Is there a link between Jig and poor results or is it coincidence?
Stimpy replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
No, I don't think he has mate. Like you, I too appreciate what has done for Rangers. He's the type of guy that you want in the dressing room and training field as he is one of us living the dream. But, like all players, his time with us is up. I'd much rather he bowed out with all of us wishing him well, rather than the fans really getting on his back and making him miserable. Of course, he does not pick himself and like all players he will want to play every game. -

Yeah, Andy has met Whyte, the trust are waiting, still, for a chat! Believe it'll happen soon.

That'll be their accounting degrees courtesy of kiddy-fiddler-street.

He's an attention seeking whore. If he carried on towards the orcs like he does with us, his windows would be smashed and his family under 24 hour security. Anyone with half a brain would realise that we're a soft touch. I'm not saying we act like them, but he should have been banned from Ibrox a long time ago.

Yeah, I agree with this. The other side of the coin is that we can monitor the goings on more closely, which IMO, should raise the performance of the guys' running the club.

Good thing or bad thing mate?

They do. Usually tickets are for sale on the boat from Belfast because RSC's couldn't sell them to their members.

And this from the man tasked with bringing the SFA into the 21st century! Pathetic.

Big Goain against Aberdeen was collecting nearly every ball from McGregor, as was Bocanegra when the big man went off injured. What we need is more movement from the midfield and strike force to utilise it better. Also, quicker passing as there was times against the sheep that players moved into space for the simple pass and were ignored or missed out. By the time they were spotted they were marked. I'd put this down to a few of the players not being used to each other. Time should heel this!

That was going to be my reply too.

The Rangers Rollercoaster - Do You Enjoy The Ride?
Stimpy replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Sitting in Ibrox or just driving up to the stadium still gives me the goosebumps. It can be painful on the eye from the playing side of things but sooner or later we will have the mix of both great stadium and decent, attractive football. We're spoiled and have higher expectations because of our success, we pay more to watch football than the likes of Alloa, but if fans didn't enjoy it the attendance would be much smaller. We have a different way of showing our appreciation. -
Not sure about worshipping him mate, just nice to see a blog that's different for a change. Despite his limitations he has also broke some news leading up the takeover that has turned out to be true. I'm not aware of other Rangers Bloggers apart from the writers on here and other forums. Link me in to them please.

I penned this today. Along similar lines but I tried to take the positive route. During Craig Whyte’s long running saga to takeover Rangers most fans never really seemed aware of the scale of the problems that lay ahead. In fact, 99% of us were unaware of how poorly we were in terms of operating like a business. We all hoped and dreamed of our club being fiscally stable with no hidden agendas or any minefields to navigate through. We all wanted the club to be open with the fans and fight our corner. In my opinion we are but are the majority willing to be patient? So far we have seen The BBC apologise to us twice, a well-known Daily record journalist temporarily banned, and Craig Whyte come out with the quote: “Stop telling lies about us and we’ll stop telling the truth about you”. Awesome! The club is embracing the digital age with accounts on Facebook and Twitter. You only need to view their pages to see how far they are performing. The numbers do not lie. We now have ‘Rangers Utilities’, set up solely for businesses. Pretty simple, eh? You’re a Rangers fan that happens to be self-employed, so why not see if Rangers can save you money. Now we are being told that the club might host India versus Pakistan in an international friendly. Two small football nations compared to the traditional giants, however, both countries have huge populations that love football and are in need of fuelling their demand. Play it right and we can be part of it. Recently, and quite surprisingly, we’re being strongly linked to a massive TV deal with American media giants, Fox. We all know it’s come about through the acquisition of two American internationalists plus Edu. We could argue all night of the ethics and coincidence of both signings, but we can’t argue with the long term prospects it has. There’s also the small matter of signing an Australian international, another country with massive marketing potential. Like Bocanegra and Bedoya, Mckay’s signing can and will ask questions of the ethical nature of their arrival. Only time will tell on all three. So where are the problems? For one, we are being slightly too open with our transfer business. The club could quite simply state that we will see ‘x’ amount of players in before the deadline finishes. There is no need to publicly announce every transfer as it only feeds our enemies and gives leverage to the nay sayers. For me personally though, that is only teething problems that will be rectified as the new regime learns the game. There is also the issue of miss-communication between Ali Russell and Gordon Smith, both seem to be building their relationship albeit too openly, as when one says the opposite of the other it does give out the wrong message. Another teething problem though. Easily fixed! Ally McCoist, Rangers living legend and hero of mine; team selection, tactical and result wise it has gone a wee bit sticky for him. ‘Super’ seems to be relying on Walter’s old war horses whilst trying to do his own thing. Ally does have to integrate new players from foreign fields, which is not easy, but why wear your slippers when you can wear your shoes. He has the players that can play in natural positions yet, naively, plays the famous Walter card. Take the good from your mentor but not the bad, please Ally. However, again, these are mistakes that are rectified over time, gained by experience. Ally’s a clever and competitive man; he is not the type to walk away. Due to the public nature of Rangers’ business we are always in the headlines, especially after such a dramatic last six months, so that means negativity will always come first. But, if we can all see the woods for the trees we may have the future we all hoped and dreamt of.

Cheers BD. All those failed bids were surely a smokescreen. From £2m+ bids to penny pinching. I can also assume that the income from the CL which will not be used on the playing front will help offset next years "possible" losses.
-
With the transfer window closing soon and the net spend being below (Transfers only) £2m is this a sign that all is not well at Rangers?
-
The reason that I asked is I thought Frankie might have stored it in the archive or penned an article on it. The forum I moderate on has a discussion on Whyte and I thought I would add my tuppence worth. However, since Gersnet has a couple of good finance heads they might be able to explain the following paragraph: The Rangers FC Group has stated its intention to invest, or procure an investment of, £20 million by 2016 for investment in the playing squad. If, as part of any player acquisition, the Club agrees to make a transfer payment in a future year before 2016, The Rangers FC Group will be obliged to invest cash to cover such transfer payment, up to £5 million per year; such amounts coming out of the £20 million investment that The Rangers FC Group has stated its intention to inves Mainly the bold part. I could be reading it wrong but does that mean he'll put in £5m of his own cash in or will Whyte look for outside investment to keep up his end of the bargain?

I miss his blogs even if I don't always agree with him. He has his uses and is on our side. I read that he had broken an arm, can anyone confirm?

Got it, you can lock or delete as you wish peeps.

Afternoon all, do any of you have a copy or a link to the letter Whyte sent to the shareholders detailing his exact plans for the club? Tried Google but only got his initial takeover statement.
-
Perry would be my start because of his performance on Saturday and the fact that Beconegra hasn't much time to adjust to his new surroundings. My biggest worry though, is Jig walking back into the side and making us slower in everything we do.

Must read Jock Wallace article in yesterday's Guardian
