  1. Nail on the head there mate. Small minded nation at times, and folk wonder why we can't think bigger when competing in football.
  2. Is this perception or do you know something:devil: Just posted it on GF, hope you don't mind.
  3. Although I expect at least 2 new signings, what quality they are remains to be seen. I also feel that the failure to reach the CL will impact on the quality unless we unearth a couple of gems. I'd assume that the club has already planned for the tax bill since it was Whyte's team that found it.
  4. Nail on the head there dude. I penned this tonight, the first couple of paragraphs are of similar sentiment to the op: The gun is cocked, distance worked out, the little infrared light is acutely aimed at Ally McCoist and the itchy trigger finger is ready to pull back and fire ââ?¬Å?Superââ?¬Â out of office. Ridiculous, isnââ?¬â?¢t it? Well, thatââ?¬â?¢s the expectation of managing Rangers, Scotlandââ?¬â?¢s greatest and most successful club. I am certainly not playing down the disastrous consequences of not reaching the group stages of the Champions League. However, given Allyââ?¬â?¢s contribution to Rangers over his career I would have expected him to be given some sort of grace! Donââ?¬â?¢t get me wrong, he has made some baffling decisions in his short managerial time, some of them borderline criminal, but letââ?¬â?¢s all get behind the man that has helped make us world record holders for domestic titles. I will, and if that makes me naÃ?¯ve, then so be it. Weââ?¬â?¢re probably going into this game as the underdogs because of our poor performance at Ibrox and gilt-edged missed chances. Yes, despite our inept performance, we had the opportunities to put this tie to bed. With the slightly more accomplished performance away to St Johnstone on Saturday and with Jelavic getting off the mark for the season, we should go into the game with a more ââ?¬Ë?can do attitudeââ?¬â?¢. Our opponents looked comfortable on the ball at Ibrox and they will not be taken lightly, however, If we go for it from the start, score early, then I believe weââ?¬â?¢ll be another step closer to the riches of The Champions league. Because of certain parties we wonââ?¬â?¢t have any travelling bears to make an atmosphere and perhaps thatââ?¬â?¢ll make it easier for the team as they get into a rhythm that seems to have disappeared from least seasonââ?¬â?¢s title run in. Our players must go in with the right attitude; the manager must pick the right players in the right positions. Sometimes it really is that simple. My team if our new signing is eligble:
  5. Of dear; he's mad; I hope it doesn't catch; the world would be semi-sensible.
  6. £35 million for rent etc over the time period sounds not bad if used right. Love to know how it all breaks down with regards to overheads like electric and stuff.
  7. I've heard good reports about their hospitality grub, but the stuff for us ordinary fans is honking. I only eat it because an early rise for the boat and2.5 hours on a bus makes me hungry.
  8. So, is the £35 million for us and they get all the profits/sales from selling their services at Ibrox and MP? Or is the £35 million a sales forecast that we can all (club and Azzure) expect to get from it?
  9. You can ignore my questions on FB, Frankie:D
  10. They need hits, readers, and viewers, makes perfect sense for them to reach out to forums such as this. Hopefully this is just the start of online communities building relationships with more official media sites.
