For the past two months the board of the RST, in partnership with other members of the Rangers Family, have been working on a Community Share Scheme. The Community Share Scheme is designed to bring about a significant stake in Rangers FC by way of investing in the club as a collective and helping to secure the club’s long term future. Because of the size of the task involved, we sought out help from our members and the wider Rangers support. We were delighted by the response and the calibre of individuals that have got involved. Supporters Direct, the governing body for supporters trusts in the UK, have also supported the process through their network of resources. Ian Davidson MP's involvement to date has been to, very helpfully, broker a meeting with the club. Paul Goodwin (SD), Ian Davidson MP and Chris Graham (Chris has been helping to co-ordinate the project) all attended a meeting with Mr Green and Mr Stockbridge recently to discuss the concepts of fan investment and involvement in the club. Mr Green and Mr Stockbridge were very receptive to these concepts. The content of this meeting and previous discussions has been communicated to The Rangers Supporters Assembly and Rangers Supporters Association in order to hopefully achieve widespread backing for the project. The groups will reconvene after consultation. Despite all the troubles of the past six months, the Rangers Family will hopefully soon have an opportunity to invest in, and have a real say in the future of, the club we all love. The Trust Board will further update members if and when the project is ready to launch."

Any links for that report Steve?

Just to add to that and Bigy's post. We've discussed the membership fee and what it should be. Any time a reduction is discussed the topic, and a very important point, is our life members and subscription members who pay annually might feel aggrieved. It's not off the table as yet and will no doubt be looked at again. An AGM/SGM would have to resolve it as the board couldn't just do this on its own. Also, any new member in the scheme will see that go to legal fees and marketing for the scheme. All we have to do is set aside enough to cover annual running costs so we don't end up insolvent by flinging everything into the pot. This scheme would have to give everyone a vote, as we're looking to have actual, tangible voting rights within the club. If it meant me being voted off the board so be it, as long the aim is achieved. That sentiment is shared across the board.

Haha! no mate, that's certainly not the case. We all wanted the launch to speak for itself then engage with Bears once they've digested everything. I'm not interested in splitting hairs which these type of debates are usually based around from experience. Nothing good will come it and I'd rather let everyone see it at once and taking all the info on board before making an informed decision.

This it pretty much in a nut shell. Over the course of the past two months the Trust have been working on a community share scheme. You may or may not recall we announced our intentions in late June and asked for volunteers, members or not, to get involved in the various aspects needing covered. We managed to get a number of supporters to help us. Some are members, some are not. We also approached RU because if two organisations release something then it would make us all look silly with the usual drama and factions saying its a competition. The last thing anyone needs! We've had several meetings where RU have opposed RST membership. Just for clarity, this has to happen for legal reasons and if there is something else where we don't have to join but stay in a collective then I'm all ears. It was also recognised by all in attendance that RU's proposals are a membership scheme and it can only be introduced by having the club and its shareholders vote for it. Basically, you need to own or control the club before a membership scheme is proposed to the support We have also asked the two RSAs to get involved, both are keen but want to speak with their other group reps. The club knows about this and are very receptive and encouraged to what is proposed. Three folk met the club, SD man Paul Goodwin, Ian Davidson and Chris Graham. Further meetings will happen when we have more to report. There are supporters working very hard in the background on various aspects of the campaign. We are waiting on the go from the FSA; we have been through the legal minefield in ensuring this is all above board. We are in with SD because they govern us and we can use their resources like legal team which has saved us a fortune as they go through all our documents. None of this is new to everyone involved. Chris Graham, like the other supporters involved, have got involved because they believe in it and to ensure neutrality. This is bigger than the Trust but it just so happens the Trust is the only legal vehicle to set this up and see it through. Ian Davidson is also there for those reasons and because he's Govan's MP. That is all fact, not my opinion, and more will be announced in the future. This might sound condescending, it's not meant to be, but I won't be getting involved in a debate over what I just posted. The facts are there, folk have and still are working away on this, it will go ahead. Apologies if that isn't what you wanted to hear just now but I'd rather let the dust settle instead of drama and splitting hairs.

Folks, I will comment on this tomorrow so you know the facts. It's late and my bed awaits.

Pundits made comparison on the two all the time from what I can recall. One was a thug and more comparable to Lennon due to the affliction with contorting his face all the time in anger. The other, well, history speaks for itself - quality player.

The lengths these guys go to is astonishing. Never in my puff would I put, or even think about, that sort of effort into another club.
-
Leggo - your time is up - you're all washed up mate!
Stimpy replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
He does get a lot of info passed to him by the media and elements from within the club, however, his writing style's shocking. Stopped reading some time ago. He tends to use snippets of info and turn them into a rant and loses the actual point of releasing info others wouldn't write about. -
I wish I knew more mate. Even when I'm told something I have a habit of putting it to the back of my mind only for it to reappear when a thread like this pops up.
-
Not sure mate, but you're probably correct. Sweeping is what Scotland excels at.
-
Far from over mate, they want blood. I'm also told lawell's quite in these meetings and does his bidding in private then lets his bidders do all the work in the boardroom. Media have supposedly got concrete info on Doncaster that can blow the lid open but haven't went live with it yet.
-
Apparently Green was advised he could sign players before the embargo whilst the license wasn't granted officially, so he called Ally to get the ball rolling, ally did, Doncaster found out and threw paper around the boardroom in front of the SPL chairman I mentioned. Some SFL officials were in attendance too at this stage.
-
Wonder why, when an agreement was made to give us our SFA membership, did Thompson, Milne, Petrie and Lawell have another meeting to force the stripping of titles upon Green the following day, thus delaying our license. But he's not anti-Rangers? My arse. Next he'll tell us that Doncaster never threw a hissy fit in the boardroom when he found out We started signing players.

From your experience, is this trading as insolvent?
-
Been told if their revenue pa drops below £6m they will go bankrupt.

If it's packed to the rafters then Blue sea of Ibrox as the team comes out would go down well. Personal choice:)
-
Forgot about that parade. Good thing though, the club members can't moan about events clashing:)

Our boat departs from Canryan at 11.30pm that night. Very messy day ahead for Ulster bears.
-
Very nice. Plenty of reading to pass the time and refresh the memory from time to time.

My whole family follows Rangers so I suppose it was the right thing to do. Cliché and all that, but thank fuck I was born into 'Gers family.
-
Think Gersnet need to log onto FB and share it.
-
Yeah, quite a few thousand has seen it and nearly a thousand folk shared it. Another cheeky bump later will help!

He also knows the big man knew.
