you won't be watching pish and paying for Jack Irvine , Nash ( fill in your villian) . -
Guys , I don't think an individual can underwrite a rights issue or an IPO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm fairly happy . It would be great to have a brand new exciting talent to get behind but I don't think we have the cash or the scouting prowess at the moment. So seeing Boyd back and doing his thing will do fir now. He's a class act at this level.

King Could Face Probe Over Share Price Fixing Claim
charltonman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Can't see any basis for a market abuse charge . Surely no different from someone saying in a crowded pub that Guinness is rubbish and (possibly) hoping the Diageo share price falls . Other than Guinness is pretty good and we urny . -

Agree Frankie , but details aside, the overidding angle of attack ...."put up or shut up" kinda feels right .- 84 replies

I think he has called Dave King out ...and a lot of people would agree with that as a tactic. Getting very fed up of him shouting from the sidelines.- 84 replies

The First Annual Gersnet Dinner (The Bears Picnic)
charltonman replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in Rangers Chat
It was great to meet you all and me and Alison had a great time . We had to bail out before pudding as we were off to see a steely dan tribute band that night ....and to be fair I probably should skip more puddings . Got the pics from BH ( and top work fella for organising) look forward to the others . Can we get BH a proper clipboard for next time ... he was getting challenges to his authority and that wouldnt happen if he had the proper gear . -

Barry Ferguson - Me and Le Guen and Pickled Onion Monster Munch
charltonman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think Barry is deliberately missing the point . "So yes, I’ll hold my hands up right now. To this day I am guilty of wanting to win every game I play. I know I run around with my wee face all screwed up, moaning at everyone and everything but it’s only because I care so much about winning." ....I seem to remember at the time that PLG's main beef was that Barry was undermining him on the park by doing just what he says above . You'd bet that wee Barry was running about telling everyone else their job and feck what PLG had told them before the game . Was there not quite a bit of discussion about the role of captain in different football cultures ? In the end getting rid of PLG was definately right but for Barry to say it was just about motivation is a probably a wee bit fly . Top man though . Wee Barry Loyal .- 38 replies

"Miller wants to form a new company to run Rangers whilst the old business goes through what he regards as the lengthy process of exiting administration. He would then merge the businesses at a later date." ...from the Guardian. Way too early to go mental. He will want an exit plan at some point ...nothing to stop him and the blue knights now working together to provide that plan . He may also have worked out a way to get Whyte totally out the picture by going around him if I'm reading between the lines correctly. Important thing is to focus on the enemies outside the club.

SFA Ruling: Lifetime ban for Whyte; RFC signing ban for 1 year
charltonman replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Strikes me that there are mitigating circumstances here. The sale to Whyte will be proven to be an attempt by MIH to avoid tax ..there was no effective governance in place. The SFA should look at this again. Until we have new ownership I dont think we can really put up an effective fight. -
Excellent season for my local lads. Dead chuffed for Chris Powell ....an elegant and classy player. And now an elegant and classy manager. Totally bossed up League One this year.
