  5. I may add the culture of alcohol & wummin, which probably is not prevalent on the continent.

  7. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/item/9157-club-statement THE Board of Rangers International Football Club has today informed the SPFL of their intention that Rangers season ticket holders will not be charged to attend the play off matches at Ibrox. These games are to be played between May 9 and May 31 and the Club believes supporters who bought tickets for the entire season should not be asked to pay more. It is fundamentally wrong to ask supporters to pay for season tickets and then, at the end of the campaign, expect them to pay again to watch what will now be the most important matches of that same season. The Club wishes to express its gratitude to all of those who bought tickets and also point out that a sensible pricing policy for play-off tickets, other than season tickets, will be announced soon so that as many Rangers fans as possible can be at Ibrox to help drive their team towards the Premiership. We have gone through the correct channels and it should also be made clear that Rangers will comply fully with Rule C26 and pay a levy of 50% of the other ticket prices. Rangers recognises fully the SPFL’s desire to help their member clubs but as well as having a responsibility to the game in general Rangers has to be mindful of their own fans at all times. Even so, it should be noted that Rangers is not the first Club to allow season ticket holders into the play offs free of additional charge. The SPFL Board gave Hibernian permission to allow their season ticket holders free entry into their play-off match last season therefore setting a precedent.

  13. call me a traditionalist but I prefer just blue on the Rangers top, with no other colours.
  14. you know as well as I that is incorrect. He had found an Nomad, it was AIM who wouldn't let them proceed.
  15. excellent stuff, Frankie. The new site is looking great:rock:
  16. the three touch free kicks, where he hits it straight into the wall used to drive me mad. He has no pace, and can't organise the defence, If anything he should be put up front as he has scored a few decent goals in his time.
  17. why were Simonsen and Boyd on the bench instead of Robinson and Daly?
  18. wee Doddie http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/8955-magnificent-sandy-deserves-this ALEX MacDonald says the unveiling of the new Sandy Jardine bronze bust is a fitting tribute for a fantastic man. The pair spent 20-years together as players, coaches and managers and 12 of those were spent playing in Rangers blue. And the former midfielder thinks it will be special for Sandy’s grandchildren to be able to see the impact he made at Ibrox. He joined fellow players Alex Miller, Colin Stein, Willie Johnston and Rangers director John Gilligan on an emotional day to give the press the first glimpse of the sculpture. Alex said: “He would have been thrilled with it; you can see how we feel seeing it and he would have been over the moon. “It is great for him and his family; his grandkids can come to Ibrox and see that Grandpa is up there. “It is fantastic and absolutely brilliant; it is a great credit to the club and the supporters who helped to get it done. “He was a wonderful person; from kids to grown-ups he would help them in any way possible, even talking about wages and things like that. “He was always there for anybody to approach at Ibrox, Tynecastle or anywhere – he was that type of person.” Alex and Sandy used to be roommates at Rangers and Hearts and he joked: “I did sleep with the guy for 20-years so I definitely know it looks like him! “I did an interview a while ago and the lad said to me “Isn’t it great he has a stand named after him?” and I said “Yeah it’s fantastic, he’s got a stand and I’ve got a door!” “But this is a great tribute to Sandy and he thoroughly deserves it because of the time he put into this club, plus the time he gave after the football had stopped. “He was so loved here and he had his famous song “Sandy, Sandy in royal blue. “He was dedicated to Rangers and won everything with all different managers, he helped them, he drilled them and he set them up – he did a magnificent job here.” Sandy and Alex both starred for Hearts as well as the Gers and after Sandy had spent a spell as Alex’s number two at Tynecastle they managed the Jambos together from 1986-1990. But it is Rangers where their hearts remained and with a new board and management team Alex is hoping things are looking up for the club that the pair both loved. He continued: “Now the club has turned around it is fantastic, they’ve got the right people in and they are people who are going to look after the club and give back to the fans. “I am sure the board will work very hard, I know Douglas Park personally, he was a director at Tynecastle when I was there and he is a worker as well. “I think Stuart and Kenny Black are doing a grand job on the pitch and it is different and you hear the supporters saying that too - I’ve known Kenny a long time and he is good at what he does. “It is good to get someone in with some new and fresh ideas who can maybe change the training. “I’m looking forward to the game at the weekend and yes there is always a little case of divided loyalties but once a Ranger always a Ranger. “I think Hearts have been well organised and even when Craig Levein was a player he was a wee clever cookie and he goes into things deeply – they have done unbelievably well there. “I thought Rangers and Hibs would have been closer to them but that is football and that is why we all come and watch it, because it is unpredictable.”
  19. Paul Murray Statement http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/8956-paul-murray-statement RANGERS interim Chairman Paul Murray has tonight released the following statement: We tried everything within our power to have the suspension lifted but it was clear that we would have to pay a price for years of poor corporate governance and financial mismanagement since the IPO. The delisting is down solely to the actions and conduct of past regimes. You could say the behaviour of previous directors has poisoned the well with AIM but even so we might have expected a little more understanding from certain quarters. However, I must point out that delisting will have no effect on our overall financial strategy. The investments we expect will still be made and Rangers will be rebuilt on schedule. Be certain that this delisting, which is down entirely to the actions of previous Boards, will have no bearing on future investment. Also, we are putting in place an extremely credible share-dealing facility which will enable shareholders to buy and sell their shares. I understand there will be some shareholders unhappy with this outcome but I am sure the vast majority of shareholders will be satisfied. One of the platforms keen to take us is ISDX. This is an exchange that Rangers used to trade on and it is also a trading platform for Arsenal. We will have a full platform set up by the end of May but have made arrangements to have a temporary facility operating by next Tuesday morning. It is unfortunate our intended Nomad, who had confirmed to us that they cleared all of the individuals concerned as fit and proper, could not proceed after having conducted due diligence on the company but I want to stress again that this will not hinder our plans.