  11. Can be sluggish for me at times:(
  12. Wasn't aware of that, thanks.
  13. Very good. If i have one complaint though, you were too complimentary about Brown.
  14. Article from June on the lad: Bedoya is breakout player of Gold Cup PASADENA, Calif. -- American winger Alejandro Bedoya got quite the surprise a few weeks ago. In spite of regular call-ups to the national team, in which he showed very brief flashes of promise, he'd been left off the Gold Cup roster. Even Freddy Adu, whose career was still hurtling into the abyss, was included on the roster for the tournament. So Bedoya, the 24-year-old New Jersey native who bolted for Orebro in Sweden rather than enter the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, did the next best thing. He booked a holiday to Barcelona with his girlfriend. But on the eve of the United States' jam-packed June, in which it had scheduled a friendly against Spain and faced up to six Gold Cup games, U.S. midfielder Benny Feilhaber injured his right ankle in a game for his New England Revolution. Bedoya was called to report to the national team. Holiday cancelled. But since the second game of the group stage, Bedoya started getting significant playing time and making fruitful substitutions. In the quarterfinals against Jamaica, he became a starter after Landon Donovan returned from a wedding the morning before the game. Bedoya performed so well that Donovan -- the team's superstar and best-ever player -- was kept out of the starting lineup for the semifinals. Now, for Saturday's final, there's every chance that Bedoya will retain Donovan's old slot on the right wing, forcing coach Bob Bradley to find somewhere else to deploy Donovan. A talented but ineffective player for the national team until now, Bedoya has been a real spark plug. He's also the only American winger with a tendency to stay wide. In so doing, he's created room in the center for the likes of Clint Dempsey and Sacha Kljestan. Pairing well with veteran right back Steve Cherundolo by tracking back and devoting a lot of energy to closing down his turf, Bedoya has also helped made the right flank an unpopular route for opponents. And for that, his teammates love him. "He's been great," said goalkeeper Tim Howard. "We love his energy, his commitment; he gets up and down. He's kind of wiry and a bit awkward in a way. He wins a lot of headers, but is not the biggest guy. He wriggles past people, he's crafty, he's diligent on the defensive end, he pushes forward. He's been a boost for us." "He's been a good addition," said Bradley. "His energy, his movement -- I think he's been sharp with the ball." Tweet, tweet Don't miss a moment of the latest soccer coverage from around the world. Follow us on Twitter and stay informed. Join » Assessing his own contribution, Bedoya thinks his energy has been the key to his game -- and the impetus for helping the U.S. turn the corner after a bumbling start to the tournament. "I think what we were missing the first couple of games in the group stage was to start the game off on the right note -- with the intensity and everything," he said. "I think I'm able to do that and I think it helps us get a better game overall, that we start with the fast pace and impose our game on the opponents." But he, too, has been taken aback by the net contribution he has made. "I was quite surprised," said Bedoya. "If I'm going to be quite honest, of course I was surprised. I didn't see it coming. I obviously wasn't included in the original roster, and to come in here and to do this? I definitely wasn't expecting that. "It's kind of been ... I dunno, whatever you want to call it, a coming-out party I guess?" added Bedoya. But the rest of the national team saw it coming. "We've known about him for a while," said Cherundolo. "He's nothing new to me, I see him in practice every day." "I think he's maybe not the surprise, but the breakout-player of the tournament," said captain Carlos Bocanegra. "Every time he's come into this camp he works hard, he's pushing it, always fighting for a starting position. He was always right there." With Bedoya finally winning a starting position and making a real impact for the national team, there's really only been one victim: Bedoya's girlfriend, who missed out on her vacation. "She's very understanding," Bedoya said with a smile. "From the moment we started dating she knew what my career was going to be like and that these things can happen. She's been a great sport."
  15. Never read the article only came in here to read what you all said which I agree with - the man's an attention seeking fanny.
  16. :fish: Are the panic merchants feeling more at ease after tonight?
  17. I am on another forum mate. I see myself as just another poster and only do mod stuff when required.
  18. It was mate. Naismith, Weir, McGregor and Hemming are the only ones to get pass marks.
  19. You'd rather have forum staff act all robotic and be complete jobs-worths? They're just as entitled to share their opinions as we are so long as they don't abuse that.
  20. Hemmings was the only plus from yesterday. Brutal performance.
  21. Outstanding article.
  22. Like Xmas for us exiled bears:D
  23. Drove past earlier and seeing an official UEFA flag flying above Seaview was one strange sight.
  24. Should this not be working for new ST holders? I'm sure I read that it was!
  25. Didn't PLG have a good pre-season? Looked how that turned out.
